Done! I like eating it with a salad that has some sort of bacon topping. Perhaps homemade bacon bits with bacon ranch dressing.

I'm not a fan of Bacon Ranch, or most of the 'flavored' ranch dressings. They end up tasting funny to me. That and I only really like the Hidden Valley version of ranch dressing.

I'm pretty sure that Hidden Valley makes a Bacon Ranch. Also, if you want to, you can always do homemade ranch with freshly fried minced bacon added.

Ok, I was actually referring to the Hidden Valley variety of Bacon Ranch and their other flavors. I'm fine w/ regular ranch and actual bacon.

You should try Hidden Valley's Spicy Ranch. All the ranch goodness you like with a dash of zestiness.

Bacon Ice Cream?

Don't get the bacon ranch... horrible horrible stuff.

Hey, Mike Nelson's famous...again. I might have to try increasing my bacon intake just to see if it works.

Well, so much for that.

Canadian maple bacon extra crispy...

This might have been posted already, but has anyone ever tried maple bacon cookies?

Bacon story:

Bacon story:

Ever year I go home for Christmas, and every year we have a big breakfast; hash browns, eggs, toast, poached eggs, waffles, French toast, etc. Big Breakfast morning came around and I devised this brilliant plan to acquire more bacon than my 3 brothers. My mother-in-law tends to not make enough bacon. I knew fiancé does not like bacon, yes I know she has no soul, and I decided to use this to my advantage.  When it came time to divide the bacon, Jenna asked for her share and than proceeded to go sit down. The plan at this point was working great without flaw until my fiancé turned to me and asked me if I wanted my bacon now! :S Of course my brothers heard, threw a big stink that I was exploiting the system and labeled me a bacon thief which has stuck with me since.

I phoned last week and my brother picked up, realized it was me, said,” Bacon Thief” and hung up!

I love BACON!!!

The Bacon Takedown?

The Brooklyn Bacon Takedown is happening Sunday March 29 at 5PM. At Radegast Hall & Beer Garden in Williamsburg - 113 N 3rd St. off the Bedford Ave L Stop. It will be super amazing. We are looking for bacon-based recipes. Yes, BACON RECIPES. COMPETING HEAD-TO-HEAD. Bacon could be the main ingredient. Or there could be a hint of bacon. The main thing is, it must be totally delicious. A bacon chili. A bacon pasta. A bacon cobbler, perhaps. Or something none of us could ever have anticipated. Just make sure you make enough for the deluge of fans who will undoubtedly arrive to judge you.

Your recipes will compete, head to head. The throngs will come on down, and taste your creations, and vote on the winner. Like Patton or Henry V before the battle- I tremble, thinking of the carnage to be. YOU MUST EMAIL ME TO ENTER!

Sounds interesting, but there is one problem: "It will be super amazing"..

The best bacon recipe I know of is Fettucini alla Carbonara. It's super easy to make, too.

1lb Fettucini Noodles
1lb Bacon
4 Eggs
.5 cp heavy cream
1lb parmesan cheese(bonus points if you have to grate it by hand because it came in a lump)
1 stick of butter

Directions:

Boil water for the noodles. Cook them until they are al dente. While the noodles are cooking, Cook the Bacon extra crispy, so that it will chop well. Don't quite burn it though. While that's going on, mix the eggs and heavy cream in a bowl, then set it aside.

When the noodles are done, drain them thoroughly and mix in the egg/cream mixture along with the butter and bacon. When that's done, add some fresh chopped parsley and serve hot.

A chat friend's recipe:

*** Patroclus 1. heat pan. *** Patroclus 2. add bacon. *** Patroclus 3. when bacon is cooked, remove from pan. Patroclus: any other cooking you do to or with it just reduces the proportion of bacon in the final product, and therefore (by definition) makes it worse

Bacon wrapped steak:

Ingredients:

Steak
Bacon

Yea, I disagree with that. Wrapping a steak with bacon is the rough equivalent of 1+1=1000. The recipe I listed? Bacon and Cheese and Fat and Pasta. Can't go wrong with that either.

God I want some bacon and/or pasta and/or cheese and/or steak now...

Make the pasta recipe I listed and grill a steak while you're at it, then chop it over the top of a bowl of it. That way you get all of it!

That's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard... *drool*

How to Make Your Own Bacon.

This is probably the single most delicious-looking blog page I have ever seen.

My girlfriend made breakfast for me this morning. It is an Asian breakfast dish consisting of a savory, crispy, fried crepe (called a green onion pancake)filled with scrambled egg, more green onion, soy sauce, and thick-sliced applewood bacon. Top it with some soy paste, and you have happiness on a plate.

Bacon goodness for everyone in the Portland area: Voodoo Doughnuts, a local shop known for it's odd image, odd creations, and ability to perform legal weddings, sells maple bacon bars every weekend. Their vaguely NSFW menu (an anatomically-inspired doughnut is pictured) provides more info. Note that the voodoo doll doughnut is filled with raspberry jelly for extra realism.

Egg Pancake with bacon sounds amazing. A genius came up with this one.

Oh, good Christ, I'd explode if I lived in driving distance of that place.

Simply. No.

Now I want to smoke my own bacon. I don't even have a smoker! I need a Korean friend with a smoker to move nearby, I think.

Oh, wouldn't we all like to smoke our own bacon.

That's what she said.

Well I've got some Zig-Zags....

I'm sure most of you have already seen this Jim Gaffigan short about our favorite food - BACON http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xpcpqz6jGig

It should be studied carefully.

My favorite is marinating my bacon in apple cider and cinnamon.

Oh man I miss Amherst.

I tried it out this morning and it works.
