The Action Figures thread

Since we're just a bunch of dirty enablers and I couldn't find another thread about the subject, I thought I'd start one. There's one for shirts, for cars, etc, so why not about Action Figures. I know I'm not the only one collecting them so here's a few favorites of mines

That's a hundred buck figure right there. Crazy expensive but I'm seriously thinking of getting it. I've always had a special place in my heart for Joes and this one is awesome

Now that's a killer Joker figure. I own the first version DC Direct made. They smelled the moneys and made an even better one. Thankfully, this one's out of my price range at close to 200cad$

Now here are two classics, Optimus Prime and Megatron in their G1 appearance, they call those "Masterpiece" editions. They look extremely close to the comic in gun/vehicle form AND robot form. I only have Optimus. Megatron is hard to find : /

So that was only a couple of my favorites.

Feel free to share your favorites, rare finds, figs you greatly anticipate, rare editions, limited runs, etc. : )

Cue Superspork in 3.. 2.. 1..

No actually it might take him a bit to discover this as he tends not to post much anymore, but his bedroom is some kind of 5 year old kid's dream room.

I don't have any.

My collection is mostly robots, etc. I had like 12 Macross 1/48 figures until recently.

I've got tons of Star Wars and GI Joe action figures from my childhood, but they are now in possession of my son, and VERY well used....

I only have master chief and a napleon dynamite figure in storage. However, I kick myself in the face when I didnt get the special edition for Bioshock to get this:

However I'm glad I waited so I could this one shown at comic con:

For for reason this one looks way better then the se edition for bioshock. It's paint job for the first one is horrid and the figure just looks off. I have no idea what it costs but i always loved the concept of the Big Daddy for some reason. If I could have one action figure on my desk, it would be that.

Bah, my camera died a couple weeks ago and I haven't found a replacement yet.

Most of my favorite figures are the Revoltech and Figma series. I buy far too many anime figures.

I did happen to luck out a year or so ago and was able to sell a Tetsujin 28 Godaikin figure I received for Christmas long long ago for just over $2800. That shut up one of my friends that used to laugh at me for collecting these things.

The "Play Arts" line from Square-Enix is one of my favorites; they're very nice for the bargain price (usually around $30).

I don't buy a lot: usually only for games I've spent 100+ hours on.

I'm very disappointed Play-Asia has already presold all their Rise (persona 4) figures, they weren't even due out until October!

Does the Rosie O'Donnell Barbie count? I actually got this as a present from my brother in law when I was about 28 or so. I'm still wondering who thought this was a good idea.

I have bags full of WWF/WCW wrestling action figures and GI Joes at home. I wonder if they're worth anything yet...

I had some Cowboy Bebop figurines, but the cat killed them and they appear to be discontinued :p I do have this one on my desk at work though:

Next to my blob containment capsule (my blob is green):

Hmm.. I have a Megaman and a Riza Hawkeye from FullMetal Alchemist. And a recently purchased Sasword from Kamen Rider Kabuto.

I don't collect them, but I bought a figure from the goodwill today on a whim. It's the White Rabbit from American McGee's Alice. 'Cept he's black, not white. Kinda hoping its worth a buck or two and I can unload it on ebay. Is there a place in internetland where I can research things like this to see if its worth selling?

Whats her special power?

I have half a dozen figurines from FFVII and VIII, my wife has Anya (from BTVS) in a bunny costume.

There is a fairly recent figure of Cloud and his bike from FFVII that i'd love to get but it's $70 so i'll probably wait.

My fallout bobble head is what's on my desk at work (and HL2 posters, do those count?), I have a lot of other crap at home.

I have less than no interest in the GI Joe movie, but I did just catch myself looking at some of the new (or re-issued, or anniversary, or whatever) action figures, i.e. dolls, on Amazon. It's tempting to pick up a few just for old times' sake.

Does anyone collect the DC Universe figures?

I just bought Booster Gold and Blue Beetle (series 7, figs 3-4), and each of them come with a LEG for Atom Smasher. I'm really probably never going to collect the other 5 figures in the set, so if anyone needs the legs, let me know.

Me and my son assembled a whole bunch of Gundams and Zeons back in the day... Need to find pics on the interwebs. Oh and we have a few FF Advent Children action figs.

Instead of figures, we switched to making papercraft models from Canon's Creative Park website. Best bonding pastime.

Behold the music of the future!!!

Duuude! That's silly

Speaking of which...

IMAGE(http://www.geekologie.com/2008/06/18/big-lebowski-1.jpg)

I got that in my living room, with his rug (which is awful)

They pissed on my rug, man!

It really tied the room together.

Anyone else find irony in the fact that nearly everyone in this thread has "action" figures on their desk?

I have the Big Daddy from the BioShock SE, the Vault Boy bobblehead, and some Star Wars Episode 1 figures still in the boxes because I thought they'd be worth something some day. Anyone know if they are?

I know that the Big Daddy is $30-$60 by itself, depending on condition. It's upwards of $100 if you have the original box, game, etc. Vault Boy goes for around $25.

Since Everyone and their mom bought Episode 1 figures and ultimately, the prequels disappointed, no. They're actually worth less than what you paid them new which is kinda rare for MOC figs. Your only hope is that in a fit of rage, the millions of people who bought them and kept them sealed throw them in the fire in spite.

... And that eventually people appreciate Episode 1 enough to want the action figures out of nostalgia.

Me desk is nice and clean of any dorky action figures!

Well, except for this:

Figures I have at my work desk.

Don't forget about Buddy Christ!

I only wish there were TF2 figures. I would buy them all.

I have all that stuff, but it's not sealed, of course. Good to know.

Sucks to hear about the Episode 1 stuff, but I kinda figured. I'll probably give it to my nephew someday.
