Warehouse 13 - SciFi TV series

Pages

Anyone else watching this? It's pretty good. I'm really enjoying the series, it's like an x-files comedy one off episode except it's like that all the time.

Interesting point of fact. I worked with the lead actress Joanne Kelly on a CBC miniseries called "Diamonds" a few years ago.

Definitely worth checking it out.

I've seen a couple of episodes. I think its actually rather good. The chemistry between the two leads works very well. I'm gonna keep watching.

I've been enjoying this one so far. Yay for Hulu!!! I gave up cable TV last November. I don't plan on going back.

I watched the pilot on Hulu a few weeks ago and was pretty impressed. It was probably the best Scifi channel pilot I've seen and I'll be watching it. Did the full season start up? Is there more than just the pilot on Hulu?

There's three episodes on there now, plus the pilot. Move quick, because the ancient crusty licensing deals are going to force them off again soon.

My wife and I have been loving this show. It's got a fun, quirky sense of humor and the chemistry between the leads is great. Looking forward to it every week.

Yah, my wife and I have been watching this since the pilot, really enjoyable. One part Friday the 13th the series, one part Xfiles. Oh, and Joanne Kelly was also in the Dresden files tv show as "Bianca".

Sorry but it is SyFy now. You all are so unhip.

They're making some interesting choices. The focus on objects that make good people do bad things puts it more in line with Eureka than X-Files. There aren't any true villains in the show yet, which strikes me as a brave choice in a science fiction show.

I'm actually boycotting the network due to the name change.

Insanity. You're going to miss the SyFy original movie Malibu Shark Attack on Saturday night. We're talking prehistoric sharks attacking people on land after being washed ashore by a tsunami, and you want to boycott the channel? You're nuts.

I really enjoy that while the agents are like oil and water, they are actual adults and get along. Thier quirks are just that, quirks. I'm not sitting there shouting "Grow the f*ck up!" That and the scientist is pretty funny. His nonchalant comments are always entertaining.

Check out the actress or the show?

Anyone remember the show Friday the 13th? It has that vibe to it with the whole hunting down objects thing, only with a lighter tone. My wife and are digging it.

I think "Sifffy" has been heading down the wrong path for years. BSG and now this seem to be the channel's only redeeming qualities.

Could be.

One thing I learned with Eureka is not to trust in the long-term survival or fleshing out of story arcs in first seasons. The hacker may be evil or may not be, though it would make sense for him/they to be evil

I'm really liking it. They had to rush the 'getting to like each other' a bit, but overall, it's quite good.

I don't think I've seen a series based on a GURPS source book before.

Sounds cool, I'll have to Hulu this and catch up.

I'm going to say both.

I really enjoyed this last episode.

The football is the true star of the show.

I feel like they still have some growing to do with the characters but I also understand they're basically setting up the relationship even three episodes in. Still, good enough for me to keep TiVoing and watching it.

Also, don't forget to Think Different, or whatever it is that they're now using as their new catchphrase.

Just finally got caught up on all of the Hulu content. They really have something good here, I hope Syfy doesn't muck up the show or allow it to become too formulaic. In a way, it almost reminds me of Buffy. Not from a character archtype perspective but the way the characters interact with each other splashing humor with seriousness and never missing a beat.

Also, that scene reaching through the guillotine had me gasping. Just something really freaked me out in a good way.

Lastly, I am super jealous of the work the set & prop departments have done. The steampunk equipment (even the PC w/ stylized keyboard & multi-touchpad) is really unique looking for a show like this. And there's so much nuance to the Warehouse itself and Artie's office that I'm constantly peering around looking for neat bits or potential easter eggs.

I'd say Fringe hews more in the direction of The X-Files while this definitely reminds me more of Friday the 13th: The Series. It hasn't really grabbed me, yet, though, and I can't put my finger on just why.

I think that's this guy's work. I would kill to be able to make that kind of stuff.

I really enjoyed the pilot episode for this one. Promising show. It's got that usual "guy's instincts are better than years of training" bullsh*t going on, but in a world filled with magic, that's pretty excusable.

Just watched the pilot this week and it was amusing but not excellent. I'm going to give it some time (it took 10 episodes for me to actually warm up to The Fringe)

The problem I have with all of these shows is that I end up comparing them to the x-files, which is one of my all time favorites. And none of them really stack up to writing and characters.

I got a bit miffed with the third episode and stopped about halfway through. The protagonists are acting like spoiled children, not Secret Service agents. Really blew my suspension of disbelief, and I'm not sure I'll pick it back up again.

I don't know about you all, but I think this show just keeps getting better. The latest episode was a lot of fun to watch.

I agree with Malor-- although at this point they have given in to the notion that they are Warehouse agents. I don't know though-- cool premise (X-Files meets The Librarian) but the acting is too bad and the FX too cheap. I like some of the characters and am interested in seeing where the show takes them, but the show itself has come across as a bit formulaic (sent on a job, get resistance from local PD, find artifact, almost get in serious trouble, save the day, the end) and the whole Indian thing in New York just irked me-- again, bad acting and horrible special effects.

All that said, though, I still find myself following the Hulu link to the show on occasion, although I'll probably stop watching entirely once new episodes of Burn Notice are up...

They need to dress Myka up more like the Vegas episode.

Other than that minor request I like it a lot. It is formulaic but I can shut my brain off and go on cruise control which is nice every once and a while.

I agree. I've been watching it as it pops into my Hulu queue, and I really enjoy it.

The characters are a lot of fun. I'll admit it's formulaic (although the latest episode bucks the formula) and often cheesy, but that's part of the fun for me.
