Borderlands (catch all)

After the apocalypse, there won't be any jails.

And the need for procreation will eliminate societal proscriptions.

She's also a magic alien thingie. Just saying you might not want to get her too excited.

Hey, we can change the character names, right?

I think Brick might end up as Lord Beefy B. Beeferbeef the VII!

All the real women I meet these days seem to be magic alien thingies, so I call this "immersion".

Did you play Kreed?

Only in our minds, man.... only in our minds!

The box art has been released. And, it's kind of bad-ass.

It is totally badass.

Agreed. It's great to see them using something genuinely interesting for the cover, instead of going with the usual "big guy/hot girl with ridiculous gun" motif.

Looks like a comic book cover. Nice job to whoever came up with the design.

So is anyone 360ing this? Or are you all PC? I have a decent lappy that could handle the specs, but I think it would be 'nicer' on the 'box. I'm still skeptical of GFW live, too, so I'm on the fence (until my pre-order ships).

There's no hot girl? I'M BOYCOTTING THIS GAME!!

Still looking forward to the game but i'm not really liking the box art. It's stylish - i can't deny that... but the "blowing his brains out motif"? It strikes me as borderline rejection on shelves.

PC if there's no DRM.... if there is, 360.

I have a funny feeling they'll have to choose a different cover once Moms and Sissys see it. I really hope not, though.

Given how brown the game looks in screenshots, I'm a bit surprised by how red the box is.

360!

Also: box art is sweet. A man in a gas mask is blowing his brains out with his fingers, only his brains are action-packed scenes from the wasteland. What's not to love?

How red the box is.

Oh, and PC. Totally PC.

Love the box art. I'll be 360.

Now that is an awesome box art!

Love the box art.

360 for me, most of my friends have one, only a few have a PC that could handle this.

This title is becoming a sleeper hit for me. I had pretty much no intentions of buying it, then no intentions of buying it until six or seven months down the line, and now I'm seriously considering this as a day one purchase (although half of my anticipated titles being delayed into 2010 assisted with that).

Also, a mix between an FPS and Diablo sounds like a PC game to me. Even Randy says I should buy it on PC.

I'm in on PC.

PC for me, too. I just prefer my RPGish games to be a bit more dynamic and moddable. Better chance of that on the PC for sure.

I think I'm going to be headed for a PC upgrade this Fall. Dragon Age, Borderlands ... Dragon Age.

I agree. I was ripping this game's ass on the first page I think. And I still think the video looks kind of stupid. But I keep hearing more and more about the game and its gone a long way towards convincing me this could be worth a purchase.

After surfing around on the official Gearbox forums, I've found that no one knows how the inventory system works.

I found that the moderators were extremely welcoming and friendly:

We have quite a lengthy thread about all things inventory: http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com... . All relevant discussion should go there.

Please use the Search feature next time.

In a short answer, though, we don't know.

I am now locking this.

Sorry for my ignorance, SpookyMulder. Next time I'll search till I find my lack of an answer.

Damn, that box art is cool!

I think the reason that the background is red is the same reason that the guy's "brains" are grayish, meaning to push the limits of acceptable box art without crossing the line. So instead of a grayish background with red brains getting blown out of his head, which would surely be unacceptable to retailers, they reversed the colors to make it less graphic/obvious.

I could be totally wrong, but that's how I interpreted it.

PC here also - I'm going with the tested and true "Don't like controlling shooters with thumbsticks" excuse. Hasn't failed me yet.

If your brains are red, you should see a doctor immediately. Not only because your brains are red but because you can check.

While cool, I've already had two sites tell me it's controversial, which always sets me on edge. It needs to be out long enough for people to react in order to be "controversial".

I just figured out the ending of this game.

Smartass.

So exactly what color would you expect to see if the back of a guy's head was blown out with a gun?

This blows my mind...

Ha

Probably getting this on 360

Pc version for me too - and that is the best box art I've seen in ages.

I have a horrible feeling I'm going to have to do the same.
