Romancing the Pile

Pages

Seriously, it's a short month and there's that wonderful, romantic holiday right in the middle. Let's give some of the older games in our lives some lovin' if you know what I mean. I feel somewhat obligated to post a picture of "I Choo Choo Choose You" or something, but I think I can resist the urge.
Let's go ahead and get to the games!

This Month's Pick of the Pile is:

[size=30][b]Mass Effect

Let's go with Bully: Scholarship Edition.

Hemi, please carry forward my prior months' pile game: Jeanne d'Arc. I'm so tantalizingly close to completing it...

Screw it, I want something brainless. Also, I actually own a PS2 now.

God of War

Thanks!

Fallout 3 (PC) for me. I'm trying to finally finish it up so I can move on to Mount and Blade (PC), which I bought during the recent Steam sale and still haven't even loaded yet.

You're early!
STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl (PC)
Pathologic (PC)
I would put Far Cry 2 on the list but I bought it on ebay and never received it. Yay for dispute resolution!
So yeah, just those 2 for now.

OK..im in the mood for some old fashioned adventurin' , so I'm declaring this Adventure Game February (for me anyway ). Got tons of the buggers and can't ever seem to finish any of them.

So...lets start with:

Broken Sword : The Angel of Death
Latest shenanigans of everyones favorite George, with nary a quick time event in sight.

and...

Sherlock Holmes : The Awakened
technically I just picked this up but it's been out for AGES and I've been meaning to grab it for a while...plus it was dirt cheap. I'm a sucker for anything Cthulhu Mythos related, even slightly crude adventure games with terrible voice acting.

For added shame, I'll try to keep track of the number of times I use a walkthrough/guide when I get stuck Which right now is Broken Sword (2) and Sherlock (1).

There's plenty more where those two came from though, so if I get through them quick enough I'll add more to the list.

For me, Dead Space and Beyond Good and Evil will carry over.

I think I'm close to halfway in DS, and I'm juggling it with M&B. I should manage to finish it and get a way through BG&E by the end of the month.

I'm doing Resident Evil 1 on the PC.

Put me down for Mass Effect (360), NFS: Most Wanted (360) and finally, hopefully even, Final Fantasy X (PS2). I'm also going to rent Mirror's Edge (360) this month, so let's add that as well. 2 main games, 1 I really need to wrap up, and 1 I've been wanting to play for quite some time, respectively.

Put me in for Fallout 2. I've installed it, but haven't had a chance to play it - distracted by the M&B demo for a while, and then just busy.

I'm trying to move through my collection of PS2 games I never got around to, so sign me up for God of War as well as Sly 3.

Need me some RPG lovin' this month, so let's go with the Witcher. Maybe I can make past Chapter 2 this time.

In February, I think I'll go for Dead Space, Call of Duty 3 (campaign) and Call of Duty 4(all i have left is Mile High on Vet). All on the 360.

Love the title for this month's thread.

I'm back on for the Witcher, in Chapter 5 now though

Fallout 3 (360) for me please!

I'm going to play The Witcher (PC) this month so i can jump on the bandwagon of a certain reviewer whose name rhymes with Celesium.

I'll go with Duoae here. I'm just barely finished with chapter 1, so I'll take my swing at a little Witcher adventurin' this month and see how many of those naughty playin' cards I can collect. The teenager in me was forced to look for the European 'patch' so I can view the game in all it's glory.

Cheers!
Nyxs

@Hemidal

FF X, not FF XII

I will give Sins of Solar Empire a serious shot.

Good luck on finishing that one.

MGS4!

I am going for some Mass Effect (360) and Prince of Persia (360).

Okay, last name I signed up for a bunch of stuff and did ... nothing but play Left 4 Dead. I'm really really sorry about that, I swear, and I would humbly ask to sign up for one title I was a good way into before giving up: Assassin's Creed. Please? I'll be good this time, I promise.

Oops, my bad. Fixed.

Since there really isn't a campaign, I'm going to have to give the thumbs down on Sins. You're obviously welcome to play, but I don't think there's any way to "finish" the game, so it's not going to get listed.

I was a failboat last month, but put me down for Fallout 3. It's hard to get excited about an RPG when you can't level up any more... but I'm so close!

I guess put me back down for Twilight Princess. I wasn't able to finish it last month, so it looks like I have extra baggage for this month. Hopefully I have time to finish it and get a good start on another game. But until that happens, I'll stick with the one game.

Can you transfer BG&E from January for me, Hemi? Thanks! Only one level to go...

You people with four or five games are inhuman, especially when one or more of those games is Final Fantasy or Fallout, and especially when this is February. It's not even a leap-year.

Could someone explain all this to a relative newbie to the site please?

Is it just like, you pick an older game to play and get laughed at if you don't?

Actually, for FFX, I should only be this far | | from the end, or so I hope. I actually meant to try and get to it in January, but I'm feeling zero draw to wrap it up. And that's actually thinking I am nearing the end, when, well, I'm not sure I am.

Mirror's Edge, well, I plan on renting that and nuking it on a weekend.

Mass Effect is likely to be a "play every couple nights and some on the weekend", actually was trying to hold off on this until I beat FFX, but alas, my willpower failed me.

And NFS Most Wanted? I doubt I'll beat it this month, but I'm playing it, and I sure want credit for it if I complete it
