Demigod Catch-All

That's good to hear that it is turning out so well. Thank you for the updates.

Hey Jakeleg, I have the beta now and want to try some multiplayer (since single player is disabled). Let me know if you are up for a game.

Sure. I usually play through Steam so you people can see when/what I am playing. Just friend me up there.

BTW, you can play skirmish against the AI by starting a custom game, passwording it, and set the AI to fill slots.

Hadn't downloaded the latest version of this in months; grabbed the latest today and I agree that it's come a long, long ways. It has definitely moved from being an engine test to an entertaining game. I wasn't able to find any real multiplayer, so I just played a few bot rounds. Had a lot of trouble distinguishing all of the individual minion units and I badly wanted some kind of "permanent life bars visible" so I could track hero health without mousing over them. Oh, and I really really really wanted an attack-move command (how the hell is this not there? Did I miss it in the key config?)

Still, I had a good time. Quibbles aside, this one is looking promising.

*edit* Ah, alt+right click performs an attack-move. Knew they couldn't have been so stupid as to have left that out

I'm surprised with the complete lack of information on this game out there considering its impending release. I would have expected a review or two to start popping up by now.

I'm pretty excited about this game too. Haven't been in the beta, but everything so far I've heard has looked good. The whole setup with Stardock acting as publisher and part-time developer along with Gas Powered Games (just like with Ironclad on Sins of a Solar Empire) seems to be a great arrangement. My only fear at this point is the possibility of major balance issues, but hopefully it won't be too much of a problem.

If you're looking for more info, I'd suggest Episode 6 of the Three Moves Ahead podcast. They (Troy Goodfellow, Tom Chick, and Bruce Geryk) spent the entire time talking about their impressions from the beta and how they think the full release will go.

I'm greatly looking forward to this one. Got to play a tad at PAX but I never got into the beta.

I played the beta in a single player mode (multiplayer with bots) and it is a lot of fun. When it comes out I definately want to get in on some multiplayer, maybe setup a weekly game much like we do with Sins of a Solar Empire.

It just wouldn't be the same with games under 3 hours

I pre-ordered the game, and played the beta briefly in January, then it got pushed to the bottom of the pile of new releases. I'd be interested in trying out the multiplayer when it releases with some GWJers.

I for one am completely stoked for Demigod after playing throughout the beta. It is a hell of a lot of fun. It sounds like the Day 0 patch fixes the balance issues between the Generals and Assassins. Personally, I think I will still stick with Assassin (Regulus) as that is what I played during the beta. I think a GWJ clan would be in order if we can get enough interest.

True each game would probably only last 45-60 minutes, but we could get two or three games in. The point I was making though was to create a scheduled time like we do with sins each week.

pity this isn't coming to steam, otherwise i'd be VERY interested...

How many players does the multiplayer support? Are there teams and free-for-all? Yes, I could look this up for myself, especially seeing as how I own the game, but I'm being lazy.

FWIW I find impulse much easier to use than Steam. Plus since this game is by the people behind impulse, you probably have about as much chance of finding it on steam as finding half-life on impulse.

Well, I just got a reasonably sizable tax refund and that will make me probably pick up today or tomorrow.

Jake, how is the community stuff? Is it clunky and better for us to just use Steam or is the in-game (or within Impulse) capable enough?

For the record, I pre-ordered this a bit back. Just not in time to be in Beta. So I'll be d/l it tonight. Any hand-holding anybody wants to do would be greatly appreciated.

2 teams, up to 10 players.

Is the game available right now, or tomorrow? I seem to remember the email that I got said it would be available the 14th.

I'm downloading the 1.00 version right now, but I have no idea if it's available to play. I'll update back when it's finished.

I read the blog post on Impulse that said it was available because Game Stop broke street date.

I'll be installing it when I get home tonight.

Anyone know their Impulse name?

Mine is TheCounselor, apparently. Add me to your friends' list.

I'll be joining you next month for Demigoddery... unfortunately I've spent my gaming budget for this month already.

Looking forward to it!

Downloading now. Hoping the patch isn't too big.

Would definitely be down for a brawl tonight if anyone's interested. Impulse screen name same as usual.

I have no idea what this game is but I have been hearing a bit of buzz around it for awhile. Can anyone give me a quick run down?

It looks like an RTS to me.

I'll be downloading this as soon as I get home. Hopefully I can get it down before the end of the night.

Downloading now

I am going to fire up the download tonight as well!

I wont be able to play tonight as I have DnD tonight but tomorrow I am open to get it on!

Having a bit of trouble with Impulse, I try to bring up the options menu but its keeps telling me that it is trying to connect to impulse.

Oh well, I bet they are getting hammered right now.

Looks like the download is 1.88 gigs. It's going at a steady clip for me, though, as I've installed about 12% in five minutes or so.
