Games This Week

So what games are you guys picking up this week? I haven't quite decided if I'll pick up DOA Volleyball yet, is I did it would be purely out of curiosity if nothing else. That's what EB returns are for after all!

Anyone plan on snatching up The Getaway?

I plan on renting Panzer Dragoon Orta and that volleyball game...

I plan on renting Panzer Dragoon Orta and maybe trying out the DOA volleyball. I''ve heard, from a tester friend of mine, that the game controls takes getting used to, but are excellent once learned.

Personally, I''m mostly waiting for next month. Unreal 2 for the pc, Zelda for GCN, and with any luck (though I doubt it) KOTOR for Xbox!

I''m also waiting for next month. The add on for 1942 and Unreal 2.

And maybe I''ll still be alive when Duke Nukem comes out.

I will be playing Panzer assuming I get my XBox back from the MS repair center some time soon.

Stupid Thompson DVD drives...

I actually picked up AC2 the other day (some friends on Morningthaw talked me into it). You would thinking with all this treadmill time I would loose some weight :). I might pick up panzer dragon but I''m on the fence, same with DOA boob game. I''m not sure what my wife will say if I fire that one up... but I''m pretty sure it will be dripping with sarcasm.

I might grab Soccer Slam later this week to complete the Sega multiplayer triple (Monkey Ball, Beach Spikers, Soccer Slam) and play some games I have yet to finish/try out such as HW: Cataclysm. Apart from that looking forward to Road to Rome. I''ll also keep an eye on Praetorians. I liked the demo and if the final game lives up to the expectations I''ll get it. IL-2 FB was originally the only thing I always knew I was going to get within the next months, but I''ve decided to wait now since I''ll upgrade my PC sooner or later ''til summer. After that I can play the game on a machine it''s been made for (= max settings etc. etc.)

Nothing new this week I''m picking up. Next week Skies of Arcadia Legends comes out and that''s a sure thing.

Is it really that good? I''ve been debating if I should buy this one or not, and still haven''t made up my mind

I really enjoyed it. It''s a great classic RPG. It''s a must buy for RPG fans.

Well, I guess I have no choice now then. I''ve been leaning towards it anyways!

I''m pretty much on hold until February, when .hack, Star Ocean III, and Breath of Fire V arrive within days of eachother (if all goes according to plan).

I don''t know what''s the big deal about .hack it''s a MMOG that''s offline. There isn''t a MMOG with great gameplay that I''ve played (and I''ve played them all).

BoF4 and Xenosaga are two games I can''t wait to play.

I enjoyed the demo and thought that it would be like a brit version of GTA3. Whilst technically it''s pretty good looking, it just didn''t get me the same way as Vice City did (and still does)

If you wander outside of the main mission areas it is very sparsley populated, that is if you have time to wander about outside as unlike Vice city you rarely have time to look about.

It''s still pretty enjoyable just don''t be expecting Vice City London.[/quote]

If the .hack anime is any indication, the game should be very engaging IMO.

I just ""picked up"" the 5 day trial of Earth And Beyond, which is pretty and fun (for now). Not that I can subscribe even if I want to, since EA''s fabulous marketing strategy involved not releasing it outside the US. Do they deliberately not want to make money?

Simcity 4 all the way baby! Should have it by tommorow. I''ve got plans for the city of Hatsville. Big plans.

That''s all right Simulcra. My experience was that you could do just about everything you could possibly want to do in E&B in just about 5 days. You''re better served to not have that 6th day.

This week I am playing Pikmin, AC, Frequency, and Counter Strike. I will play BF1942 when the 1.3 patch comes out.

Ikaruga!! I wish I could play it. The footage on Gamespot Complete is amazing. Visited Chinatown today in hopes to pick a Japanese copy and arrange a GameCube mod. None of the shops had it, and none of the shops was able to do the region mod in reasonable time.

Ikaruga on the DC is incredible. Keep looking it is worth it.

Have patience, Ikaruga will make it stateside. I can feel it. And if not, the FreeLoader disc is listed to ship on 2/4. Supposedly that will let you play your imports without any hardware mods.

I, as well, hope that US version of Ikaruga will indeed come to an existence. But then again, EBworld.com used to list Team Fortress 2 with a release day of 11/30/1999 back in the day. Plus, it''s way too long before the projected release is made in April (if at all!)

On the other side, the release Freeloader has been posponed many times. Noone is sure at this point (Datel themselves as well, I think) when/if it actually takes place.

I froze my behind off walking around the Chinatown all my lunch break, but They are not going to stop me!!
