Patton Oswald

I consider myself a stand-up comic fan. I really enjoy going to comedy clubs or watching comedy central's stand up programs.

IMO, Patton Oswald is one of the funniest guys I've ever seen. It was one of those rare shows where you started laughing from the start and never stopped. I mention this b/c he's coming back to the Improv in D.C. We're about 2 hours away, but we're still going to make it to a weekday show to see him.

If anyone is in the D.C/ N.Virginia area, I highly recomend you try catching him. To anyone else, if ever an opportunity presents itself to go see him, do it.

Ooh, I''m listening... when is this show? I might make the trek from Leesburg on a weeknight to see a really good comedian.

May 28th-31st

Shows @ 8:30 with a 10:30 show on Fri and Sat.

I''ll be there on the 29th. If you find youself going on that night, let me know and I''ll try to get us at the same table.

Its worth it. If, after seeing the show, you can honestly tell me it wasn''t funny, I''ll pay you $15 for one of the tickets.

Ah...Spence...from King of Queens. I knew that name sounded familiar.

Yeah, but I''ve never seen the show. I know he was (is?) one of the writers for Mad TV, but I''m not a big fan of the show.

I just know he''s &#$*() funny as hell.

Heh, Patton Oswald is okay, but he''s nowhere near as funny as Richard Jeni, Brian Regan, or Dane Cook, for example.

Yeah, Dane Cook is pretty damn funny. But his comedy is much more phyiscal (not that there''s anything wrong with that). Isn''t Regan the one who came up with the whole Fed Ex bit:

him: ""Uhh, hi, yeah I need you to pick up a package.""
Fed Ex: Certainly, whats the weight?
him: 10 pounds
Fed Ex: Girth?
him: *pause* ummmm, 7?
Fed Ex: 7 what?
him: 7 girth units..just pick up the damn box!

Still, Oswald is funnier then they, imo. I could write out some of his bits, but it loses something in the translation. He looks like a little lesbian (as he has called himself) and loves comic books.
Of course, its all subjective, but I wager you''d walk away from one of his shows with a hurt side from laughing.

Stand up comics, the last bastion of true free speech!
