I dont see any mention of a poll. In fact I dont see any mention of it except for the title.
The article talks about incidents as evidence of the heavily strained relations. I saw one mention that 54% of Brittish citiczens dont regard France as an ally. The talked about the vandalism of a WWI cemetary. They quoted a french politician''s view and even took a blip from Chirac''s denouncement of the vandalism.
I don''t see how they get from a vandalism of a cemetary to the heading?
This sure is sad news, but knowing that there are idiots everywhere I would not read too much into that.
I mean here in Germany there are still some idiots running around desecrating jewish cemetaries. Does that mean most of the germans hate jews? It sure does not. But no matter how hard you try and we are really trying at school etc., there are still people falling for dumb nazi propaganda.
But this happens not only here, but in almost all countries. It seems to me merely that these people seek for an easy scapegoat for their own failed lives: ""I don''t get a job - it must be the foreigners taking our jobs away!"" Not a fitting but still a valid example. One can easily disprove this argument, but it still gets into the heads of common people due to the ill logic these demagogues use.

I actually agree 100%. The same can be said about so many things in life; racism, sexism, anti-Americanism, etc, etc, etc. A lot of these people have thier own issues to deal with, yet it''s much easier to put the blame on someone else.
There is no accountability for people''s actions. Or better yet, people don''t want to be held accountable for their own actions. It''s always someone else''s fault.
You mean the french foreign policy, right? Because hating the ''French'' would be disturbing.
I''m always surprised at how people on both sides turn politics into people. It''s ironic the way many criticize those whose anger at our foreign policy turns into hatred of Americans, but then turn right around and do the same thing back.
Yes, I meant the French Foreign policy, and those who shape it, not to mention the ones who support it.
I also dislike that a neo-nazi was put on their ballots several years back, not close to being elected, which says something, but put on the ballot nevertheless (and yes, in that same vein, I dislike anyone who thought David Duke was a good choice for politician).
I liked France going back to the US War of Independance, when they helped us with the British Fleet, but from there its gone downhill. Don''t care for the culture or food.
More then anything, I think their presence on the international scene is a joke and insulting. Sure they can have their view point, but I don''t have to like it.
And your view on turning politics into people is just human nature. If its not politics its the have''s vs have nots or religion or race. At the least, politics gives you room to point out ''evidence'' supporting your cause, insomuch its easier saying ""France has a history of being spineless in the international setting, yet doesn''t seem to prevent them from shooting off at the mouth."" versus saying ""The French are smelly.""

There are a lot of far right nuts sitting on local councils here in the UK. Neo Nazism is starting to become a real problem here in the UK again. Unfortunately the war is bringing a lot of these nuts out of the woodwork.

excuse me, but communism? Where did you get that from? I know you have some problems with the french, but come on communism? You''re not serious are you?
I think you put too much stock into polls Ulairi, you seem to bring them up fairly often.
After all, 70% of polls are pure BS

This seems suspect to me.

Still hard not to hate France right now.

Does that include crepes? If it includes crepes... well... I don''t know what to say about you.
I''m all for neutron bombing France back to the Jurassic era but not at the cost of losing crepes.
