'V' tv series (new)

I may have missed this seeing how it's hard to search. But hopefully not.

This new, update of this series has landed allot of interesting folks who everyone should be familiar.

See :

eg. Scott Wolf; Morena Baccarin(!); Joel Gretsch etc.

I guess I'm in the minority in enjoying the older version when it was on. At least in the beginning.

I guess it's not spoilerish to say this in the clear now, this is the reason there are rumors that Juliette dies on Lost this year.

Hmmm. You may be right. I'll edited out in case someone is not sure...Thanks.

Alan Tudyk also involved, I see.

I never saw the original but the wife loved it, with a cast like that though (Morena Baccari, wowza) I will be tuning in

So is this a remake of a remake?

I just picked up the original series in it's entirety from amazon for $35. Their sci-fi sale gets me ever time.

I don't know what to think about this. There are two reason to remake something:
1) To make it better. (No example. Studios usually remake successful movies.)
2) To get it closer to the source material. (Like the remake of Logan's Run that coming out)

I don't know it this fits either.

Wait, there was another V before the V I know of from the 80s? That series was fine. I showed it to my wife like 5 years ago and camp and all she still loved it.

You missed the third reason. To cynically milk the last few drops of sweet sweet money out of a largerly forgotten cashcow.

Wash and Inara? How can I refuse?

What does that mean? The original V consisted of 2 sets of miniseries and a regular series that lasted 1 season. No remake involved there, AFAIK.

3:10 to Yuma
Batman Begins
Ocean's Eleven (arguably)
The Thing

...and...

The Wicker Man!

I love the Ocean's series. Even if the "remake" was just to put in place contemporary actors who *we're* familiar with that's fine by me. I always thought of the Ocean's movies as part of the fun being the idea of all these stars palling around and making a movie in their free time.

V devolved into pure cheese and hairspray, but the original mini was golden. A reboot is terrific news, as long as ABC doesn't cancel it after six episodes.

At least it's not on Fox.

Yeah, the cast looks very good.

I never watched all of the original -- does it stand up well, 20 years later?

What if they have a lizard baby? Not all fun and games then, no sir.

I'm just waiting for Summer Glau to go on Chuck. I've been a Rayne shipper since they pulled her out of a box.

If I got sick of V when I was a kid why should I care about it now? Knight Rider and now V ... what's next Manimal?

I'm willing to risk it.

*swoon*

V for victory or V for vistors

No, Night Court.

No, Night Court.

Not Court taken to the EXTREME!!!

Take Night Court, make it serious and turn it into a show like Law and Order or ER.
? ? ?
Profit

They're not done peeing on our memories yet.

Oh, I know what's next. The tv show about helicopters and a remake of that show with the monster truck.

See, reaching the point where I don't even know the name of the shows.

"Fall Guy", that was it!

I guess I should have said two valid reasons. Batman Begins wasn't a remake and the others were fine as they were. Sometimes you get decent movies (Ocean's Eleven) sometimes you wonder why ($$$) they would do such a thing- As in The Wicker Man with Nick Cage or The Day the Earth Stood Still with Keanu Reeves.

At least it's not on Fox.

Then it would be guaranteed to be cancelled after six episodes.

Morena Baccarin makes me feel all weird. Like a bunch of bees are in my chest.

If they can someone deliver the same message, I'll be intrigued. Otherwise, I'll just hope to be entertained.

Glad to see some good 4400 actors back on the screen.

I loved the first series... looking forward to this one. CG has come a long way since. Just hope that the acting will be a let down then, if and when they rely too much on CG. But seeing the cast, I have good hopes.

Well, there's no Marc Singer, Michael Ironside or Robert Englund... But as long as there's allot of rodent eating it'll be fine.

I'm such a consumer whore. All this talk about V and my childhood memories made me check the availability of the originals on DVD and I found the mini-series, series, and movie all on Amazon. Order placed. I know it cannot possibly stand up to my memories, but I couldn't help myself.

You need to be willing to laugh at it, but they're still entertaining.

Yeah. I found myself deep down excited for their victories at the end, so it's not that bad.
