War of the Monsters - Best. Monster Game. Ever.

I went to the store to buy Dark Cloud 2, but since they didn't have it and I didn't want to leave empty handed (I haven't bought a PS2 game in weeks!)...

I've spent the past 4 hours with my brother and a friend playing the hell out of War of the Monsters. It's a GREAT game! About 12 monsters, a level for each of them, and lots of things to pick up and throw at your enemy...

The destruction is awesome! I love leveling a building with a couple of punches, and when you throw a monster towards a building and see the building shatter, well, I just had to shed a tear

This is a worthy successor to Rampage. If there's a sequel, they should absolutely make it 4 player. You can have more than 4 monsters on a battle, but you can only control 2.

In any case, highly recommended!

I don''t own a PS2 so I can''t play it, but I''ve seen it in action and it does look like lots of fun. I can''t believe it''s not 4 player already. It just screams ""party game."" If there''s anything that looks like it''s just begging for online support, it''s that game.

WOM is alright, it''s fun for a few hours. That''s about it though, kinda gets boring aftwards.

WOM is a great ""drunk"" game.

I really wish that a 4 player, X-box, live supported version would be released. WOM would be awesome if there were ladder matches and downloadable monsters/levels.

I''m with you, Mex. Played the hell out of it when I got it....unlocking all the costumes was fun, and I dug the way they threw in a special ''revamp'' model/costume for each monster. Only gaffs were the limited adventure mode (same thing for all 12 characters=bleh) and the lack of 4 player. Oh well, sequel?

Did you know there''s special ''environmental disaster attacks'' on some of the maps? Some are really obvious, like throwing anything at the UFO on Tsunopolis=Tidal Wave. There''s also a triggerable earthquake on the San Francisco-type city map.

I''m pretty biased about these kinds of games, though. For instance, I''ve allready got the Xbox port of this preordered....

Been looking at that. Seems a good rental at first, though.

Though, if it did come out for X-box live, I think I''d be all over it.

and what about I was an atomic mutant?

I was an Atomic Mutant is a great budget title. At $20, if you like the old campy B horror movies, it can''t be beat. You can even play in Black and White mode. The whole game screams class and the producer hangs out in the GG forums and even does tech support via email.

Definitely pick this one up, if just to help support small devs who make cool innovative games.
