North Korea now says it has nuclear weapons...

From CNN

Now they're also threatening to test them. Some peace conference...

Okey Dokey, Mr. President. You now have a clear and present danger to the lives of the citizens of the United States of America. What are you going to do about it?

MAD. We tell China (the only people with real pull over NK) that if NK doesn''t shape up than Japan and South Korea will all have nuclear weapons.

A war with North Korea would cost millions of lives.

Howd I know you were gonna say MAD?

However, I think in this case, that plan is a pretty good one. For once a plan of Ulairi''s that doesn''t involve shooting someone.

Yet.

You forget that MAD (and the ""Ulairi''s Guide to Foreign Relations"") say that any time the threat of force is made it must be followed through on. And I for one don''t count on the Bush Administration and Kim Jong Il showing as much restraint as the Kennedy Administration and Nikita Kruschev.

Kennedy Administration and Nikita Kruschev

Dont even go there! We were almost never even born.

No. It must be a credible threat of force. Which has been proven in Iraq. I have no problem making it clear that if Lil Kim laucnhes a nuclear weapon than we will use our full force and take him out. That''s how we delt with Russia.

If we had your way we would just buy him off because we''re at fault here. Without the United States, North Korea would be fine.

I know your song and dance already.

Isn''t that what the US is planning to do? I''ve seen no drive to get a UN resolution to do something against the DPRK. I''ve seen no additional military resource deployments to the region outside of a few more aircraft. The Administration doesn''t want a war with North Korea and may be willing to ""buy"" peace.

What will a UN resolution do? We have to buy them off. Because we allowed to get the weapons in the first place.

Now you see why everybody wants a nuke. They know the US will back off and give you things if you have one.

I''m on a roll with funny posts, I''m not going after Rat today.

After last remarks of Bush Iraq case seems even more suspicious than it was. Basically the guy says that ""maybe Iraq destroyed its WMDs (or moved). one way or another, Iraq can not threaten USA with WMDs any more "".

I was calm already but it really pissed me off- of course Iraq can not threaten anyone anymore- its occupied, dammit! Maybe they destroyed their WMDs after all? Well, who cares anyway, American flag waves in Baghdad.

I recall one comedy called ""Canadian Bacon"" (or something, I watched it in Russian) which is basically about a US president who feels depressed because all the great presidents have had a war, not him. So guy decides to declare war on Canada (""have you thought why all major canadian cities are located at the US border? why so many canadians are walking among us? they`re ready to invade!"").

I feel depressed. Maybe my country has WMDs as well, hmm... we`re so small so it would be our only chance in case of war... we could have bought couple of them from Belarus.... doesnt it give anyone ideas?

If WMD are not found Bush has a problem. I think they will be found.

Whens the cutoff date, when he leaves office? Just wanna know so we can all declare Bush ""in trouble"". Seems like to me he already failed to find the huge stockpiles everyone was hoping for.

Can we just arm South Korea to the hilt and let them kill each other?

Being sarcastic, of course. Well, sorta.......

Not just him, but also Colin Powell and the CIA who claimed there was hundreds of tons of VX nerve gas, botulinim toxin, anthrax, and the like. I really doubt we''ll find that many now.

They would refuse the ""gift."" You do realize their president is a political activist with a penchant for playing the accoustical guitar?
