Video Game Deals Catch-All

Latest GoGamer 48 hour Madness Sale:

Roleplaying Collection: Dungeon Lord, Spellforce 2, Gothic 3 (I) for PC - $9.90

Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway for XBox 360 - $14.90

Sid Meier's Railroads! for PC - $5.90

Sam and Max: Season One (I) for PC - $5.90

Sadly for my wallet, I am picking up all of the above, plus this, which was on sale for $4 or something in a recent 48 hour madness sale. It's not part of the current 48 hour madness though.
Hidden & Dangerous 2 for PC - $5.90

I've also belated realized that GoGamer has 3.0% fatwallet cash back. Ouuhh, the savings!!!

In other news, the unemployment rate has risen to 8.1%.

EDIT: The countdown timer tells me that there are *ahem* 88 hours left on this 48 hour sale. That's just .. madness!

On one hand, it's really starting to irritate me how Gogamer won't ship to Canada. On the other, it's probably keeping me in the black since I already have enough places to buy games I have little chance of playing every week.

Agreed. I'm both irritated and relieved.

Yikes, I'd like to grab Sam and Max. That's even cheaper then ebay prices.

GOG.Com Weekend Deal:
Simon the Sorcerer Pack - $14.97

It has Simon the Sorcerer 1, 2, and 3D. I don't know much about these games, but the graphics and interface in the first two are very reminiscent of Monkey Island. I think they are SCUMM games?

Sid Meier's Railroads! for PC - $5.90

As a Sid Meier fan from the beginning and someone who played Railroad Tycoon back when it was released, I was scared away from this by the lousy reviews. Did it get patched to being worth the time, much less the $6?

Also, a request of our overlords: Please add some server functionality to make this thread invisible starting from Friday 5:00PM through Monday morning. Thanks.

W.H.Smith.co.uk has 2100 points cards for £14.93.

World of Goo (PC) $4.99 on Steam.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/22...

That's 75% off and a great deal for those on the fence.

Yeah, that's a sweet deal. Great game.

Already have it for the Wii, but... for $4.99? Just bought it again so I can play it on PC. I mean, at that price, how can you go wrong?

I will most likely be opening up my wallet to steam yet ago for their ridiculous weekend sale.

Edit: Curses! Steam is currently having issues with letting me download World of Goo probably because $5 is too good to pass up.

EDIT: Nevermind

Yes! I was going to eventually buy World of Goo on the Wii, but for $5 it's steam all the way.

I did my part to stimulate the economy. $5 at a time, baby.

Much more effective than my $1 at a time plan. Less stimulating though.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts - $19.98

Amazon deal of the day.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...

BUY THIS. I've been meaning to post about BK: Nuts & Bolts, but this really is a fantastic game. Best game I played last year, maybe for the last two years.

Isn't it a lot of time trials, though? That and driving around with boxes. I don't know. I played it some, but I got this feeling I was going to spend hours driving crates around for Mumbo to open.

Oh, sure, there are too many time trial type challenges, but they're usually trivial to complete. Four wheels, a few big engines and some decent driving skills guarantees victory. Overall there's not that much driving around with boxes and there's no pressing need to grab everything you can see (though I think it's more fun with the extra parts). Furthermore, boxes become easier to collect over time.

The fun is just building the vehicles, not the challenges though -- for interesting, non-time trial challenges I'd say I spent far more time building things than actually playing the challenge. If you approach the game the same way, you'll find your playtime is skewed away from time trials.

Video Game Console Deal:

Saw this through Woot, refurbished Xbox 360 for (20 GB) for 149.99

Not sure if this is a great deal for refurbished 360s or not, but thought I'd share.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars at Newegg for $8 with free shipping.

If you have a Half-Price Book Store in your area, I've seen new copies there for $5.

Save the memory blocks!

I purchased this a while back and personally I don't think it's worth $5. Mainly because it's not worth my time - I could be playing almost any other game I own and have a better time.

Thats a great deal for a really good game that just never managed to get enough traction..Theres still some decent servers out there with good players though.

I'm interested in the game but by most accounts it's still extremely buggy.

CoD WaW for $40 at Amazon for the next four hours.

edit: oh and Heavenly Sword ( I don't own it, btw) is only $40 too. It's today's Video Game Deal of the Day.

Simon 1 and 2 were awesome-- I found them back in the day repackaged for Win98 and snatched them up. Simon 3D I'm not so sure about.

I'm not sure if they were SCUMM, but they were the same game type (point-and-click adventure), and almost as good as the Monkey Island games. I'd say $15 is a sweet deal, if you have nothing else on your plate at the moment.

PS. The deal for $15 is still on, apparently.

GamersGate has Mount & Blade for $7.99 this weekend.

Can you take that key and apply it to Steam? Because I'm there if you can.
