So here she is in a cat bag before the nail trim:

I really want a cat bag. Does it come with bungee cord tie downs? I now need to quickly clear my browser cache before my cats see this and launch an offensive.

The bag has a zipper from the front to the back. The front has a velcro strap that wraps around the neck of the cat. I know www.drsfostersmith.com has them.

And that cat muzzle basically looks like a BDSM contraption.

Pretty nifty. We've always just wrapped the cat in a big towel, but then getting at their paws is kinda difficult.

This is Sammy, taken last July. We weren't ready to have a dog in our house, (No fenced yard and already have 3 cats) but she fell into our posession and she's awesome. Some dirtbags abandoned her, left her tied to a picnic table on a 90 degree day with no food or water. She's about a year old now.

Edit: I forgot that I had a couple photos on my phone.

This is recent Sammy.

And one of her favorite things to do is pull me around the neighborhood on my skateboard. She's just over 30 pounds and she can pull my 260 pound self around for quite some distance. I have to call her off or she'd just run and run until she dropped I think. On a flat stretch she can pull me faster than I can push myself.

Last night while I was feeding the cats, I heard some crying from the bedroom, and found Little Darryl panting heavily, crying, and unable to use his back legs. We took him to the emergency clinic, and within minutes, the vet told us the bad news.

He apparently had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which shows no symptoms, but had caused him to throw clots into his lungs and gave him an aortic saddle embolus, which almost instantly and permanently paralyzed him from the waist down, which is why his legs wouldn't work when I picked him up. The surgery would likely have killed him, and even if it didn't, the same thing would've happened again within weeks/months, and he would have been unable to walk and have to have constant oxygen and painkillers and life in at least mild discomfort for the rest of his life.

They put him in an oxygen tank and gave him some painkillers and sedatives so we could spend about 3 hours with him before having to decide to put him down. I held him while they did it at 9:30 last night. I found him, Big Darryl, and their sister when they were just weeks old about 9 years ago, and we've had him ever since.

I'm not sure what it's going to be like to take a shower without someone waiting until I've been in there for five minutes before incessantly crying at the door to be let in. It was already sad enough not having him laying on my head while I slept last night, and I even missed him pulling out my hair when he turned around on the pillow.

RIP, little buddy.

Oh Bonus, I'm so sorry.

Little Darryl looks like a great cat, and I'm glad you guys at least had 9 good years together, and that he didn't suffer for long.

Off to hug the animals in our house now.

So sorry about your loss! Little Darryl looked adorable, I love the picture of him under the rug there.

Oh my gosh, that is terrible. I am very sorry for your loss.

Man, that's awful, Bonus. I know how you feel, our adopted cat died recently too. My condolences

That's horrible Bonus. Especially so suddenly. You're all in my thoughts.

Sorry about Little Darryl. It's sad when you lose a pet.

Here is a picture of Clawdette, our new kitten. Aidan (in the blue collar) and Petrice, our Golden's can't quite believe there is a new fuzz-ball around the house. And our Rottie-Shepard, Sammy, is equally annoyed.

A LoLCAT I made up with Sam and Clawdette.

And here, you can see why we called her Clawdette. She's polydactyl.

My condolences on the loss of your cat, Bonus. I hope the good memories will soon outweigh the pain of separation.

I'm so sorry to hear it Bonus.

Sorry to hear about the cat. I know I would be devastated were my cat to pass away.

Bonus, I'm so sorry to hear about Little Darryl. Looking at the pictures, he had a GREAT life filled with love and adventure. Now I need to go play with Greyson (who looks a bit like LD) and the other two feline overlords.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Bonus.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Bonus. I lost one of my cats to the same condition 5 years ago, and it sucked big time. Glad to hear that you gave him 9 happy years in a loving home.

*hugs*
There is always a hole where a furball used to be.

Thanks, everyone. It's been a tough weekend without him, and the other tardcats are finally realizing he's really gone. We got him and Big Darryl a pair of Kitty Holster harnesses, and he spent about 15 minutes early last week walking around the house backwards trying to get out of his. Said it made him look fruity. Now I wish I'd gotten some video of that.

Those harnesses look awesome. The regular ones never stay on correctly.

I had a big Maine Coon Cat that deeply scratched his ear open. When we got him stitched up the vet put one of those "satellite dish" collars on him. poor thing walked backwards for 2 hours trying to back out of it. When he finally got tired and realized it wasn't coming off he looked even funnier going forward. He would swing his head left and right with each step as he walked becasue the dish blocked his peripheral view. He walked like a snake with legs. Man, I wish I had a video camera back then. He was 19 pounds (no fat) of entertainment.

Clawdette's been trying to get outside a lot lately. May have to pick one up for her. Take her for a walk with the dogs. That would be a riot!

When we had our dog spayed, she had to have an Elizabethan Collar, too, and she hated it. It was funny to take her outside in it, though, as it was winter and she shoveled snow up into it as she sniffed around. Eventually, she figured out how to remove it, so we just left it off.

My now 6 month old (and 30 kg) Rhodesian Ridgeback pup. I think the pics are from when she was about 2 months old.

Also pics of my beagle x cavalier, now 3.5 years old. The first two pics are when we had just picked her up, she was about 8 weeks old.

Just found this picture while clearing out the SD card in my camera. It's my 14-year-old Siamese, Major Tom, at his current favourite resting spot. As you can see, now even when sleeping he feels like he needs to compete with my PC for attention.

Cute picture. And is that Mass Effect I see on the pc? Good choice!

In my avatar, and here:

As usual, the kitten (Shadow) was sleeping against my leg while I was on the computer. Then the other cat (Monster) strolled over and proceeded to just rest his fat butt on top of the kitten and part of the laptop and fell asleep. Didn't seem to bother Shadow any.
Shadow is 7 months old and Monster is 5 years old.

Here is our new fur baby, Isobel, Izzy for short

I don't think I could handle having a dog with a face like that. It's like evolution designed him to always look upset and lacking in a proper amount of attention 24/7 to take advantage of my weak willpower.
