Whether your passion is classic American muscle cars, European roadsters, purpose-built race cars or high-tech Asian imports, "Forza Motorsport 3" puts you in the cockpit of the cars you love. In addition to the return of world-famous tracks from previous "Forza Motorsport" games, including Suzuka, Nürburgring Nordschleife and the Sebring International Raceway, "Forza Motorsport 3" invites you to conquer the corners on more than 100 tracks, including some of the most beautiful road courses in the world. Redefining the Modern Racing Game
"Forza Motorsport's" appreciation of the automobile is due in large part to the team's attention to detail. This is why automotive engineers from manufacturers like Audi and champion race teams like Peugeot as well as experienced computer graphics specialists from across Microsoft have all teamed up with Turn 10 to make "Forza Motorsport 3" the most beautiful and realistic racing game ever made. All 400-plus cars in the game have been built with more than 10 times the amount of polygons as "Forza Motorsport 2." This includes painstakingly researched cockpits and interiors for every vehicle. But realism isn't just about pretty graphics. Turn 10 takes realism to new heights, leading the industry with the most advanced physics model, artificial intelligence and damage calculations.

Forza is for Everyone

It's easy to go for a spin: "Forza Motorsport 3" redefines the racing genre by blurring the definition of simulation and arcade. Simulation games can be too hard for some players. "Forza Motorsport 3" rises above the distinction between simulation and arcade games by using a myriad of cutting-edge driving and gameplay assists such as auto-braking, gameplay rewind and auto-tuning. "Forza Motorsport 3" delivers an experience where everyone can have fun behind the wheel, regardless of your skill and dexterity. Whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned racing game pro, "Forza Motorsport 3" caters to how you drive and the game evolves with you over time as your skills develop.

Express Your Car Passion
Painters and tuners will once again be able to showcase creativity through the celebrated Livery Editor, Auction House and deep tuning garage in "Forza Motorsport 3." The car is literally the artistic canvas as some of the world's most creative car painters and designers find new layers of depth and freedom to create shocking visual masterpieces before sharing them with others over Xbox LIVE*. Each car in "Forza Motorsport 3" is fully upgradable, allowing gear heads to take on the challenge of turning a Honda Civic into a supercar killer. New Xbox LIVE scoreboards celebrate not only the greatest racers but also the most prolific car tuners and painters in the community.

Play Your Way with All-New Game Modes
"Forza Motorsport 3" is an epic racing game featuring more content and more ways to play than any racing title today. An innovative single-player season mode puts you through a completely personalized racing calendar that includes more than 200 different events, including Circuit, Oval, Drag, Drift and Timed Events. No two calendars are the same; they react to the cars you love and the races you enjoy most. In addition, the online multiplayer mode* gains an all-new game rules editor. This gives players a never-ending variety of ways to play with friends. Whether you're a speedster, dragster, drifter, painter, tuner or just a lover of cars, "Forza Motorsport 3" is the definitive racing game for you.

I'm soo all over this.

Ditto that.

Sqe-elch for me. I'm not enough of a driving nut to fork over for this - Forza 2 is still good for the odd occasion when I want to blast around a track.

I'm interested to see how this affects gameplay, and in particular online play. I'm one of those that find Forza too hard to find enjoyable. How much will they dumb the game down for folks like me, and what will the real impact be on the Forza fanatics. It seems like having PGR as a separate series is a better plan. Of course, PGR has gotten progressively worse since PGR2, while Forza seems to have improved.

Will online racing be able to hold these two camps together?

Official video (all in engine):

E3 presentation:

Count me in too; Forza was the series that finally let me "get it" with regards to sim style racing, and while I'll still not be posing any threat in online competition I still intend to play the hell out of this game.

Historically, Forza has addressed these issues by allowing the hosts of online games to fine tune which driving assists will be allowable in the race. As a result, the hardcore can get the pure racing experience if they want, but at the same time they can play with people (like me) who will never be able to fully grasp the nuances of the full sim driving with everyone playing in a style that is comfortable to them. Granted, the skilled players who can get by without the assists still will generally perform better than those who need a bit of help from the computer, but at least in my experience Forza is all about finding fun ways for different kinds of players to interact with each other.

Day 1 purchase!

Six, just FYI the main/header/original post gets put at the top of each page, so you might want to cut the screens and stick those in their own reply post.

Nice. I'm all over this as well. Time to dust off the wheel.

I hope they use their new magic camera to control your head while in cockpit view. That'd be HOT!

Regardless, day 1 here as well.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw the game being shown at the press conference.

That E3 presentation sold me. If it looks as good as it did in the videos and screenshots and has game play equal or better than Forza 2, I can believe that this game will be the definitive racer of the generation... at least the definitive non-arcade racer of this generation.

All I have to say is:

* Hell
* Freaking
* Yes

I loved Forza 2, so I was really hoping to see this today, and it looks even more awesome than I imagined.

At first blush, I might be most excited about all the new tracks, and improved vistas. The only really complaint I could lodge against Forza 2 was that there were only a handful of tracks that were usually run, and most were rather dull to look at. Even if they're including different variations of the same location as separate tracks, we should have around twice as many locals to race in than Forza 2. And they'll look better too.

That, plus the fact that we'll now be able to do a proper in-car camera view, should add up to an even more immersive gameplay experience. This will most likely be enough to push me over the edge and finally pick up a wheel.

My only fear is that they'll be really pushing the hardware to the point of it melting. (*knocking on wood*)

I agree with Lupus. I did all the races, and eventually, I did get a bit sick of some of the tracks eventually. A bit more variety would have been appreciated. I'd also like to see a return of the point-to-point races. Those could be pretty fun.

Those screen shots are beautiful.

I will be all over this. Forza 2 is the only racing game I ever got into because it was so challenging that winning felt like a real accomplishment. Not that I ever won online, but the AI gave me enough of a challenge!

The game looks good, although to be honest that is just fluff. The images for Forza 2 looks jaw-dropping and the finished product is visually a bit meh. You can count that it will be meh because Forza demands that the game runs at 60fps, and that is more important to the series then the visuals.

Forza is actually a wonderful series. They just keep doing exactly what they're good at and loved for even though it isn't what will sell the most copies. Props to them.

So I love and suck at Forza 2 (curse you Lupus) but why do I not get a big jazz from this. It doesnt seem all that "woohoo" compared to Forza 2. I mean, I love it, I will ABSOLUTELY buy it, but I don't see "revolution" on this, I see "next."

I'm not sure what they could really do to revolutionise the genre, though. Beyond the graphical leap, was Forza 2 that much of a revolution over Forza 1? Forza 1 really set the standard for the genre, with its AI, damage modelling, and online features.

The only problem I had with Forza 2 was the relatively small number of tracks, so with that fixed, and the in-car view that looks great in demos but which I'll never use while playing added to keep up with competition, this should be an amazing game. You can bet that the video capture and editing features are going to be hugely popular with the car fanboys, too. It sounds like there's some more interesting stuff lurking in there, too, but we won't know for sure until people get their grubby mits on it.

Think of Forza as Flight Simulator for racing sim fans, and it'll make more sense. Incremental improvements are a big deal to the core fanbase.

Count me in the group of people where Forza 2 was the only racing sim that ever drew me in. The physics just felt so right. I am so excited to break out my force feedback wheel again!

The shots and new video look awesome.

Some people may not care about the in car view, but for me.. that's kind of huge. That was always one of the things I wanted most in Forza 2.

I hope we see some improvements to the community features. The car sharing and auction house stuff in Forza 2 was good, but it could have been streamlined more and made easier to use. Based on the past I have to say I'm really looking forward to see what Turn 10 does with all that stuff this time around.

This whole announcement makes me soooo glad I didn't bother with the half-assed release of Gran Turismo on the PS3.

So glad I held off getting FM2 and decided to wait for FM3. I'm not a huge racing fan, just wanted something fun and no problems waiting.

I'll never be able to try it out... but DAMN!!!!

That would be really awesome and I would totally go deep in credit card debt to do it, except that I don't have anywhere to set that up.

Man, rent it...Forza 2 is so awesome. I am with a lot of the crew that I wasn't ever into sim-type racing until I rented Forza 2. So. Very. Awesome. And, if you didn't see all the crazy car designs...pull up the Forza 2 thread and look at some of the awesome creations that folks made.

I'd really recommend renting just to get pumped for Forza 3!

Thin J hooked me on Forza 2 - I am so in for Forza 3.
