Woot! Every Tuesday I pull the iPod out of my car and sync up the new podcasts for the week just so I can listen to you guys on my Wednesday commute. I'm looking forward to the talk!

This panel was great fun in real life. It was fun to see your physical interactions that go along with the audio. It was nice to meet the rest of you (Certis & Elysium) and say hi to the others. Great show!

Congrats you had what one-half to two-thirds of a 1000+ person theater filled? Not bad! (Don't get too cocky, most were probably there for Ken ;), but still, good work!)

p.s. FYI the Android app link is broke.

This was an awesome thing to see in person -- thanks for doing it, guys.

Was Ken tired, or just upset at being on the Old Man Side of the table? He looked so unhappy the entire time!

I think he's just busy thinking deep thoughts. Or about Logan's Run.

Thanks again for hosting this panel. Was a great time and I hope you guys come back again next year

Or Cory's dancing

Which we didn't get to see. Probably the only disappointing thing about the whole panel.

Thanks to MonoCheli for letting me fly the Flag of Goodjerdom.

And a pat on the back to either Jonathan Downin for the editing or Pyroman for the producing. For those of you that weren't there, Ken was leaning way back in his chair for the about the last third of the discussion and it was hard to hear him in the room. On the podcast his levels are nearly identical to everyone else's. Good job.

Amazing Postcast this week. Loved every second of it and had be grinning like a fool on the bus to work. Thanks so much for posting the PAX panel!

Maybe next time I can attend PAX.

It was fun in person and I listened to the whole thing again.

Oh man, you opened with Podunk Stomp? Great choice.

Yeah they needed to crank it up though; it was hard to hear in person.

I think mostly Ken was exhausted. Mad thanks to him for coming out. I believe he only came in on Friday just for the show, then went home and crashed.

Something about making some game or other.

Excuses, excuses

Ah, good choice on the AI front as something you want to see in gaming before Ken dies, Certis. That along with things destroying in a realistic way (not fracturing into predetermined chunks) is high on my list.

Random thought: Listening to the panel reminded me of when I dreamed of the day that computer game graphics would be as good as the rendered intro to Mechwarrior 2. I remember thinking that day would be gaming nirvana.

I was just coming in here to post this. Love the choice of song.

Loved the show. The guests were great, and each of you came up with something that had me laughing aloud.

The question for today is - now that you know you can fill a 1000 seat auditorium, is a Goodjercon on the way??

It I too noticed that Ken was shattered. It would appear the crunch cycle has yet to be eradicated from the video game industry

That aside, it was great to watch and listen to the show as it was being recorded amongst so many other listeners.

It is (unofficially). And it's going to be held in a f*cking castle!

Nothing like that is planned, Man of Meat. Chickens before hatching and all.

What a great podcast, and a reminder that at some point, I need to go to one of these and start meeting up with my fellow Goodjers.

As an aside, I feel as though a huge shift in gaming came back when Halo came out. That marked to me the beginning of where the people who used to make fun of us in High School and earlier (the dudebros and the jocks) started playing video games. Was this bothersome to anyone else, or was it a constructive expansion of the hobby?

This sounded like a blast, and I am sorry I missed it.

My first home console was this:

My dad won it as part of a sales contest.

I was being optimistic, for a change.

Seriously though, if you read through that whole thread, you'll see that Teneman wants to hold a large GWJ gathering there, so what I said isn't that much of a stretch. Note that I said "unofficially."

Great panel, and the reminisces brought back some memories. I trace my own electric gaming to the Atari 2600 and Oregon Trail on my school's Commodore Pets.

As a kid, I remember liking ET on the Atari, but getting him out of a pit was a pain in the ass. It was at least more understandable than the Indiana Jones game.

Ah, the old "unofficially" defense. ACQUITTED!

Does anyone have a video from this panel or maybe some pictures?

Ah, the beginnings.

I started with an Atari 2600 and Video Pinball. Berserk is still my idea of the perfect game.

I owned E.T. And beat it. Several times.

Attack! Is my first game, but I only really, really got into it with Super Mario Brothers on the Famicom.

It was a great panel. A lot of fun to see you guys in person, and while I didn't get to the S&T, there is always next year. Remembering the old C64 game magazines that required you to complete some BASIC program in order to finish a story was a hoot; while I ended up going a different path, my early love for programming and eventual interest in "real languages" came directly out of those days.

I had the Timex Sinclair 1000. I would spend an hour typing in a program from a paperback book to then play what you'd have to stretch to describe as "games." Fun stuff.

Just a hat-tip to the PAX enforcers working the audio equipment, all I did was make sure the laptop didn't catch on fire. They ran the mixers/levels and they did an excellent job.

Left to right: Shawn Andrich, Cory Banks, Sean Sands, Julian Murdoch, Ken Levine, Jeff Green

And a quick shot I snapped of the crowd from the stage. Didn't get everyone in there, they seat people in a pretty wide area.
