UK may back out of War in Iraq

From CBS News

Well, looks like when somebody asked which ass he should watch out for, he picked his own. Can't say I blame him, I've never seen a party turn on its top dog like that since...well, maybe Watergate, but I don't think the Republicans were that vocal about it.

I guess he realized that everybody portray him as Bush''s lapdog,... I was waiting for Bush to say; Go fetch! boy...

The BBC had a report saying that this isn''t true. Blair has never said that he would back out. I''ll try to find you a link. (I saw it on TV)

Ya because it couldn''t be possible that Blair thinks it''s the right thing to do!

Blair is probably the most intelligent, non-diabolical world leader I''ve ever seen.

I like Blair, he''s funny and a great speachmaker.

He''s like a latter-day Jimmy Carter, and that''ll cost him his job.

Is it too late to repeal the law that you have to be a natural born US citiczen to be elected president?

At least I think I remember that being one of the requirements.

Aside from my disagreement with him on the war issue, I agree strongly with this statement. I really like Blair, and hope he survives politically.

Unfortunately, he''s in a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don''t situation. If he goes ahead with a war, his Labour Party will drum him out of office. If he backs out, the Conservative Party and the few Labour MPs who support war would turn on him. Either way, a lot of people will be upset with his final decision.

He is nothing like Jimmy Carter.

Hmmm... Looks like we''d have to repeal the requirement of being a US citiczen for the last 14 years too.

Maybe he could be a Democrats Vice President candidate in the next election.

If he was the Democrats candidate for President I''d vote for him. If there was one Democrat like him, I''d vote for him.

But Democrats cause cancer, right?

They eat their young too.

Part of the reason that list of things Saddam should do was actually released because of this

Good old Donald Rumsfeld again, the list was released to try and appease a lot of people in the undecided camp and to try and limit a lot of the damage done.

Just a quick question for you guys. Are these political threads going to die down anytime soon or should we make a new forum section for them?

It''s getting to be a bit much, everything else it getting drowned out by the noise.

I was actually going to suggest a poilitical debates forum as I agree that they''re now starting to dominate the everything else forum.

(You could call it Ulairi''s forum! )

Rummy may be a great DS but he should be put on a leash. We''re trying to fix our relations with world and the world doesn''t like him.

Another reason that a lot of undecided ministers are annoyed and pushing Blair harder is the fact that apparently no other companies other than US companies are going to be allowed to tender for oil work in Iraq. (or any other work in rebuilding Iraq)
and that''s annoyed themas it makes it look like the british are only there to fight and then leave

If I can verify and find a link to that I''ll post it.

Where did you hear that? We told the French, Russians, and Germans that their oil deals would be honoured with a new government.

I doubt the Axis of Weasel would believe Bush. They still view him as an oil baron beholden to his former colleagues and would be perfectly willing to screw four countries out of their oil deal in favor of American corporations. Not that it''ll happen, mind you; I just think that the Axis is so distrustful Bush that they''ll believe the overly simplistic ramblings of conspiracy theorists.

I obviously got that completely wrong. (d''oh) this is the story to which I was referring. It''s actually about US companies tendering to rebuild Iraq before the wars started.
