I really like RTS games especially Starcraft (duh) and the C&C series but I do like to play demos on most new games first, before I buy. My problem is this:
Fileplanet ran the subscriber exclusive demo for Generals for like a week and of course I missed it. Is there any way in hell to get the demo? I want to see how it runs and at least give it a shot.
I''m afraid the demo they ran wouldn''t give much an idea of how the game performs on your system. It was a beta of the game so it wasn''t optimized.
I don''t think they released a demo after that, I can''t find one anyways.

That is another thing I was afraid of. I mean why can''t they release a new ""optimized"" demo? If it ran well and was fun I would give them my $40

What are your system specs? I might be able to give you a general idea of how it will run..

I think you''d be fine so long as you don''t mind dropping the quality to about medium. The only knock against your system is the video card really.

Yeah, I knew that would be the limiting factor. I still wish someone would host the fileplanet demo so I could try it.

The Fileplanet demo was multiplayer only and it required the in-game browser list to play. I doubt they''re still hosting it I''m afraid.

You should be fine, my rig is about the same except I have the 9000 pro. Runs great. It ran pretty well with my old 7200 VIVO as well.
As for the quality of the game, it''s my current favorite. Well worth the money, and you can always sell it on eBay for a decent rate. I was up until 12:30 last night playing. So addicted! Although, my record wouldn''t show it
Ok, thanks Certis.
Bagga,
hearing you say that makes me want to go to Best Buy right now What settings do you run at?
PSN ID: Haul_N_Oats
Im running it on full setting with my: 1.2Ghz AMD, GF-4600Ti, 1.5GB RAM... but to point out that my laptop runs fine with medium setting with specs of 1.8Ghz 256RAM and ATI 16MB!
I can''t get enough of this game. It is all I play right now. There are a lot of good user made maps out there to grab. I hope you buy it and can experience the fun of C&C Generals. This is the first C&C game I ever owned.
I run it at the default settings, whatever those are. Looks/plays great. It hiccup''ed a lot when I had 256 mb, but I put in 256 more and it now runs almost 100% smoothly.
Same, and Same 8)

I''ve got a p4 2Ghz with a Radeon 9000 (not pro) and I can run Generals at 1024x768 with everything turned all the way up. Runs smooth as butter.
My days of not taking you seriously have certainly come to a middle.

It was a win because I had to battle 7 bids in the last 30 seconds and I came out on top
Not to mention I picked it up for $20.
