Bacon

Ooo, I hate Jello.

It's time to show this video again.

I draw the line at Jello, oh hell someone has to make a Jello thread. Jello with bacon...mmm. <--- is obviously in shock over Googling. By the way the Bacon Turkey for Thanksgiving was incredible.

Ok how can you hate Jello! It jiggles!!! You can make it in any shape you want.. and it JIGGLES!!

Yea, and so do fat people, what's your point?

"Geez. I thought you people were supposed to be jolly."

They're not fat, they are extra jiggly.

I saw the Bacon episode of Iron Chef America last night. An absurd amount of bacon was used, though a lot of it was Irish bacon (ie, a loin cut similar to Canadian bacon). I really, really wanted to hit AB after he talked about how good it smelled in the stadium, and how those of us watching at home couldn't experience it.

That is awesome, though I think a bacon band across the bottom would be much better.

Jello is way too easy to hate.

Anything that jiggles as it goes down your throat, really.

Anything that feels slimy and jiggly kind of freaks me out.
I'm not a fan of gummy bears or jelly beans, either.

I'm fine with pudding though.
Mmm pudding.

Slimy jiggly things killed Blue in Old School. I forgive them, though.

Bacon Watch!

Mike Nelson, of MST3K and RiffTrax fame, is eating nothing but bacon for the entire month. My hat's off to him. I don't know if I could go through that.

No, it needs to be on top. If you scroll the screen up and down the bacon looks almost real.

Pretty sure they'll be dead by the end of the month.

Oh come on. If you believe Morgan Spurlock actually stuck to his alleged McDonald's diet, then Mike Nelson should do just fine.

True. That's still a little gross though.
Bacon everyday for 30 days. Blegh.

One mans quest for dominance over the bacon explosion.... I also like the 5th guy.. he must be a goodjer.

Isn't that basically the Atkins diet?

Given that he ordered from everywhere on the menu, I actually do believe that.

On Bacon, I have an awesome dish. It also involves lots of dairy and pasta, but Bacon is still key here.

Fettucini Alla Carbonara, the down and dirty version.

1lb Fettucini
1lb Bacon
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese
2 large, grade A eggs.
1/2 cup fresh chopped parsley

In a pot, bring enough water to a boil to cover the pasta. Add ~1 tbsp of salt before adding noodles. In a skillet, fry the bacon to your desired doneness. Pour off all but 1-2 tbsp of the grease, preferably into a jar for later use. In a bowl, combine the eggs and the heavy cream, whisking them together thoroughly. Once the noodles are cooked al dente, drain them and return to the pot. Add the egg/cream mixture, and combine thoroughly. This will cook the eggs sufficiently. Once done, add the bacon and mix well. Then add the parmesan cheese and parsley, again blending well.

Done! I like eating it with a salad that has some sort of bacon topping. Perhaps homemade bacon bits with bacon ranch dressing.

*snip the awesome*

Greatgooglymoogly, that sounds good. I'm clipping that into the recipe program stat. Thanks for posting it.

I'm not a fan of Bacon Ranch, or most of the 'flavored' ranch dressings. They end up tasting funny to me. That and I only really like the Hidden Valley version of ranch dressing.

This statue has appeared in front of my old office building.

When I saw it, I immediately thought of this thread.

Bacon Lamp Shade

That is such a good idea...I like to read when I wake up in the morning. Half an hour, breakfast too!

There is something very special about the bacon in the canteen where I work. It somehow contrives to be both incredibly brittle and chewy at the same time. At home, I have the best bacon I can find; at work, complete rubbish, but both are equally satisfying.

Bacon ice cream is all the rage.

I'm pretty sure that Hidden Valley makes a Bacon Ranch. Also, if you want to, you can always do homemade ranch with freshly fried minced bacon added.
