"24" Season 7 & 24 Redemption

In the meantime, I need you to open up a fresh socket.

/Actual quote. I didn't even have to make it up.

The plot is getting more lame and predictable by the second. As much as loved the series overall, I'll be happy when it's finally over.

So, assuming I'm not the only person still watching the show...

What the hell. Did not see that coming.

I really am not sure why I am still watching this show. It's beyond ridiculous! It's been that way since season 2, but now it's just {ableist slur}.

I didn't know exactly what was going to happen but you had to have guessed things weren't wrapping up yet, because it hasn't been a full 24 hours. This show is riddled with flaws but the biggest one of them all is the concept that the events take place over 24 hours, meaning until that 24th hour any resolutions you see are false until that final episode.

Is this the last season? Please tell me it is. I am going to finish watching the rest of this season against my better judgement, because it is pretty close to being over and I would like to think after having watched it I can at least say I saw it all.

Note that there was not a silent clock after you know what happened in the last episode.

Because it's stupid and makes no sense.

So maybe we should have seen it coming then as that's all this show has been for years.

Which is precisely why I continue to watch it. It's like the Family Guy, where at any moment some completely random sh*t can happen and spin up a wild new tangent.

Plus, in how many other shows can you find a screwdriver on the ground, throw it through someone's bulletproof vest, and then rip it out of their heart and use it to start a car, all within 5 minutes? The answer, my friends, is zero.

There was a time when I might have made an argument somewhere along the lines of "Jack Bauer doesn't need to make sense, he just needs lots of bullets" but really I don't think I can defend the show at this point. Not even sarcastically.

I do believe this will be the last season I watch it if it continues.

This is why *I* keep watching.

I grumble and I gripe and I keep watching. I know Tony will rationalize it and he and Jack will have some kind of showdown eventually.

Someday, I'm just going to lock myself in my room with a bottle of tequila, a ton of Quaaludes and a random season of this show, and see if it makes sense then.

This season has, at least, been way more consistent than last season. I don't feel this show like I once did, but at least it's still fun.

Yep, this is why I keep coming back too at this point.

If they'd just stuck with the whole Tony is a bad guy now deal from the start, it could have been great. This whole triple crossing thing really took the punch out of what could have been a great villain for the season.

Seeing Kim again made me miss her random, totally unrelated misadventures. Her scenes were like an entirely different show. Jack Bauer would be punching the terrorists, and then it would just cut to a scene with a teenage girl running through the woods getting kidnapped by hillbillies. Political intrigue in the Oval Office will never live up to that. They should have replaced all the scenes with the President and her daughter with the story of Kim trying to get in touch with her dad. I bet she got into no fewer than three car accidents on the way to the FBI HQ, and was kidnapped at least twice.

And she would have been down to a white, sometimes wet, under shirt by the 2nd car accident, and possibly a pair of short shorts, by the 2nd kidnapping.

Truth be told I was surprised when we first saw her that she wasn't already stripped down to a white undershirt so that she could give blood for that experimental vaccine. I am still holding out hope!

Actually, I'd be ok if next season just turns out to be Bill, Jack, Tony, and Chloe as an A-Team type of outfit. But, with a black and red van.

Well that possibility seems...unlikely, at this point, but it is 24, so i think its still on the table.
