Aliens vs. Predator Catch-All

By Rebellion, no less.

Is this is a stand-up fight or another bughunt?

Badass!

edit: It's a bughunt.

I ain't got time to bleed. (See, now we can quote two movies)

You got time to duck?

Oh, it should also be mentioned that Gearbox's Colonial Marines shooter and Obsidian's Aliens RPG are getting pushed back to 2010, which I suppose you could now call the Year of Aliens. What's the matter? The CIA got you pushin' too many pencils?

Jesus it's the Germans! Run!

They must have been trying to get out of this chicken sh*t outfit.

I fixed the link, since it was one ugly motherf*cker.

Awesome to hear about AvP.

Did I understand the news release correctly that Aliens: Colonial Marines is delayed until next year?

Oh! The Germans are mad at me!

Wait.... so they're going to saturate the market with one type of theme in a game? 2008 was the year of zombies.... 2010 is the year of aliens?

Also.... it better not be an AvP movie tie-in.... don't want that crap, no sir.

Also, also.... i preferred AvP2 to AvP.

This game will make you a god damned sexual Tyrannosaurus, just like me...

The orignal AvP multi-player was one of my absolute favorites back in the day! Seminal game.

I was pretty disappointed with the original AvP. I'm sad that the same studio is going to get to develop another one. I want to see Infinity Ward create AvP!!!

YES!

Oh, and if it bleeds, we can kill it..

I was pretty disappointed with the original AvP.

I had just appropriated the flamethrower and started toasting aliens. My cousin, who was playing on a computer next to me, came running towards me from behind with about three aliens in tow. He calls for help and I whip around opening up full bore with the flamethrower. He runs around on fire along with the aliens. I had no other choice but to mercy kill him with the pulse rifle.

I got hours of entertainment out of that game.

AvP2's single player was fantastic (it was by Monolith, after all!), and is home to a few of my favorite gaming moments. Choosing a favorite between 1 and 2 in terms of multiplayer is a bit more of a tossup. I'd prefer Monolith, but Rebellion is alright in my eyes too.

I'll definitely be keeping my fingers crossed for this one to turn out well

As much as I enjoyed the first AVP games by Rebellion, since then they've kinda had a string of fairly average games. Judge Dread, Rogue Trooper, a freeware National Guard game. None of these were especially bad IMO, but I can't say I'm as excited as if say, Monolith were working on them. I'd still like to see what they end up doing, though.

I preferred AvP2 MP overall but AvP's survival mode was ace.... i was really disappointed when monolith dropped that mode.

BURNS!! STOP IT!

Update. Maybe we could build a fire and sing couple of songs, huh?! Why don't we try that?!

I'm very disappointed to read Colonial Marines may have been cancelled.
I was definitely looking forward to playing it in co-op with other goodjers.

AVPs been done before, sometimes better, sometimes worse.
The IP is just damaged goods. I wanted something new and this hints of yet another rehash.

They also might have cancelled the RPG-type one too.... both reports are rumours for the time being but it's interesting how they have come about. I get the feeling that AvP is a more recent, more marketable brand with 'the kids'.

[edit]Damn my 2 minutes!

Maybe in a new AVP, they could add a fourth race "The Beancounters"

Beancounters can insta-kill everything on screen with the a single click of the right trigger.

Maybe they'll make it like the old Atari Jaguar AvP!

Look into my eye.

Damn. If it is true that Colonial Marines has been canceled, it will be one of the biggest gaming disappointments for me in a long time

I always wanted to try the original AVP. I doubt the gameplay holds up. Was it very doom-like?

I missed the whole Jaguar product line because I was living in Japan at the time. I did see some imported Jaguar units and software in Akihabara store, and I was tempted, sorely tempted specifically because of this title, but.... I didnt buy one.

The overall feel of the game is very clunky, even for it's day. It was like the Jaguar couldn't quite keep up with everything, especially in multiplayer. I don't remember much else about it other than the marine was helpless.

Colonial Marines - not cancelled? http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/942/942245p1.html

"January 7, 2009 - Gearbox Software has revealed that Aliens: Colonial Marines, its highly-anticipated shooter, is on track for a first quarter 2009 release. This word comes roughly a month and a half after Gearbox president Randy Pitchford denied the rumor that the game had been cancelled."
