My daughter wants to model for Playboy *nsfw*

BadKen's making a list right now and I do not want to be on it.

I'm trying to get to the top!

Before I die, I want a signed copy of whatever issue she appears in.

Congrats and hope she lives her life to the fullest but be a good voice of reason for her. I've known people with similar intentions lose sight of the bigger picture once those flash bulbs start going off.

There's the grand prize for the next Donation Drive...

You think it's weird for you guys, I've had a couple weeks to adjust and I still don't know what to think about some stuff. Like, do I complement her on her pictures? Do I even want to look at all of them? I mean, my daughter, whose diapers I changed many moons ago, nude, no big deal. However, my daughter, trying her best to look sexy for the camera, nude... weird.

My first thought when I found out was "Oh god, now I'm going to have to be REALLY careful what porn I look at!"

Okay, not really. A) what she's doing is not pornographic, and B) the only thing that turns me on is malaysian monkey porn.

And stuff like Rat Boy's ceiling shark, I don't know whether to laugh or challenge him to pistols at dawn.

I obviously have no problem with nude art. But when it's your own offspring up there, it's harder to look at it objectively. And if I do go through her photos I'm probably just going to end up getting mad at the photographer and retoucher for making her look bad. "OH my GOD who taught this guy photoshop, look how shiny her face is in this picture!"

I believe this advice is very sound.

I showed this thread to a friend, who pointed out that we once partied with a soon to be Miss USA.
He said it put things like this in perspective. My response was Badken taught me DoW2 mp beta and his daughter is hotter.

I hesitate to even write anything here, since I certainly don't intend to insult you or your daughter. I guess I'm just really surprised by the reaction that this is seen as something positive. She's an adult, sure, and free to make her own choices, but it certainly sits really weirdly with my own moral sensibilities. I'm a pretty liberal person, politically, but... yeah.

In the age of the internet? Pretty much anyone who runs a google search for her name. The only way to be a playmate is to go into it proudly because people are always going to find out about it from someone. I wish someone had told me that before I did that nude photoshoot back in the 1980s for Playgirl magazine.

Can't she go by an alias? Like Danielle Oogaba or something?

This song has taken on a slightly different meaning for Badken.

So when you pose for Playgirl, you're going by "Todd Weiner-Bomb?"

Heff would like to see you now for a "screen test" in his "office."

She needs to think about what she does in life. It will be on every background check and people will find out. It might be harder for her to earn respect in the corporate world if her co-workers are able to see naked photos of her. Hell, it might even stop her from getting work.

Well... having a successful photo shoot published for one of the most well-known publications in existence is a far cry from getting sh*t-faced and posting pictures of one's naked ass on MySpace/Facebook.

No kidding.

Do you realize how awkward it would be for the guy buying the Playboy month with her in it, only for Ken to be behind him in line?

"Yeah, enjoy that magazine. It's a good one. My daughter is the centerfold."

I would high five the man. Possibly offer beer.

I think Badken's last post pretty much sums it up.
Even given how open-minded & sensible he is, it will give a whole new spin on looking at nudie pics in men's mags.

"wow nice. Wait a sec, she's around the same age as my kid. Not as good looking either on second glance. ... Moving on"

Worse would be for the boyfriend. What would you do if you were in his shoes?
Pretty sure there are some Goodjers with wives/girlfriends/exes who were models or gathered lots of male attention via some form of media. Any stories to share?

That might not work. Krazytaco knows where that hand has been. I hear he's also quite particular when it comes to beer.

God 22 looks so young nowadays.

what's the icon? :grizzly:

:perv:

there it is.

also: nominated for best GWJ thread of all time.

Way to go on giving back to humanity! You sir, are awesome.

Honestly, this really won't affect her much at all. Unlike many of today's teenagers who "sext" each other, Badken's daughter if fully aware of the, ahem, exposure that she is in for. Plus she'll be well compensated for it. And I'm guessing most employers wouldn't be concerned by this.

Of course now I'm trying to cross reference the gun owners thread to see if Badken packs heat. If so, then he might be using this thread to compile a sh*t-list. Nothing like hunting people!

How many Todd's visit this site, that's what I want to know.

The most dangerous game!

In high school, I had a French teacher who had posed for Playboy years before. Eventually, someone found out, found the centerfold, and hung it in her classroom. She was reduced to tears.

I'm not saying BadKen's daughter shouldn't do it, but there are a lot of potential paths in life, and this might become inconvenient in some of them.

DON'T! What happens if you get a chumb?

BadKen wrote:

Wait...

What?

Well that's putting a positive spin on things. Having worked 20+ years in the corporate/financial world, personal activities outside the workplace are generally off limits to employers. Heck, my company, even though it doesn't recommend us using our real names in association with a FB profile for example, or posting questionable photos, it doesn't prohibit it either. But word will get round and no amount of monetary compensation will overcome any workplace political ramifications from say, a racy pictorial in a men's magazine. Guess it all depends on the employer too and the public image they're trying to project. If it has a priggish clientele or becomes a media distraction, employers will find a way to let you go shy of unlawful dismissal.

Flipside to this argument is that if you indicate to a potential employer of having done something like this, or better yet, approached by one as a result of it and hired, then good gravy.

I usually call myself Mex. It gets me in the door.
