SW: KOTOR Goes gold

According to a link on Evil Avatar from Console Gold, it will ship 7/16.

Now, I have never really enjoyed Bioware RPG's. I've always liked the Black Isle Counterparts much better. Am I going to be suckered in again?

Oh wait this is for XBox first. Since I dont have an XBox, I'm safe.

I''m not safe, which is ok.

Fortunately for me I like both developers games. And I like SW. And I have an Xbox. That means I''m really looking forward to 7/16.

Certis, you guys planning to do a write up for this one? Not that I''ll be waiting mind you.

Hmm, my first foray into RPG''s, PlaneScape Torment, was an abysmal failure. Now I seem to fare better with Fallout 2 as it keeps sucking me in but I''m not sure I would like KotOR. Not safe at all though with my Xbox

Hurry the hell up and release the PC version dammit! This has been one of my most wanted games since they announced it. I hope I''m not going to be dissapointed as I was in NWN.

I''m sure we''ll have something to say about it once it hits stores. Elysium will probably get it first since he''s in the states so be sure to ask him come release day.

I thought downloadable pants crafting content wasn''t coming to the XBox version until fall.

That would be the PC version, Sway, which comes with the special character classification ""Pants Crafter.""

You can design them in the release build. You just cant actually make them till the patch. Oh wait! I must be thinking of SWG.

Hmm... maybe that''s not right either.

Tell Mr. Rogers I''ll be at my home in the land of make believe =P

I''m holding out hope that pants crafting will be the downloadable content.

Isn''t this the one that is supposed to have downloadable content via XBox live? Who wants to bet part of that ""content"" will be a patch?

EDIT: Damn, that''s what happens when I start a reply and then do actual work before I post it. Damn work...

I always confuse them. What hs bioware done? I thought they were responsible for PS:T and Fallout series.

You know, I''d love a Star Wars Adventure in the old lucas arts style. I always wonder why that never happened.

No, PT and Fallout 1&2 were developed by Black Isle Studios. BioWare created the Baldur''s Gate games (except the Dark Alliance-spin-off), NWN and MDK2 among other things.

I thought Black Isle was a part of Bioware.

No Black Isle was part of Interplay. Black Isle published some of Bioware''s games as did Interplay. Black Isle uses the Infinity engine developed by Bioware.

I thought MDK2 was Shiny?

Hmm, yeah, wasn''t MDK 2 Shiny? OR just the first MDK? Both were pretty good in any case.

MDK 1 was Shiny, MDK 2 was Bioware.

I''ve ordered my copy.

So, is anybody going to wait for the PC version or do you think it''ll be a dead duck?

I''ll probably wait for some reviews, but It looks promising. I saw the bit on the front page about the glowing reviews it''s getting sofar, but none of those have finished the game. Sounds like Bioware + SW fanboy syndrome to me, the combination can''t be good. I''ll have to wait for a few more reviews, because by and large I don''t like RPGs. Black Isle is my only real exception, otherwise I usually don''t like an RPG so I''ll have to see if KOTOR floats my boat or not.

I was meant if you thought they were still going to bother with the PC version. A certain cynical X-Boxer, who shall remain nameless, has predicted that the PC version won''t see the light of day and so far hasn''t recanted.

It''s coming out for the PC this fall, it''s not something Bioware has ever danced around or hinted at. It has always been the clearly stated intention.

So was Halo....

So was Halo....

Last time I checked BioWare wasn''t property of Microsoft.

Halo was little past concept when Microsoft bought Bungie. Do you really think Bioware has any need to sell themselves to Microsoft?

Don''t answer that.

We''ll, they''re wrong. I talked to the guys at E3 about this and they said 100% it is coming to the PC.

Yet! My Precious...

Well, and to be fair Halo IS coming out for the PC, just not when we all thought it should have.

Yeah, only after the sales on the XBox have significantly slowed....

And to stir up hype and start the buzz machine for Halo 2.

Are we really all that surprised by this? We''ve been subjected to it since the PSX arrived.
