The Matrix Reloaded has my seven dollars.

Hey Guys! I just got back from Matrix 2. Holy Crap... it was just about everything I thought it was going to be.

However, it was super slow in the beginning (okay... people in the future can still rave. Big deal.) But it more than makes up for it later on.
Definitely see the movie and brush up on your determinist arguments from Philosophy 101.

I was going to post some spoiler thoughts but I'll leave you with this:
Think real hard about the next time you have cake!

Enjoy!

I just got back myself. I really enjoyed watching the movie. It is slow to start off but dam when it gets going it is almost non stop!

I am going again tommorow afternoon!

7$ wow, I did not know they had those prices any more for a movie ticket.... We pay 11$!

I agree, even though the rave party was nice and made me feel like I was in the SoundFactory or any other night club... the only thing that I have an issue with is that it should have been shorter... because I feel it was a bit out of context. Still after that the movie was great, a lot of action and same time the classic matrix philosophy gig. It''s a defiantly a must see movie. Besides it also had a very cool T3 preview.

We pay 3 dollars here in Mexico. Good seats too. If you pay 8, you get to a ""VIP"" section, where you have a bigass sofa - like seat, a menu, and there''s waiters around if you want to order something to eat while you watch the movie. There''s a lot less people too, since no one likes to pay that much. Oh, and a huge screen.

It''s goddamn great.

Yet another reason to hate the Mexicans. j/k Mex you know I <3 U!

Okay, it looks like Im in the minority on this movie, but theres alot about this movie I dont like at all. I agree about the rave scene, it was out of place. But even worse was the dialoge about determinism, they talked for goddamn ever without saying anything. The only good dialogue in the film was the supporting characters bringing comic relief. Not that I expected it to be Shakespeare or anything, but it was so grating that it distracted from the ass kicking. The ass kicking was good however, and that 100 agent fight scene had people in the audience almost cheering, it was pretty damn good. Most of the other action sequences were pretty damn fine, but it just seemed random. The plot seemed to jump around every 10 minutes, and then the action sequences just seemed to come out of f*cking nowhere.

I just wish the plot had been trimmed down, less dialoge, and they had structured it a little better. Then it wouldnt have pissed me off so bad and I couldve enjoyed the fight scenes even more. As it was, its sort of a love hate thing with me and this movie.

Yet another reason to hate the Mexicans.

Hey, some of my best friends are filthy Mexicans so lay off!

I do agree with you on the Matrix though, I liked the action fine but a lot of it had no real purpose. In the first movie everything had a reason, every fight had something driving the characters. Here, it felt very thrown together and random. Still good but not as compelling.

Well see, that figures, cause I hate Canada too. And most of the US, especially that part over there that I dont visit very often. I probably hate other parts of the world but I just don''t have the time to sit down at a globe and look at them all.

Maybe seeing the Matrix a second time will help out, Im going to go with my parents to see it Sunday, so maybe I can forewarn my brain into shutting off before the talking begins.

(hey! Where''d it go?)

Quick question, whats the roll for? My random idiotic diatribe against everything and everyone on the planet, or my comments about the Matrix?

Mostly the idiotic diatribe. Mostly.

No, I''ve not seen the movie, so I can''t comment on it.

I''m on vacation, so I''ll keep this short.

Almost as bad as the recent Star Wars movies. Agree with Pyro''s comments about the dialagoue. Almost walked out half-way through it was getting so ridiculous. The effects were awesome but quickly redundant.

Sad, sad day.

Well I was gonna breath a sigh of relief because Mex hasn''t tried to kill me yet.

But he just hasnt seen Reloaded yet. So i''m not off the hook.

I paid good money for that bulletproof vest. Looks like I''ll still be able to put it to use.

Okay, went to see it again last night, my roommate offered to pay so I cant resist that!

Id have to say the second time around I enjoyed it much more. Mainly because I knew when to stop listening. And all the blathering about Purpose and Fate made alot more sense once you know about the ending. I also just want to confirm what Certis said, the two words I can use to describe this movie are ""self indulgent"".

Philosophizing went on too long because the directors/writers like the sound of thier own voice. Rave scene went on too long because the directors like titties. Dialogue that was confusing didn''t make sense because the directors/writers knew what was going on and didn''t bother to tell you until it was too late. Im not talking about the Architect either, any major plot point wasn''t really explained until you went through the entire scene showing what was going on. Either they didn''t care enough to make sure you knew what was going on during the scene, or they overestimated thier audience. Personally I think its a mix of both.

I am alot less mad at this movie, but its still not as good as the first one, and the dialogue was still dumb, I just learned to tune it out. The 100 Agent Smith fight scene though was the best, I could watch that in a loop all day. Agent Smith is really my favorite character in the whole show right now, its gonna be fun to see him in the sequel.

Well, you don''t have to be a director to like ''em. I agree with Pyroman on most the comments about the movie, and I have a couple of more issues with the movie... however it's still a good show... and I would not necessary degraded to Star Wars Episode 1/2 level.

Spoiler much?

Psst... if there''s a thread about a movie you haven''t seen you should probably just avoid it.

Okay, fixed, cause that really ruins the movie for anybody if they haven''t seen it. Though I still agree with Certis.

I partly agree with you. Someone might come along and just look for basic comments like ""the action kicked ass"", ""dialogue was lame"", ""Trinity is hot !!"" ...like I was.
Not give away a major plot aspect.

I am not that picky and I will be seeing it tomorrow but someone people get really pissed is all. Me, not being one of them

So you might want to fix your post, with my quote in it .....

I thought I did, done.

The Onion is pretty hit and miss, but I cracked up at this quote.
Facts about the new Matrix movie:

Trinity makes three-point landing on top of speeding sportscar then jumps off in slow-motion, landing in bedroom of 300-pound comic book collector

Thats sums up my displeasure with the movie pretty well, if theyd thought of that I bet they would have put it in

I thought the movie was decently good. But frankly X2 kicked its ass.

I just got back from the film, and this thread sums it up pretty good. Definite good parts, definite bad parts, and a lack of cohesiveness.

I feel they could have dropped some of the action scenes (ghosts?) and filled out the plot a little better..

Someone needs to write a heating program for the matrix, because there was a hell of a lot of hard nipples in that movie..

Now I''m going to find some site that explains what the Architect said. I just watched the TV''s through that whole scene..

I just watched it for the third time (everyone keeps paying for my ticket, I cant say no! I lack self control!) and my opinion didnt change.

However I just want to know, did anybody else think that orgasm cake part was completely {ableist slur}? It didn''t fit his point, in fact its like he switched to the counter-argument to his point for the whole bit, and then they use the subtle approach of ramming the camera in her crotch to show that shes had an orgasm? Oh my! They sure are daring and living on the edge.

I thought it was a bit strange myself and a weird way to make a point. I think however, after watching the later scenes with his wife (girlfriend?) it makes sense. He being the letch he is did it just to get some in the bathroom as was so kindly pointed out later when he got back to the mansion.

Of course that could be just me putting 2 and 2 together and making 5 but I am pretty sure that''s what the intent was. Sort of a weird way to get a point across but funny when it finally comes together.

I saw it today and since I''m a lazy f*ck I''m just going to copy-paste what I wrote on ttlg:

The sex/rave was overlong and gratious. I started shifting in my seat towards the end of it, and it wasn''t to hide an erection. The fight with Smith was way, way too long. In fact, every fight involving neo was way too long. Superman is the most boring character ever invented; he''s invulnerable, so why the f*ck should we care about him when he''s in a fight? The dialouge is pretentious, wanky and ends up bearing little releveance to the movie. In fact, everything has little relevance because there''s no closure. Something without an end has no meaning.

It does have two great bits: the frenchman and the car chase. That''s about it. It''s just sound and fury. It''s worth the cost of the ticket to see all the nifty kicking and ''sploding on a big screen, but don''t expect anything more than that. I wouldn''t be that pissed if it wasn''t so inferior to the original, which was a tight and rather clever action thriller. This is anything but.

bah call me a geek, I enjoyed every single bit of it. You guys are just jaded ;). I especially liked the dialogues about control and choice. I wonder how much of this turns up in part three.
The rave scene and the scene before had something of a sect meeting. Overall I like how both movies toy with belief and religion.

I enjoyed it as well, for pretty much the same reasons as chrisg.

It reminded me a lot of the first move in its style and dialogue etc and I can''t wait for the 3rd one.

Let the beatings commence

ok guys, so whats your theory about the matrix? Zion just another matrix layer? Is neo the next step in evolution?

Mine: there are no real people in that world, neither inside nor outside the matrix. Instead they are all programs. Thus Agent smith can download to another body (memcpy ;)) and Neo can stop the sentinels. Also the oracle''s talk about programs have a lot more meaning then. Or didn''t you wonder how the Merovingian was able to take two people (programs? the movie is not that clear at that moment) from an earlier incarnation of the matrix with him?

Really curious about your thoughts on the whole movie :).

Look at my earlier thread regarding this...

After seeing the movie, my views still stand with some minor adjustments
