WoW: Wrath of the Lich King available at 7-11... right now

Forgive me if it's been mentioned here before (I rarely venture into these forums myself) but I thought y'all should know this. My roommate just managed to snag a copy of Wrath of the Lich King from (as the title states) our local 7-11 convenience store. Apparently they have no real concept of release dates and the boxes have been shipped to them, so if you want to have a bit of hassle now but avoid midnight launches (and get another three hours of gaming in if you're on the west coast) you might want to check that out.

Apparently it installs just fine right now, and you can still play WoW using that client, you just have to wait for midnight Eastern time to activate it.

If you're interested I'd suggest going in the evening, that's generally when the less knowledgeable cashiers are around.

Anyways, have a good one and remember to kiss your family goodbye before activating Wrath.

Yeah, I got my CE version of the game delivered to me last night... I was very tempted to install it, but was afraid that it may not be a good idea to do so.

I ordered from gogamer.com btw.

This just boggles me every time I see it. Since when does 7-11 sell games?

I've been advised by my spouse that I should hold off on purchasing the expansion, as it will make an excellent Christmas gift. Maybe my new mage on Blackhand will have hit 70 by then, or I'll have more than one 70 on my horde server.

Should you be fast approaching 70 prior to Christmas, it may become time to "suggest" that he hand over the WotLK early

Seconded.

Or, just pick it up at launch and ask for a gametime card.

Damn Montgomery, Alabama for not having a single 7-11!

There are no 7-11s in Georgia. This confuses me.

Yeah it's the same with Alabama. It's just yet another reason why the west coast is the best coast.

The numbers confuse them down there.

In the words of Pimp C (RIP), quit hatin' the South.

Do you guys have 6-12 down south? I know I have seen it somewhere ( I forgot where ).

With apologies to Fed's southern pride, I lol'd at this.

Golden Pantry appears to be the Southern equivalent, and I can't imagine video games in one of those.

But, for what it's worth, it's also hard to imagine buying WoW in a 7-11.

Golden Pantrys and Weigels... We have a few in Knoxville, or at least used to, but none where i'm working at

Yes but they have WAFFLE HOUSE!

Friend of mine works at Blizzard, so I sometimes get things a littler earlier

Without the scourge of 7-11s on every corner, the South is a far more beautiful place.

Really, I just wish Wa Wa would finish spreading across the South.

Waffle house is terrible. I would give up every waffle house to have Dennys and 7-11.

I love WaWa more then I'll probably love my own children.

WaWa?

BTW, the Waffle House reference was a joke. I've heard it described as a "gastrointestinal nightmare"! Never eaten there actually

Blasphemy!

There are five Waffle Houses within ten minutes of my home, and at least one Huddle House, which is a knockoff.

They're really not bad places, overall. They serve simple food, but they're inexpensive and clean. It's basically a slightly modernized diner. If you want decent food fairly quickly, anytime day or night, Waffle Houses will do. They're a lot healthier than fast food, and no more expensive.

Before I went in one (reluctantly, the first time), I figured they must be greasy little pits, but they've been immaculate. I generally like to eat more upscale, but WH is always an acceptable option.

Yeah but you have Chic Filet!

Not in Mongomery, Alabama.

And I'd give that up in a heart beat for Jack in the Box.

Will somebody please f*cking tell me what "WaWa" is?

Come to Chicago, No Chic Filet, No jack in the box. All we got is white castle and real wendys

White Castle is the greatest food on earth!

WaWa is a convenience store. When I lived in Jersey I had at least 5 WaWa's within a 5 mile radius. WaWa is truely awesome.

Bear get with it man. How could you not know what a WaWa is? Next you'll tell me you haven't even heard of a Piggy Wiggly?

Wawa is a chain of convenience store/gas stations located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. It is often associated with the Philadelphia area and the Delaware Valley, but the stores are also common throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia.

While in St. Louis, I drove a few miles out of my way to eat at an actual White Castle. It was decent. But it pales in comparison to Carl's Jr., Jack in the Box... or the gold standard... In N Out...

Oh and don't forget Cracker Barrel.

That is all..

Think convenience store, but with good food.

I dig getting breakfast at WaWa. I'd rather go there for breakfast than Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts/Fast Food.
