UN, IAEA, name North Korea as \"worst nuclear threat&quo

From MSNBC

Well, we can throw this out since we all know that Mr. El Baradei is unreliable when it comes to looking for evidence of nuclear weapons.

Ah hell, I can't even type that with a straight face.

Why not?

A couple of salient quotes:

If Iran, dubbed part of an ""axis of evil"" by Washington, has been enriching uranium without telling the IAEA, this would deepen U.S. suspicions that its nuclear ambitions go beyond its stated aim of using nuclear energy only to generate electricity.
the IAEA board of governors chided Iran for failing to report many aspects of its nuclear program and asked for more information on research and development in Iran''s uranium enrichment program

Regardless of the Justice League-like powers you attribute to the UN and the IAEA, unless the country in question is cooperative, they can get away with a lot.

It was because many are quick to dismiss the findings of the IAEA over Iraq, but now I bet they''d like to embrace these charges as facts.

You can file Mr. El Baradei''s conclusion under ""No, duhhh"". I guess it was really difficult for him to find weapons when the country is saying...""here they are! Here they are!"".

Ok, so now that the U.N. has finally decided that North Korea has nuclear weapons, what are they going to do about it? Or is it our responsibility again to save the world?

We''re the only ones with a competent military with full integration of all branches into a unified command structure.

So we should unilaterally deal with North Korea? I think our policy should be if North Korea fires one weapon at the South, Japan, us, or any other country, we will whipe them off the planet using our full nuclear power.

No, but I think we should take the lead, at least at the military level. Diplomatically, this needs to be hyperlateral (to use an Administration term).

Well, on the military level we would have to take the lead. No other country can do it.

I don''t believe that. S. Korea''s GDP and government receipts are 5 time that of N. Korea, Japan''s economy is probably 20 times larger, if not more.. Not to mention the fact that these countries are free and modern industrial powerhouses. Also, China and Russia both have interests in keeping N. Korea non-nuclear, and both could easily wipe N. Korea from the map. I say we stay out of it.

S. Korea doesn't want us talking tough to N Korea. Fine. Let''s take our troops out of Korea, period. Let the free countries of Asia take on their own defense burden, instead of me having to pay for it. We can still have a minor, diplomatic role, and of course let N. Korea know that the price of using their nuclear weapons is receiving several of ours.

Liberals wanted to contain Saddam Hussein and now they want to pay blackmail to Kim Chong-il. Forget that. Why pay blackmail to someone weaker than you?

Now, if we really have an interest in keeping N. Korea free of nuclear weapons and N. Korea is determined to get them, then break out the B-2''s, and flatten every site we think is related to their nuclear weapons production. That is the only way. If we don''t do that, I guarantee you that N. Korea will have a small, but certainly regionally significant nuclear arsenal within the decade.

I do not think we should take any troops out of Korea. We are the worlds police force and we better accept it.

f*ckit, massive SLBM attack on ALL major military facilities NOW. Don''t let the pathetic dictator keep his toys.
