McGuckin has been slowly spreading from his own site, to the US Patent Office, to Wikipedia, to Gamasutra, and yesterday to our very own GWJ.

My thoughts about him as a person aside, he may be my favorite meme of the past couple years. I wonder if I could get him tied in with Keyboard Cat.

The patent itself is even MORE delicious!

Marvin Heemeyer of Granby, Colorado was a profoundly frustrated muffler repair man. In the late 1990s–after years of protests, petitions, and town meetings–it became obvious to the 52-year-old that he was entwined in a gross miscarriage of justice. His business was ruined by some shady zoning changes, and Heemeyer contended that mayor and city council were corrupt. Even as he was forced to give up his legal fight and sell his land, he hatched one last plan to secretly retool his muffler shop to serve a single malevolent purpose: to construct a machine that would allow him to exact his revenge upon those who had wronged him.

Do you ever say WTF? in a good way? I have.

Maybe a driving distraction. Some NSFW:

I cannot believe I did not know about this until now. Wow.

A couple sites. If these are reposts, my apologies.

#1) http://www.postsecret.com If you don't know about it, time to click the link.

#2) NSFW but very funny, http://getmortified.com

Well, piece of news really (or do we have "Post news, entertain me!" topic already?):

I'm curious, but haven't clicked. In what ways might this be unsafe for work?

For a time we have had an empty plinth in Trafalgar Square. For a while artists filling the plinth with random statues, etc. Recently Antony Gormley had the idea of letting people stand on the plinth for an hour each (day and night) here is the live cam. I went up to London recently and sat there for an hour with a friend watching. It was fun in an arty sort of a way.

Not sure if this was posted but I thought it needed sharing.

That's awesome but I was hoping that people actually posted full profiles, etc. It'd be interesting to see real-life people having virtual relationships as zombies.

I was hoping for the same.

The Unemployed Philosophers Guild. I thought it was a different type of site than what it is, but it's got some interesting stuff there.

A couple of the videos use some language that may be unsuitable for the work place. Particularly one in which a girl reads her journal from when she was about 15... It's hysterically funny, but definitely NSFW.

I was disappointed when your Earthbound had nothing to do with the great SNES game of the same name.

That wal-mart site would be hilarious if it wouldn't remind me of the people that I DID work with back in the day. Ah well.

Great find, Trachalio. Turns out that guy's done a whole series of stormtrooper photos.

World-record holders of BAC. Congrats to the Eastern Europeans for a strong showing. Also, no Ted Kennedy?

I won't spoil the BAC of the winner for you, but it's....high.

Amazing that most of these people are still alive.
