I know, I was trying to log in go get a new skill going. Eventually gave up and went to bed, but my training schedule is behind by about 10 hours.

First lesson of EVE patches: They're always longer than planned, even if only by a couple hours. The Trinity 'Boost' patch ran over by two days, both of which I lost.

Since then I've lost probably another 5 or 6 days of going to bed forgetting that I had a short skill running and hadn't started the longer one yet. It sucks, but it's not the end of the world either. Live and learn.

Yeah, this game is full of lessons, it's a lot like life.

But a patch going over by 2 days. That's hectic.

Since I started back up, I have been using xnote stopwatch to set countdown timers. EVEMon is a great program, but for some reason I can't get it to load my data. It worked fine a year ago. Strange.

It does seem a little erratic.

Is anyone else having trouble getting their API key? I get an infinite loop when I try log into myeve.eveonline.com, and I've tried 3 separate browsers.

EVE-API keys are always a little bit screwy after a big patch. At least from my experience from the last 3 or so big patches.

With Monty back... is it time to do at least a GWJ production corp again? T2 production is now accessible and profitable as opposed to our last (failed) attempt to do production. Also, I'm still recruiting for my hi-sec suicide robberies.

Also, we give welcome baskets to new players in the GWJ channel so for anyone else who hasn't joined the channel, hop in and we'll eventually show up there when we log in ourselves.

Did anyone see that Zero Punctuation visited its general hatred of all games to EVE this time? Its not very positive of course, but not really unfair either.

I think its unrealistic to think he'll enjoy a game that isnt fairly simple and artistic. Has he liked anything other than Braid (sort of) and Portal? (a lot)

He really, really liked Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

I find his taste corresponds very closely to mine in terms of actual games, but I get tired of the constant nerd-bashing.

I won't do hi-sec robberies, but I trained all those production skills up before I took my break, so it would be a shame to see them go to waste. Shouldn't take more than a week or two to get them up to T2 levels. The only problem is materials. I'm no longer in the position to mine that much. Let's talk in-game as well.

I did wonder, once this thread got some action, how long it would take fstarta to attempt to suck people into his nefarious web of suicide ganking....I'd be checking the patch notes if I were you, fellas.

I'm just moving back to one of my old corps (Astroworks) because they are well into t2 manufacture and inventing, with POS's in hi and low sec to get the simple and complex reactions. I would have considered joining the GWJ corp, apart from the fact that only DeVil and I would be outside US timezones.

I'd like to emphasize this for anyone lurking around this thread. The gift baskets do make getting a decent ship setup and yourself skilled up way easier.

Makes me very glad to be a Goodjer.

I just signed up for the 14 day trial. Honesly it was just done since I can't play WAR yet but don't hate me for that. I'm totally overwhelmed at the moment but this thread has been very useful.

Time to resurrect this thread and send it shambling through the streets again - where the heck are the rest of the GWJ pilots ? I've had to start drinking all of the beer in the fridge (just so that it doesn't go off, you understand).

As our house is on a "one MMO subscription per month" plan, I had to cancel EVE for now. It pains me to not be skilling up, but I just wasn't playing it.

I've been playing Eve for the past few months. First MMO I've really gotten into. Been loving every minute of it.

I'm also a 1 sub a month person unfortunately. I know a bunch of people in WAR so I've been playing that. Join us that side on Karrak-Hirn, Davet.

My sub lapsed on the 22nd, and I haven't reupped. I love EVE, but I'm a bit burned out on it.

I'm actually in WAR, just not on that server. Let me know what your char name is, and I might look you up

Zularon, a Disciple of Khaine. I'm in a pretty friendly guild too so let me know if you want an invite.

Well, I'm trying to train R&D skills, but the training time is super long. I'm out of the game while that happens, especially since there are several single-player experiences I'm enjoying/looking forward to. EVE remains my only MMO and I'm still looking forward to where they're taking it this holiday season, but I'm mostly staying out of my pod these days.

That's no excuse Monty, I'm 3 days into the 21 day training period for Caldari Encryption V, but that doesn't stop me conducting my daily culls of evil bandits

I've been rebuilding my gaming box for the past month. Also, a bit burned out playin with fleets for a bit. But since our side lost 2 titans in a one week timespan, I guess it's time to get back into active duty...

For those that are interested, the next free expansion has been dated for a November 11th release. Its supposed to be focusing on industry and various convenience tweaks.

And includes the long-publicised mini-Rorqual class ship, the Orca.

From what I've read, it's shaping up to be more along the lines of a Mining Command Ship(T1.5, if you will) than a Rorqual in minutiae.

Maybe - it's certainly tied in with the economic expansion, and does require two lots of mining command skills. Nice big ship bay though, so useful when they once again have failed to add any sort of mini-freighter

I don't know that we'll ever see a step between Industrial ships and Freighters. From what I've been reading(I still follow EVE despite not playing) it seems more likely that Industrial ships will get buffed first. I see that as nothing but good.

As for the Orca, I definitely like the idea of the ship bay. Basically, it allows someone who's mining alone for any length of time to swap into a ship to clear up belt rats and the like in a combat ship, or grab an interceptor to speed its voyage through space if you're a dual boxer.

Only problem I can see is that the ships would have to be unrigged in order for you to box them up and carry them in the hold - so there goes me carrying my Rattlesnake around. Still, a good ship for carting all yer crap from one base to another.

Quoted prices are currently 800m, though I can see that dropping. Takes a lot of capital components though - my corp has had me with my nose to the grindstone, churning out capital cargo bays 40 at a time.

Some of the larger ships, definitely. Anything up to a cruiser frame could easily go in the ship maint hangar from what I can tell though.

Well, if this week's expansion is the economics one, the one planned for next March is a huge expansion in all directions - tier 3 gear, wormholes to unexplored areas, massive story arcs and all sorts of cool-sounding gear..

Yea, that one is the Ambulation expansion. Or Walking in Stations, whichever you prefer.

Actually the current report is that Ambulation is a good ways off, certainly after the March expansion. It should have more than enough though with the stuff davet010 already mentioned. The T3 ships are going to be customizable with hundreds or thousands of different combinations which should be really exciting.

To be honest, Quantum Rise seems a bit lackluster to me. The thing I'm looking forward to the most is the new weapon grouping feature, which will let you fire/reload/change ammo for all of your guns at once if you wish. The speed nerf also seems like a good dose of common sense and might even end up making Assault Frigates useful for once. I've always had such a soft spot for them.
