Arma 2 Catch All

I'll likely be in. Do we just coordinate in Vent at an unspecified time?

Question: If I place a satchel charge, how do I go about finding it again? Why would anyone want to ever set off a satchel charge? Why is that an option?

Oh after you all went to bed I found us a new coop operation to play tonight.

Supports 12 people and runs smooth I played it for a few hours with some ai buddies to test it out.

See this what I do for you all!

Who is in tonight?

I am in Wired. Hit me on STEAM when we are ready - wish you had told me you were still playing - I didnt end up in bed for another 3 hours. There are a couple of persistent ones out there as well - played one on Old Farts and then another server - seems pretty good as well.

Satchel charges are great for destroying things like radars and radio antennas. Can be used effectively for ambushing vehicle columns as well.

No, I mean why would I want the option to set it off by hand?

Is there a way to remotely set off a satchel charge? I've only been able to set it on a timer.

Set off by hand is for Ambushes, Set off by timer is generally used for destroying static objectives. You can remotely set it off by moving away after the satchel has been placed, your scroll menu will include "Touch off "x" satchels".

Danjo:
Vent between 8 and 9 CST.

I will put up a 12 man listen server as soon as S can break free from the wife.

Sorry Spy, I didn’t intend on playing more I was surfing for missions and could be a bit frustrating for some one else to do as i play till i see a bug then trash the session and the map etc.

But if you are down for that next time I will gladly have you along it is a bit boring to yell at the AI for crashing my Hind.

I'll be up for tonight.

Is there no interest in the domination coop mod?

There is I am working on how to get it set up for jake.

I'm in tonight. I play the single player campaign a bit when I get home, but just letting you guys know I haven't played this type of game since the first ARMA first came out.

rgr that. Thanks.

Nuka, don't worry about skill level dude. The goal is to just have fun. Hell last night I killed more cows and civis then opfor.

I am going to buy this tonight. Damn you all. My not be done downloading by the time you guys are playing, but Argh! I just bought another bloody GWJ-induced game.

FYI, there's a PDF manual on the Steam page, here's the direct link: http://store.steampowered.com/manual...

And then there's the fan-made extensive guide to tactics, techniques, and procedures:

Been reading through some of this throughout the work day. I would love to print all this out, bind it, and read it on my train ride home.

Wife just said attempt 2 of my new video card just showed up. So here is to hoping this one works.

Mine likely won't be here until tomorrow, for today is Canada Day! WOO!

I know that anxious feeling well, good luck man.

Been playing it all day. Its a blast.

I'd like to play tonight although have no xp with coop yet.

I probably wont be on tonight, and that makes me sad

Otherwise, has anyone tried creating any "missions"? I've been messing around a bit trying to make a parachute drop happen, but the AI's are too stupid to jump out of the C-130. I haven't found any kind of manual for the editor, anyone know of good tutorial sites?

Likewise. Work decided to be a Female Doggo, today.

Ill try to make it - Canada day and all, might be tough.

Also I'm heading out on a 3 day canoe trip tomorrow so I really should get ready.

Man I hate this game. Was there an update or something? Now that it asks whether I want to play in full or window mode (I've tried both) as soon as I get in game (MP) the game crashes.

EDIT:And makes steam crash and in SP it forces my computer to reboot. Guess I'll be waiting for Modern Combat 2...

That is odd karma. Try doing the steam virfy files thing.

This game is really not very good. To expand on that, it's like that example movie. You spend 5-10 minutes walking through empty land then die instantly to an invisible foe. It's like a deer hunting game where you play the f*cking deer.

Thanks for the co-op games tonight. I had fun!

My reluctance to update my video card drivers for months has finally caught up with me. Sorry for the sudden bailing guys, I'll get the drivers up to snuff for next time.

Fun while it lasted, though! Interesting playing a mission where you have to split forces and manage some key timing. There were a couple times my bacon was saved because I trusted someone else to cover a blind spot for me.

Tried the training tonight and I suck. Also, the mouse delay is really irritating. So far, not so happy with the purchase. Perhaps that will change over time.

Ah. One of the things that the big crazy dominion mod does is that it turns off all the bushes, shrubs and grass cover. The reason it does this is that the AI doesn't check any of those when its spotting targets, so I can feel rightfully indignant that I keep being shot by people I can't see that couldn't possibly see me either.

The singleplayer is super fun time. I really like how the campaign starts off really narrow and then broadens in scope.

So far my favorite moment has been hoofing it down the street, just looking around, with my squad following in a jeep. I turn around just in time to see my second in command announce that he is in charge as the jeep crushes me. That is not how you're supposed to get a promotion, soldier!

Also I found a city of prostitutes. Well, I assume they're prostitutes. Definitely whores.

Hit detection on the launched grenades seems a little wonky. I'm getting a lot of grenades wedged into people that then don't explode, even if I then shoot the grenade as it wavers in their thigh.

Hunting the sniper was so fantastic. There needs to be a mode where they set you loose into the world to hunt snipers, and then take their rifles as trophies back to base.
