I've come a begging! (Galaxies dreams and Jedi wishes)

I was just wondering if any of you here have a Galaxies beta key just kicking around. In the little free time I have available these days I would love to check it out before retail.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, all out... but if you do get one, good luck... I been downloading their latest patch for the past few days. It seems like it''s around 2.2GB. Which i came to conclusion that they have released a new beta... not a patch. ehh... another 50 hours to go.

Yep, 6 hours to go on my pretty weak wireless connection = suckage.

Actually I think the patch is only like 200 megs. The main time is spent getting your files put into a new order on your hard-drive. Or so I''ve been told anyways.

Sounds feasible and guess what? It keeps stalling during the process. Pretty lame way to ""patch"" or whatever you call it.

UPDATE, well I officially can''t play Galaxies anymore and I am pissed. This new patch thing verifying and rearranging files is fine, I actually can wait through it but the update times out and I can''t relaunch the game/patcher withouth rebooting. This is just lame.

Arh... after 3 days, i''m down to 1 hour left to download. I wish they would just send me the CD!

Just to note. If you get a message download canceld, don''t restart the Station, on top it would say download. If you click on that it would resume on where it stoped.

Flux... I feel your pain. I guess i have the same issue. No more Galaxies. My computer...!? um, not doing anything, everytime i try to run the SWG Station. Got to be some kind of file (...data_sample_o2.tre), that causes some kind of buffer overflow or something along the lines. eh... 3 days waited for nothing, but i''m an optimist... so i say my Xbox is back! and Halo rules, or better yet i just got a Gasaraki boxset! so i''ll have something to do over the weekend.

It''s a sign, give your account to Gaald!

Anyone? Anyone? Beuler?

Flux... defrag your drive! Seems to help.

Gaald... I''ll talk to my friend, see if he really wants to quuit this game.

Honestly Gaald, I hi jacked a friends account but it wasn''t worth the trouble, it''s another big static treadmill with a glacial play rate and lots of down time mandatory grouping and endless running. Very EQ. It is pretty thought, but in non-interactive way. Just my IMO, so any rabid fan boys can go pound sand ;).

Well for me it is just something I have to experiance myself. It also doesn''t help that Certis managed to get in and he likes to point that out to me on ICQ as often as he can. 8)

I agree... in some sense, anyway. If you look at it... it''s just pointless running around, nothing more. However its still has it''s fun... and fun is all i care about at the moment....

...other wise i wouldn''t play it or play games in general.

It''s just something to forget about work for the next few days.

Yeah I know what you mean Nei, but you blow up one bunny with a blaster you have blown them all up, there is not real forward or progressive feel ti spending hours on the game and that is not so fun to me. Your just not really building toward anything and there is no sense of conflict IMO...

Good luck though Gaald, if I had one I could give you I would because it''s true, you have to check MMP''s out for yourself each one has properties that will grab a certain group.

Well, I have not posted about this all weekend since my problem but I finally got in. I played about 8 total hours Saturday and Sunday to give the game a real chance but it is starting to be obvious that SWG missed the boat for me.

I wanted to watch Gasaraki on Saturday, but instead I end up playing Galaxies on Saturday and way into Sunday. In that time I managed to get Master Marksmen, buy a house, meet a newbie... who wanted everything in the least amount of time as possible, and spend 60k in no time. However, I took a long nap after the SWG put on the Gasaraki series... and while I was watching it I realized something. Is that I saw everything that Galaxies has to offer, and most likely, the game will be over as soon as the beta will. I guess the fun kind of running out"…

"…but on the good side, at least Gasaraki was good, though left me a bit puzzled, I defiantly liked it.

I just noticed that I''d been invited, god knows how long it may have been. (Hadn''t checked my beta status for a little while)

Anyway, I fill out the forms as necessary and proceed to the checkout. According to this FAQ the disc is not supposed to cost me more than 6 measly dollars; a reasonable sum. However, after going into the checkout I am very startled by the sum total: $40.38. This is probably due to SOE forcing me to use UPS Express for shipping the CD. Why couldn''t I just have it mail ordered for $6, get the CD-key, download the client and get to playing? Why the heck do I need to pay $40 for what is essentially only a CD-key and a 3 week wait for the beta CD?

Gosh, this is stupid. Way to go with screwing your international fans.... no chance in hell I''m paying this much for a beta CD when I could spend it on a new and released game.

Eh are you outside the States or somthing... I S&H charges where normal for everyone else I talked to.

I think the words ''international fans'' and my location (Iceland) should clue you in.

Well Fool, if someone living in the States would be willing they could order the CD''s for you and send you the CD KEY they get right away after ordering. I would but since I''m in Canada I think it may cost more than usual.
