Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

Official site

Not mentioned is that it features the voice talents of Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, and Clancy Brown.

How odd. If I recall correctly, the comic was a vaguely interesting elseworlds kind of thing, nothing worthy of it's own movie. They should concentrate more on the good stuff, like they did with New Frontier.

Looks pretty good to me. I never read those SUPERMAN/BATMAN comics, but the story looks relatively interesting. Also really like the new "NOT Bruce Timm" art style-- glad to see these DVD movies really attempting to maintain the distinctive style of the individual artists responsible for the source material.

I've got a few of the Batman/Superman trades. Public Enemies was pretty good. Supergirl was like reading Witchblade. The third (name escapes me) was, I thought, very well done. The 4th was batsh*t loco insane and I stopped buying them after that.

Yea, I like it too. It is definitely inspired by Ed Mcguinness' art stylings.

Kevin Conroy? Sounds good to me. As far as I'm concerned, he IS the Batman, there can be no other. Adam West? No. Michael Keaton? Feh. Val Kilmer? Puh-lease. Christian Bale? HAH! If it's not Kevin Conroy, forget it!

You forgot George Clooney. Or possibly your traumatized mind excised all memories of him in that role - I wouldn't blame you.

You don't remember the nipples? They don't haunt your dreams?

I'm Batman!

I did like the story line but it was kind of stupid. I dropped the comic after that story line. I can see them doing a movie of it and only needing to cutout of the crazier parts of the comic.

How can Batman possibly hold a candle to Superman without some craziness and a metric f*ckton of kryptonite?

They don't fight each other... they work together as a team.

The Superman/Batman comic is the newest post-2000 incarnation of the "World's Finest Comics" title that teamed DC's two most popular characters in the same title. Each character has their own strengths and weaknesses, so while Superman doesn't seem like he'd ever need anyone's help, the writers manage to find ways for them to work together.

Not to give away any spoilers, but in a certain legendary graphic novel, Batman pretty much completely dominates Superman.

But to be fair, he used Kryptonite

Yeah, so, kryptonite.

Yeah, so, kryptonite.

Why does kryptonite have anything to do with working together? Each character can do things the other can't, as I said. Superman is weak to magic, Batman is smarter, etc.

I will definately check this out and I am not a Superman fan. Or even really a Batman one outside of the current movies and the animated series.

Think of it this way. All of villainy and a good portion of superhero-dom is dead set on bringing Batman and Superman down. Superman takes on all the uber strong enemies and Bats takes on all the less super strong enemies.

That's one of my favorite bits in all of comics, and about the only cool thing Green Arrow's ever done.

I was a big fan of the majority of this run, up till the issue where about six thousand different people contributed, so this is cool.

And these animated flicks are always a good watch.

There has been some really good animated low budgetish comic adaptations recently.

Streamed Justice League: The New Frontier a couple months ago. I really liked it. I haven't read many, if any, Justice League comics. I am a big fan of the batman/superman team up stories. Reading those made me take a second look at some of the better superman stuff out there.

I don't think Batman is that overshadowed by Superman....he makes up for the lack of super strength with super preparedness.
