Killing Floor Catch-All

I hope some more people will buy this game soon so I can play with you all. $15 bucks is a good deal.

I picked this up a while back and I'm pre-loading it now. Very anxious to try it out.

I'm down with the sickness.

Preloaded and ready to pop some zombie heads.

Cocked and pre-loaded. Now where are those Zombies?!

Day 1 (this Thursday) we need a get together. Feel free to add me on steam as crockpot77 but I'm sure we will meet on vent.

Would like to hear what you guys think after playing the game.

Ditto. I like the look of this, but I've been doing a lot of impulse buying lately and I don't want to spend the cash unless this game ends up being decent.

I preloaded today, probably can't play on Thursday but I will be online this weekend.

Same here. I'm a lot more stingy with my money these days, especially since I just dropped a bucket on a hotel stay and registration for PAX.

I haven't heard a thing about this. Its getting no press and no buzz. Strange.

I'm in the same boat, I'd kill for a demo. I'm definitely interested, but not enough for a impulse purchase. Guess we'll see what type of reception the game gets on release.

I'm also concerned with how many goodjers are going to be playing and how long the game will keep their interest.

Preloaded and ready for action.

Well, if you are interested, you should definitely watch this. VE3D has video from two complete 'short' matches on the levels Western London and Biotic Labs.

Tripwire Interactive's six-player, co-op, survival horror first-person shooter, Killing Floor, arrives tomorrow on Steam, and ahead of that launch, we've teamed up with the developer to film forty minutes of raw gameplay footage from two of the game's five maps. Uninterrupted, these videos have no commentary, because you don't want some British bloke mumbling over the incredibly amusing and entertaining zombie slaying.

Please note that the first set of videos depict a 'short' match on normal difficulty, and the second set a 'medium' play through, again on normal difficulty. Graphics settings were maxed out on an Intel Q6600, with 4GB of RAM and a 1GB ATI Radeon 4870.

Hmm I was considering giving this a go but after looking at those gameplay vids I'm actually quite disappointed. Seems to be lacking quite a bit of polish IMO.

Plus these zombies look scary.

Is anybody going to play tonight? Let me know so we can get together.

I'm planning on giving it a try.

I'm teaching tonight, so it's probably a no go for me. I'll be up for all kinds of carnage tomorrow, though.

I'll be on tonight, and on the weekend. Friend me up on Steam if you're planning to play (see sig).

I have downloaded it as well.

ok, now I've played it... while it's lacking some polish and the voice acting IS pretty awful, that's about all I can say negatively about it.

The game really seems to hit everything I wanted from L4D and didn't get. The pacing is close to CoD:WaW Nazi Zombies which I love. The way the trader works keeps you mobile but you still have the option of 'last stand' moments. The welding and unwelding of doors adds quite a bit to the gameplay. The perk system works very well and I really like the idea of specialized team members.

Looking forward to playing with you guys, hit me up on Steam!

I'm definitely not very good at this yet TK'd my first teammate and then got slaughtered the next wave.

I've been reading a lot of reports that the server browser is broken and most people can't connect to games. I pre-ordered this but haven't tried it yet. I really hope it doesn't have Demigod Syndrome.

I wouldn't say the server browser is broken, I just have the feeling that their master server is getting hit hard right now. It took a little while to find connect to a game, but once I did it was pretty good fun. I played the West London map so far with a pub group and I ended being the last man standing on the 5th wave with over 80 specimens left. Lets just say we didn't survive that one.

While it's comparable to Left 4 Dead, Killing Floor has none of the narrative qualities of L4D and it definitely has a mod feel. But I don't feel bad for buying it, I think with a good group of people it will still be excellent fun, and I hope that Tripwire is able to provide support with more content down the road.

Ya, from my experience it is VERY hard to get into a game but once you are in, you're in for good. It's funny because I stayed on a server for hours because I knew it would be very hard to get back in.

My apology if anybody wanted to play tonight, I just didn't want to leave a server.

I like the persistence with the upgrade system, things like that really keep me hooked to multiplayer games. I haven't really played enough to give any kind of major impressions, but seems pretty neat so far.

My recommendation would be not to buy this game. Even at 15 dollars I feel I have wasted my money. This game is an O.K. mod nothing more. If you have L4D the only reason you should get this is to make you realize how good L4D is.

1st off the server browser: It is a hunk of junk it never refreshes properly and half the time you can not connect to servers even when they have a slot.

Gameplay which is uninspired. After playing for a while you realize all of the polish that went into L4D.

Perks: Some of the perks do not work and some of the achievements that need to be completed to level them up do not record at all or do not record properly.

Graphics: I am not a graphics whore by any stretch of the imagination but they are not very good. The animations are very bad and half of the time there are no death animations for the zombies

Servers: Every single server I was on that had more than 4 people became horribly laggy. Even ones I was getting a 20-40 ping on would shoot up to 500-999. Would work fine with 3 or 4 but after that it always went straight into the toliet.

I haven't had any problems yet other than the server browser, but that is easily solved by using Steam's server browser instead of the in-game one and it works just fine. We played several hours of 6 player games and nobody went over 120 ping, most were between 40-80.

definitely lacking some polish though, but I find the gameplay more fun to me than L4D was.
