Super And Not Super Street Fighter IV Catch all

I had to look on a forum to figure out how to do it, so don't worry.

Just unlocked Seth, too. 'Forcing' me to play through all the characters is quite annoying.

Dammit. Curiosity piqued. ... clicking... link. Might as well start in on the Wild Turkey while I'm at it.

Awe, 1Dgaf, I liked your version better. Tips from a friend feels much less like cheating... I'm struggling not to click the link.

Telling you how to unlock characters isn't cheating. Even using cheat codes to unlock characters isn't cheating. Click the link.

It's not cheating if you paid for the content in either case.

I envy the joy you guys share over this game. It looks fun.

I wish I slightly had a clue how to approach these games.

Just panic and flail like I do

EDIT: I'm actually really disappointed in Seth. I mean, didn't monochromatic amalgamation bosses go out with Dural? I think Capcom could've done better with all the time they had. And throwing two Sonic Booms consecutively just feels like playing against a modded arcade cabinet. Boo.

Yeah, but in a way he's very much in the spirit of M. Bison in Street Fighter II who was incredibly cheap. I assume someone at Capcom finally picked up "Watchmen" and said, "Hey Rook! BOSS MAN!" At least that's what I pretend it was like in my mind.

Cheap and final bosses in fighting games doesn't surprise me. It's definitely nothing new. I just think his design is uninspired along with his move list. But I guess it's all part of his "mystique."

How about a female boss? That'd be new.

All the complaints about Seth, but noone has mentioned the obvious one yet: What the hell kind of villain is named SETH?

I'm Seth. Just Seth. From God, to Kane, to Seth. I am his right hand and I have a task for you.

There was someone here in the forums that had made his own custom stick for use in SFIV / Arcade games. He had installed some clear Sanwa or ... (another brand I can't remember) buttons along with some artwork pulled from deviantart for his box.

What I'm looking for is - what kind of buttons can I use to upgrade the Hori EX Pro stick with? Seems all the reviews say it's a great stick, but the buttons could use an update. I searched and they all appear to run about 2.50 each. So for <20.00 I can upgrade my unit (yeah I said it). I'd need to know the specific button type to use, or what makes the difference between a 24 and a 30 button (their sku's throw me off)... that kinda stuff.

I modified the Hori EX2 with new Sanwa buttons, as well as a new ball top and restrictor plate. Don't know if it takes the same button size as the EX Pro, though. The other popular button manufacturers are Seimitsu (JP style similar to Sanwa) or HAPP (American style). I know Seimitsu has clear buttons, don't think Sanwa does and not sure about HAPP.

I more or less followed this illustrated guide.

Used these parts from Lizard Lick:
Item Name: Sanwa OBSF-30 Pushbutton; Item Number: obsf30
Item Name: Sanwa 35mm Ball Top; Item Number: LB-35-
Item Name: Sanwa GT-Y; Item Number: GT-Y

So is there some kind of fight club or fight night set up for gwj? I just bought this game. If anyone wants to beat me up, my live tag is IUMogg

I just ordered the game through BB's in-store pickup. I'll be on tonight ready to get my nuts handed to me. Gamertag is Lord Haven.

Can't wait to get back into this series. It's been a long time for me. I skipped over the whole Street Fighter 3 Alpha days.

The last boss is named for Seth Killian, a Capcom employee and 'advisor' on SFIV.

Stuff about modding a joystick

Thanks Sir. That's exactly the answer I was looking for. I received my stick from UPS this afternoon (well, the wife messaged me that I had a big package... so I'm just assuming it's the controller). I'll be interested to give it a play and see if the buttons are up to par or not. If not, I can hit lizardlick up and get some new ones.

Cheers!

Hmmm, I wonder what my submission for your tag will be....hmmm...

n00b question - how do I join the group on Saturday? Do I need to friend someone in particular, then join the party? Or is there somewhere everyone will meet beforehand (i.e. IRC? Vent?)

First rule of Street Fighter Club is you do not talk about Street Fighter Club. The second rule of Street Fighter Club is you do not talk about Street Fighter Club.

I don't see the group growing to outrageous sizes just yet, so I'm sure if you can friend up a few of us, there will be a party to join and we can launch / play from there.

I do like the idea of using a Ventrilo server if we find ourselves drawing a crowd for this. (if that's feasable)

Skype might be a bit easier and more Mac friendly. Or AIM. Just a suggestion

Why sould you use Vent to as part of playing on the 360?

To be fashionably complicated.

I was just asking if it was a rallying point, I was not proposing we use Vent/TS in lieu of XBL.

It was just a thought if the group's size grows beyond 8. I guess we could always start a second party, but that would be too easy... as Larry said above me.

Ok, I'm at the point where I want to obtain a copy of that damned 'in-de-structable' song that keeps playing, find the developers home phone number, and fill their answering machine with that song over and over!

Ahh, but you see I was playing left handed. But in fact I am right handed, or something....

I HAVE IT!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Ahem. Scored the CE for 1.20 less then the SE to boot.

Just thought I'd dredge this up from the other thread. [smilicon, smirking, maybe with a Guinness or a glass of Scotch.]

Glad you got a good deal, tho. See you on.

so what's the conclusion on the gamepad? Worth picking up or would a stick be better?

OK, I'm officially tired of the kids who treat Akuma like the New England Patriots of Madden. Enough with the mid-air fireballs. I played some kid who had no business winning. I ended up falling to a fireball that Akuma can throw that hits several times. It blocked out my EX fireball and kept on going. Blurgh. Bogus.

Anyway... Seriously looking forward to a multiplayer patch. It'd be nice to get a lobby of at least four people together to switch off while in a party. Other than that, I'm happy that Online play is smooth. I only had one match end because of a lost connection, and that one never actually got started.

The Fightpad: I like it a lot. It's responsive, I can pull off moves at command, and there;s really no substitute (IMO) for having six buttons strung across the face of the pad for Street Fighter.

On the down side the two shoulder buttons (for all kicks and all punches) are a little on the stiff side making it occasionally tough to hit the punch string in crunch time if you have a leak left index finger like I guess I do. I've actually found myself switching to a crab grip on occasion if I know I'm going to need to bust out the punches string.

If you're looking to put any amount of time into the game and are considering a controller but don't want to spend more than $100 I can highly recommend the Fightpad. Especially if you check out the retailer and they give you the green light on the return after opened like Best Buy did. That way you're checking it out risk free.

It makes me feel much more comfortable playing Street Fighter, especially when I'm switching between weak, strong, and fierce attacks. Balance is key.

It was cheaper then the SE otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. :p
