Yowch. Is this true?

Dayum!

http://michaelw.net/Articles/GeorgeB...

How much of that is true?

Some, not all but he is already better than tricky dicky Clinton so I don''t mind.

Frankly I think Republicans are happy that liberals hate Emperor Dubya so much. It makes them feel good after having Clinton around for eight years to be sticking in to the Democrats. The fact that he''s a pretty detestable human being doesn''t factor into the equation.

What a load of crap.

There is a statiscal math study which proves the more ice cream is sold on a beach, the more drowning occurs. So naturally, let''s blame the ice cream company for making a product that induces drowning.

Forget the fact, that more ice cream is sold, b/c their are more people on the beach, which will lead to the cases of more drowning victims.

Blaming Bush for the failing economy which was falling under the careful eye of Clinton is the same thing. The fact that this downturn results in many of the points made, can''t be directly attributed to the current adminstration.

Let''s talk after the tax cuts have taken effect to see what happens to the economy. At that point, Bush can take the fall if its there.

You forgot to say ""In my opinion."" Unless your hubris has taken on god-like proportions and you expect us to take your word as gospel?

Hey, I pointed these out years ago as reasons to not vote for him and people act suprised when it comes out again:

Ran for congress and lost.

Well, wouldn''t be the first time a politician lost and then won.

Produced a Hollywood slasher B movie.

Contributing to the moral decline of American entertainment, eh? I wonder what movie this would be.

Bought an oil company, but couldn''t find any oil in Texas, company went bankrupt shortly after I [George W.] sold all my stock.

Can''t find oil in Texas, can''t find WMDs in Iraq, can''t find friends among the commonfolk of Europe...

Bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using tax-payer money. Biggest move: Traded Sammy Sosa to the Chicago White Sox.

Well, he may lose Colin Powell to free agency if the rivalry between him and Donald Rumsfeld escalates. And you thought the Barry Bonds-Jeff Kent rivalry got ugly.

With fathers help (and his name) was elected Governor of Texas.

""Hello, Dad. It''s your sons, George Bush Jr. and Jeb Bush!""

""Bar! The boys are here, they''ll help me figure out how to deal with those Simpsons. Probably looking for a letter of recommendation.""

Accomplishments: Changed pollution laws for power and oil companies and made Texas the most polluted state in the Union. Replaced Los Angeles with Houston as the most smog ridden city in America.

And now as president, he managed to help get California back into the top spot after changing Federal regulations.

Cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas government to the tune of billions in borrowed money.

Now aren''t you glad the Bush Cuts for the Rich Plan passed in the Senate last night?

Set record for most executions by any Governor in American history.

No, that''s too easy.

Became president after losing the popular vote by over 500,000 votes, with the help of my [George W.] fathers appointments to the Supreme Court.

Again, too easy, and it has been done to death already. Overriding the will of the people, democracy dead, yadda yadda yadda. You''ve heard it already.

At least one conviction for drunk driving in Maine (Texas driving record has been erased and is not available).

Well, good thing he''s getting driven around in a limo now.

AWOL from National Guard and Deserted the military during a time of war.

But, but, but, he wore the Flight SuitTM! Doesn''t that make him a military guy?

Refused to take drug test or even answer any questions about drug use.

At least Clinton admitted he didn''t inhale.

All records of my tenure as governor of Texas have been spirited away to my [George W.] fathers library, sealed in secrecy and un-available for public view.

Right next to the records of the meetings between Cheney and the energy companies in 2000, along with his meetings with the Taliban, right?

All records of any SEC investigations into my [George W.] insider trading or bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and un-available for public view.

So much for being a champion of corporate responsibility. Practice what you preach, Shrub.

All minutes of meetings for any public corporation I [George W.] served on the board are sealed in secrecy and un-available for public view.

Well, I''ll give you that one. Unless they relate to the aformentioned SEC investigations.

Any records or minutes from meetings I (or my VP) attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and un-available for public review.

National Security, my ass.

For personal references please speak to my daddy or uncle James Baker (They can be reached at their offices of the Carlyle Group for war-profiteering.)

""...Probably looking for a letter of recommendation.""

No, could be people are just tired of your chicken little and the ''sky is falling'', bit.

Anything like the people who said for years that al-Qaeda was planning to attack the US but everybody ignored them?

Yeah, don''t be such a nagging bastard and stop pointing out the facts!

Someone got me some extra hubris for my birthday, so I''ve got an excess today.

Dammit Yomm, it''s just not the same not having Ulairi around to take that kind of bait and run with it. I kinda miss the unrelated Castro references! I can''t wait til E3 is over and we have our ""I''m not a Republican"" Republican pit-bull back.

"Elysium" wrote:

Yeah, I miss him as well. I''m trying to fill in, but somehow I lack the ''omph'' to get in it.

Still, my path is one of witty sarcasm, which fails to convey the blunt of Ulairi''s cranky wisdom.

A very happy birthday to you, so I''ll not mention my hurt feelings for calling me out on failing to represent my posse.

"Rat Boy" wrote:

Yeah something like that, except when we did go to action, you Female Doggoed about that, too.

Hold on a second. I supported Operation Enduring Freedom, I didn''t support Operation Iraqi Revenge. There''s a difference.

Blaming Bush for the failing economy which was falling under the careful eye of Clinton is the same thing. The fact that this downturn results in many of the points made, can''t be directly attributed to the current adminstration.

Right. I glossed over that stuff because most of it was starting to happen when Clinton was president. I dont blame either President for the stock market and economy.

The 50 states filing for bankrupcy is eye openning and appalling just in general and not as a slam against President Bush.

There is however, a lot of stuff there that doesnt have to do with my daddy getting me elected and Enron.

I am pissed about the energy crisis in CA but Govenor Davis has a good portion of responsibility for that too. Bush should have done... something.

It is unfortunate that world opinnion has swung from high to low. There are some things I would have done differently. Saddam is gone and that will help world politics a lot. He was a very bad apple.

Yeah, now that Saddam is gone, there won''t be any more alliance-destroying arguments revolving around trying to remove Saddam from power.

Is Saddamit really gone? hmm

What''s better for the election of 2004? A Saddam and bin Ladin dead and forgotten, or a Saddam and bin Ladin still on the lamb, still making threats to the US? Scared voters might forget the economy and vote to keep the incumbent party in power.

"Rat Boy" wrote:

Good lord. I''m going to start stocking up anti-ulcer medication long before we begin to debate election 2004.

I''d go with Valium, but its not over the counter. Yet.

""I''ve got yer medication riight here!""

I live in Holland.

Bin Laden and Saddam are better gone or dead for the election. That way the President can keep reminding us how we rid the world of evil.

I know what you are trying to insinuate but I think it will backfire.

If Bin Laden and Saddam are still around people will want to know why something hasnt been done about it and look at it as a failure of the Administration. We all remember the pressure for the ""smoking gun"" yes?

Yeah, now that Saddam is gone, there won''t be any more alliance-destroying arguments revolving around trying to remove Saddam from power.

Good point! Thanks for bolstering my argument.

I can''t wait for campaign 2004, or Operation Democrat Self-Destruct. The only way Bush''s complete incompetence on all social and policy issues could be glossed over and he win reelection is if the Democrats are even more incompetent in forming a distinct and coherent voice and refuse to grow a backbone. Looks like Dubya will win by a landslide (A landslide for him would be any win where he actually gets the popular vote).

I''m so fed up with the Democrats, and their p*ssy-footing around conservative blather. We''re the democrats and we stand firmly, for, um something. What was it? Not sure, I think it was different than the Republicans, you know, if that''s all right with you. How about this, you people tell us what you want to hear, we''ll say that and you vote for us, ok?

Right now it looks like a Bush victory by default ... the only way I can imagine he''d win.

The only thing that could defeat Dubya is a major catastrophe happening in the economy, the War on Terror, or North Korea to make him look completely ineffectual as President. Major problems like these are the only thing that can help to defeat an incumbent. It happened with his father, it happened to Jimmy Carter, and it would''ve happend to LBJ had he not stepped aside.

Gore should have won by default. Look at how he f''d up.

I wonder if the Democrats could fight fire with fire.

Do they have any simple minded, ""faith based"" candidates?

OMG! Of course! My own state! Gray Davis!

He doesnt seem to be faith centric as far as I know, but its never to late to find religion!

He cant speak very well, he is f''in up his state as Govenor, he doesnt seem too bright. He has a bunch of minorities in his cabinet. (that do all the real work I''m sure)

Somebody baptise that boy! He''s the perfect G-dub counter!

I love it! Woo! Can''t wait for 2004!

Gray also beat a man who believed that God told him to run for governor and also went on that Jim and Tammy-Faye Baker scam show to brag about it, so he''s had experience at handling religious nut jobs.

"Elysium" wrote:

Can I misquote you in order to use it for a sig?

Yeah. I don''t even think of myself as a ""democrat"" anymore, so feel free.
