Morrowind

Can someone point me to a plug-in that allows you to run faster in Morrowind? Or any plug-ins that made you enjoy the game even more for that matter.

I have just started playing Morrowind, even tho I bought it at launch, and the slow running speed is taking a lot away Morrowind imo. Boots of Blinding Speed is not an option for me right now cuz I have no way of countering its negative effects at the moment.

Help? Please?

As I recall, one of the first mods was one that removed the blindness from the boots. If you can''t find one that lets you run faster, look for that one.

I seem to remember loading up the boats of blinding speed in the editor and doing it myself...
Also i read somewhere that if you get your magic resistance(or whatever its called) up to 100% the boots dont have any effect(no idea what that entails though)

Oh come on, it''s part of the game. If you wanted to run fast, you should have chosen a Khajiit or Wood Elf. That is like choosing an Orc Mage and complaining about your lame spell-casting abilities.
Anyway, you really shouldn''t have to run much in the game. You can usually get to within 5 minutes of your destination by using some mode of fast travel. Only late in the game does the travel get arduous, and by then you should have your stats at a point where it doesn''t matter too much.

Its easy to get those boots on. Just go to a spellmaking person and make a spell 100% resist magicka for 1 sec. Start casting and equip boots. Viola

Eh, I don''t really agree. I''ll grant you it''s probable a play style difference but IMHO really things that are not fun, like painfully slow travel, should not be in the game, becasue... well it''s just not fun. I don''t personally find that not having fun in a game for extended period of time add much to my experience particularly when it''s a solo game to boot. But then some folks like commercials on TV, so I don''t claim my way is right for everyone :). Second hour of play I was in the editor hacking those dam boots

My whole morrowind experience was kinda like that. Long stretches of ''holy crap, this is amazing''. Then I''d end up running into something that, given the overall ''wow'' factor of the game, just stuck in my craw. Result; spend a day hacking around in the editor trying to fix something that just drove me nuts. Oh well.

But my biggest issue wasn''t that- it was how unbalanced the whole game ended up being. After awhile it just wasn''t challenging at all.

Yeah, Gorey, you are right. Once I actually got to Dagoth Ur with my level 42 Redguard I killed him in 5 seconds without getting hurt... Anti-clamaticism in its truest form.
And, as to Griffon''s point, I can see where you are coming from. I have no problem with hacking and cheating, but I usually like to wait until I beat the game fair first, then go back and explore the goodies. I was assuming that Locke was on his first time playing, and didn''t want to set him on the path of hacking right away.

I''ve been taking my sweet time with the game. I like it. As for moving around, I just kept jumping and jumping...it gradually improves to the point where I can hop around like a rabit.

Not good for trying to shoot things, but fun to move around.

I''m really enjoying the fact that I can just go in any direction and see something (almost) new. Haven''t even tried any plugins yet, though I''ll give it a try after I get my own home.

The thing to this game is, I could save so many diffrent possible game choices, it would take up another hard drive. I''m begining a new game with the quest to kill everyone in every town.

I went and hacked the boots =]

Crawling like a snail in the vast world of Morrowind is just too tedious to me, and apparently a lot of other people as well.

Granted you can general get around to major locations pretty fast, the problem is when I want to go into the wilderness in the middle of nowhere. And running around faster doesn''t unbalance the game too much anyways.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Now if you could just hack the boots so that you could put them on NPCs so they could follow you faster and without getting caught between rocks.

Rise 8 yr old thread!

There is a major overhaul mod update that was just released and it looks absolutely amazing. So if you're done with Skyrim and want to go back in time to Morrowind, this is a great way to do it.

Just to nit-pick, it's version 2.0 that was just released, this mod compilation has actually been available for years. /nitpick

I'm excited about this, I never finished Tribunal or Bloodmoon, so I'm more than happy to re-install and update the visuals significantly. I'm hoping Morrowind will go on deep discount on Steam during the sale, and if it doesn't I'll just bust out my discs.

I quite liked Bloodmoon. Tribunal has a lot of dungeon crawling, if that's what you prefer.

Need to finish playing the expansions over the Christmas break.
