Holy crap, it's Flux! :drink:
You said what I was thinking.
Hello, yes, I am still alive.
OH, NO! It just occurred to me that the CD drive on my good computer's all messed up. I don't suppose anyone thinks there's a Steam release down the road, is there? I might have to get it on the Xbox after all...

All these old-time Goodjers coming back makes me feel left out.
Wow it's the Flux!!! Too many good games - I actually had to buy two copies of this one - 1 on the PC for me and one on the 360 for my son. Let the good times roll - crowd pleasers for everyone.
Dude, spend a 20 on a new drive, you'll need it eventually anyways.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm an old-timer and never left.
I'm not an old-timer, but I'm getting it anyway.
360 version since my only computer is a Macbook Pro.
Hold the line!

oh oh oh?
I'll be playing it on the PC
Definitely a PC purchase, although I may hold out for a deal since I am already overwhelmed with gaming options (and real life).
Saw it yesterday on the PS3 (a guy at work runs a game review site and had an early copy).
Meh.
As a note: I didn't play, just watched. It just didn't feel right - as a Fallout game. The whole "stats-based, pseudo-realtime not-quite-FPS-even-though-it-looks-like-one" seemed a little off, and (though it might just have been the saves that the guy was loading) there seemed to be a lot of combat and ... not much else.
I'll probably pick it up bargain bin in a couple of years for the PC, if I ever have enough time to play it.

I'm approaching it differently, and I don't really expect it to be a direct successor, of even a spiritual successor. Just a potentially kickass game. I loves me some Fallout, but I also loves me some Oblivion. So if what I get is Oblivion in the Fallout universe... I'm okay with that. If you love something man, set it free. Just let that baby go.
And I can't remember if I chimed in already, but 360. Integrated Intel graphics on a 2 year old laptop=no 3d for me.

Does steam get you a bobble head and a lunch box? I think not.
I just read the manual for it, and it seems there's only one option for character model? That's kind of too bad.
Next week really, truly cannot come fast enough.
Fallout 3 manual is available on Steam for download. Console controls are in it as well as PC:
For those of you in the DC area, the development team will be at the Rockville Best Buy for a midnight launch on Oct 27th. The airstream trailer from PAX will also be on hand.

I'm not obsessing over it being Fallout/!Fallout (although I think it's fair to expect at least a spiritual successor if the name is being used); it just felt odd. Maybe the stats-based "FPS" combat won't feel strange to play - Hellgate London does similar things, unless I misremember, and the combat in that game can be hella fun. Maybe there's a bunch of stuff that didn't even get hinted at while I was watching him play. Fact is, I ended up with a mediocre run-n-gun impression, and a wish that VATS didn't David Caruso every single shot.
VATS has Roger Daltrey?

I'd prefer one character model that looks good, to a system that's infinitely customizable but with 0 potential for a good looking character. That's right I'm looking at you Oblivion.

Sure, but at least a male and female model? As a famous man once said, if I'm going to be staring at a pixelated butt for 100 hours, it should at least be one that's attractive!

True and True. I even pre-ordered at BestBuy to get the Nuka Cola Bottle opener to go in my lunchbox.
Now on STEAM

QFT, Ulari, QFT. I am waaay more excited about the lunchbox and bobblehead than a man about to turn 37 has any right to be. Its worth having to put the disc in the drive and the extra cash.
I started to want the PC version today but mine can't even handle Oblivion. Maybe by the time the good mods are out I can afford better hardware.

I can't afford bobble heads and lunch boxes, to many games to buy.
