Dirty little Deus Ex 2 shots

Sexy

I know its sort of a "duh" question, but is anybody else getting ramped up for this game? The graphics are amazing, and it's Deus Ex 2! Everything I heard about the gameplay made me go "Hmm, good idea". For example, the merging of the skills and augs. So the gameplay has me going, I enjoyed the story of the first one and this looks to be more of the same, and Sluts!

As another question, to possible get a discussion going, is there anything about this game you've heard about and didn't like?

Sluts: They make everything better!

Well, I''ve heard the game isn''t coming out tomorrow. That kind of makes me angry.

Other than that, I haven''t read too many previews but I trust Warren and Harvey to do a good job.

Argh! The one weakness to my ""Deus Ex 2 is perfect"" argument. Damn your evil robot eyes!

I hope it''s not as system intensive as the screenshots look! I don''t want to be upgradiing again soon...but then again I don''t think this''ll be out that soon!

I''ll be getting the XBox version. So upgrading is not necessary

Everytime the release a bunch of screens for it, I suddenly become terrified that my comp will crap out trying to run it.

Well, my current comp sure as hell won''t handle it at an acceptable framerate, but I plan to upgrade sometime in the second half of 2003 anyway. Having a faster machine never hurts (except financially) and there already a bunch of games oncoming or existing that would benefit from that such as S.T.A.L.K.E.R., IL-2 FB, BF42 (works, but could be smoother), C&C: Generals etc. etc.

ChrisG made a good point about the X-box. Didn''t know it was coming out for that as well, and if so, I may just go that route.
I''m guessing I''d give up mods/ player made levels, by going on the Box, but assuming the release dates are close enough, I may just have to go the console way.

I got Morrowind for the PC vs the x-box, but mostly b/c of the downloadable content...other then that, it seemed the X-box version was just as good.

But, yeah, I''m looking forward to seeing it. Dues Ex was one of the few games I went back and played over again.

Is this supposed to hit the Xbox at the same time as the pc? Hmmm, if the controls are as refined as Halo''s I just might go the Xbox route with this.

Even thought it''s tempting for me to get it for the Xbox. I''m still going to buy it for PC... Though I hope they have one for OS X, too. Dang,... I just got the G4 PowerBook, but there seem not too many games for Mac... unless I want to play The Sims! However they did have DE for Mac!

I''m fully lubed for DX2.

One thing I''ve noticed - not so much in the most recent batch of interviews, but from the last couple of months - is that Spector has been taking little digs at Harvey Smith, mentioning that some of the decisions that have been made for the game are not exactly the way he (WS) would have done things. I think he was referring to the fact that the DX2 team have reduced the overall linearity of the narrative in favour of player agency, which reduces the ability of the writers to tell a single cohesive story. The story, augmented (no pun intended) by the flavour material, such as books, emails, newspapers, datacubes etc was the main hook for me in DX1.

The other thing was that Sheldon Pacotti (writer, story) said in an interview a couple of months ago that he was doing some different things with the story - ""surreal"" was one of the adjectives he used. Not sure what to make of that, tbh. He''d better not be going all Fountain of Dreams on our asses.
