Guilty Pleasures (Movies)

That could be a whole other thread. Guilty movie pleasures: Movies you know were soo cheesy, yet you can watch over and over.

Well, Pulse is right, and we've already done TV and music, so this was the obvious next step: What are your guilty pleasure movies? Come on, dig deep, and come up with the REALLY embarassing ones!

Blue Crush...much like the waters around the Hawaiian shore, it has little depth, but I can''t stop liking it. What''s wrong with me?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

If there''s something wrong with you, Rat Boy, what does it say about me that I can''t help but love ""Dirty Dancing"" - a movie with no substance and tons of sub-par acting?

I actually kinda dig watching old romance movies. Anything with Cary Grant. I feel dirty and ashamed just typing it.

""Beverly Hills Ninja"" Out off all the crazy movies I enjoy watching and trust me there are a lot of them, this one is the one I feel most guilty of. I don''t know why I like it I just do.

Anything with Chris Farley - Tommy Boy especially.
Dude Wheres my Car - laughed the whole way through.

Tons of others just like those.

Be not ashamed, Kriegshund. We have about ten Cary Grant movies on DVD and VHS. ""The Philadelphia Story"" is the best one, and I sure love ""Father Goose"" and ""Indiscreet"". The timing of his delivery is brilliant. My favorite line? Jimmy Stewart hiccups in a drunken stupor, and Cary Grant ad libs ""Excuse me!"" It''s all Stewart can do to keep from cracking up...

Elysium is a closet Cary Grant fan, too...

Red Zone Cuba and Mitchell.

Three words : Hot...Merging...Action!

Red Zone Cuba and Mitchell.

Three more words: ""I''m Cherokee Jack!""

By ""We"" you mean ""I"", right?

My guilty movie pleasure would have to be Babe, that movie is so awesome, it moves me to tears every time I see it.

I don''t know if there is such a thing as a guilty pleasure movie. It seems to me that it''s en vogue to like bad movies. My roommate is a fan of some of the worst kung-fu films in the history of the universe, and he loves himself for it.

However, I must say, that someone loves Dirty Dancing does repulse me on a very deep level. It''s like my soul''s been raped.

I love sucky Hollywood action blockbusters such as The Planet of the Apes, The Time Machine, and Mission Impossible.

I also watch my fare share of chick-flicks with my girlfriend. However, if truth be known, I actually enjoy them. 10 Things I Hate About You is one of my favs.

I can find a reason to enjoy almost anything I watch.

The Lone Wolf and Cub/babycart assasin flicks. Shiny swords, buckets o'' blood, and 70''s music. You just can''t go wrong. Hell, any japanese samurai flick from 1965 to the mid 70''s.

""You killed my _____, prepare to die at the hands of my _____ technique! Hyaaah!""

To this day, the only movie I have ever cried during is Earnest Goes to Camp. Poor Earnest, all he wanted to do was make friends with the kids! They totally dissed him. But, Earnest prevails and becomes the BMOCamp. I miss you, Jim Varney!

I used to love them Top Gun like fighter pilot movies because of my hidden wish to be an aviator sometimes. Got off of it when I began reading on aircraft seriously, those movies are full of unrealistic bs

Damn, Elysium, she just threw it out there. She might as well have brought your blankie into your class because you forgot it. Man, that was an obscure analogy...where did that come from? ARGH...repressed memories flooding conscious mind....MOMMY!

Pearl Harbor: I liked the planes NOT the love story.

Moulin Rouge: Umm....It starred Obi Wan Kanobi!?

The Goddess addressed me directly. 8)

My favorites of these included the horrid Iron Eagle movies. ""Hey, let''s let that kid fly the F-16, ma brutha."" Too funny.

Hmm... Guilty pleasure movies! Don''t seen to many of those... however one thing pops into my mind is ''The One'' No story... or story that I'm not aware of..., some plain acting, but I like the idea , I actually went to see it in theaters 3 times...

Dear lord, I forgot about that one. Iron Eagle has to be in the top list somehow- it''s got the awesome Queen themesong, the teenage kid in F16, and Louis Gosset Jr. Perfection!

You know how much months of therapy it cost me to get the name ''Iron Eagle'' out of my head? And now you have reintroduced my dark side to it again I guess I should find myself a corner to cry in right now.

They Live! with Roddy Piper and Keith David. Cheesy as all hell, but damn me if I don''t love it to death.

Damn, Elysium, she just threw it out there. She might as well have brought your blankie into your class because you forgot it.

I''ve decided to pretend it didn''t happen. You don''t go against a Goddess, and you certainly don''t go against a pregnant Goddess. They are easily angered.

Sorry man, just stay away from Iron Eagle 1 (not too horrible), 2 (ugh), or 3 (WTF were they thinking?) and you should be okay.

Hey! I loved the first Iron Eagle, hey if that kid can waltz onto a USAF base and clamly nick an F-16 why the hell can''t I? It was all like a gung ho version of a scooby doo episode

Mad dictator: and I''d have gotten away with it if it wasn''t for those blasted kids (and their F-16s)

I also love most of the soundtrack but they left the best songs off the soundtrack damn them!

Also getting my ""guilty pleasure"" movie wise is

1: American Ninja - whatever happened to Michael Dudikoff?
2: Invasion USA and the Braddock films by Chuck Norris can''t watch them though nowadays without Laughing my ass off!
3: Commando and Rambo''s 2 upward. Watch as Arnie and Sly single handedly take on the might of small south American (or Russia) countries without reloading!

If you want mindless guility pleasure, it sounds like Swimfan might be up your alley. Now if only all my stalkers could look like Erika Christiansen.

Veloxi ""Babe"" is an awesome movie. No need to be ashamed of that one.

However, I must say, that someone loves Dirty Dancing does repulse me on a very deep level.

Sorry, Luda - I guess I told a little too much. That is why the subject was Guilty Pleasures"". I think Dirty Dancing is one to feel pretty guilty over. It''s such a stupid movie, and yet I''m physically capable of turning it off...maybe I''m mesmerized by Patrick Swayze in tight shirts. I do laugh loudly and often at some of the terrible dialogue. (i.e. ""Nobody puts Baby in a corner!"") Does that redeem my fault at all?

Dumb and Dumber. I loved that movie. Cracks me up.

Actually that was a good movie; I can''t wait and see what they will do with prequel.
