Video Game Deals Catch-All

I went to check the Circuit city discounts. They were picked pretty clean, but they seemed to have a good amount of solid PC games left. I picked up Civ:IV Colonization and Sonic Chronicles on the ds for about $40.

I went to CC yesterday for the first time since the sale started... man, lame.

They were trying to sell the 50" Samsung plasma TV I wanted for over $2000! It was selling for $1300 on Amazon.

That's what the liquidation teams do. Jack the price up past retail and try and capitalize on "It must be a good deal" mentality.

40% off games at the CC I went to. It was mostly devoid of stuff I was interested in playing, though there was what is widely considered "good stuff" available. I did notice they have X360s at 25% off -- a good deal if you're looking to join the fun.

I need to head back to CC and check it out. They had the wired version of the Xplorer Guitar Hero guitar for $15. I was thinking of picking one up so the Mrs. & I could play coop together. That and I just really prefer it to the Rock Band guitars (if I ever get around to buying it) and wouldn't mind having a spare.

Logitech G15 keyboard for $46 + shipping on Tanga.

Nostromo n52 Tournament Edition for $53 shipped.

I have the older version of the n52 and I love the hell out of it, but you can't seem to find those anymore so it's the fancy shmancy glowy Tourney Edition or nothing.

Not trying to be a dick or anything, but Newegg also has it for $50 shipped. I've always wanted to justify getting one of these, but my desk space is kinda limited. Maybe it makes a lot of sense if you are PC gaming from a couch. I think it is one of those things I'll have to try before I buy.

I've heard that the n52te is pretty bad, the Amazon reviews are pretty harsh on the build.

Huh. Wonder if it's any different than the n52 I have. The thing isn't perfect but I still love it all to hell.

Hmm, looks like Steam has Defense Grid for 25% off ($14.99) until March 2nd. I really considered getting this one, but ultimately decided against it. But now I'm wavering...

*shakes fist* Steeeeeeaaaaaammmm!!!!

Warner Bros. apparently is having a special on Arkham Asylum for pre-order.

Slickdeals says:

Warner Brothers has Batman: Arkham Asylum Pre-Order (PS3 & XBox 360) for $48 - $12 (with code WBSURVYJ9) = $36. Shipping is free if you spend $50 or more, otherwise it's $7.95. Thanks Taboner

Note: This is a pre-order, the game will be released on May 26, 2009

They also have Battlestations Pacific (Xbox 360) for the same price. This game is also a preorder and will be released April 14, 2009

Ive used the 'old' n52 for years and love it. The te version is nice, but I've read that Razer did the software for it and that's the part that's not up to snuff. Seems there are some issues with binding macros. I've also read that the thumb stick isn't as easily manipulable as the D-pad on the original.

Personally I've been eyeing the Logitech G-13.

I've heard the G15 just sucks down batteries quick, is that true?

It's a wired keyboard, so I'm going to have to answer "No".

According to this thread on CAG, the following are on sale at target starting Sunday, Feb 22 until the 28th:

Left 4 Dead 360 $39.99
Dead Space 360/PS3 $39.99
Prince Of Persia 360/PS3 $39.99

I must be confused, isn't there a wireless version similar to the G15?

Hmmmm, very nice but MSRP $80, though Hard to justify that right now when the n52 is still kicking along OK.

That's a shame, I love the D-pad even though I never use it as one. Right (down) is crouch, down (back) is reload, up (forward) is sprint, etc.

Dell is selling X360 Arcades for $160 with free shipping. 20% off coupon code is PLDWH47D$6BT2J. Get 'em while they're hot, as this deal usually sells out really quickly. People on Ben's Bargains are saying that these have the new Jasper chipset. For the uninitiated, these do NOT come with a harddrive but rumor has it Microsoft sells a refurbished 20GB harddrive + 3 months of Live for $30.

You guys know you can just pop the stick off, right? Is the d-pad still bad then? It's probably my least favorite part of the whole setup, so I only bind things to it that I don't need in a hurry.

I don't much care for the wheel. It's not nearly as responsive or accurate as a mouse wheel, though maybe that's just mine.

Well then you'll definitely be interested to hear the liquidation has increased to 40% off "social games" like Rock Band guitars, and 50% off "anti-social games" i.e. everything else.

The selection was really slim now, but one side benefit was they condensed all of the gaming stuff into a smaller section so they can sell the game racks I guess. This means that games people hid around the store have been placed back in the appropriate section, so I was able to pick up that Xbox 360 Naruto game for $10. Yeah I have great taste in games.

They also had PSPs on sale at $118 I think.

GOG has their Oddworld Pack containing Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus for $16.98 through Monday 2/23. Not my cup of tea, but thought people might like to know about this.

Click the banner at the top of this page and tell 'em Certis and Elysium sent you!

Also (lots of game stuff in the old inbox this morning), I got this from Amazon:

As someone who has shopped PlayStation 2 at Amazon.com, you might like to know that on Monday, February 23, 2009, the Amazon.com Gold Box will feature video game products for PlayStation 2 gamers all day long.

Not even sure what that means, really, and the link in the email just went to the Gold Box page where there were no details despite the email claiming there would be. But I just thought folks that still play PS2 might be interested.

That deal is worth it just for Trials 2. That's an excellent game!

I bought i-Fluid over Christmas, its well worth the money. The level design becomes fiendishly difficult, but its not unfair.

All these games for $10?! This is a far better deal than last week's L4D if you ask me. Gabe done gone crazy

In my local Circuit City, they had collector's editions of Fallout 3 for the PC for $35 and the PS3 version for $30. The Xbox 360 version looks like it sold out a long time ago (nothing but crap 'o da crap left in the 360 aisle).
