Fable 2 catch all

Gamefly shipped my copy early this morning. Should be here by the time I get home tomorrow. Perfect!

That gamasutra article compares the reactions of your wife and your dog when you return from some 10 year quest.

Wife: Hi honey, have a potion
Dog: Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy! I love you! I miss you! Lets go do stuff!

I don't think Lionhead was intentionally making social commentary there, but they totally did.

OK, DHL doesn't have a record of the shipment, doesn't going on, and one of their operators doesn't even know what the heck NewEgg is. I'm contacting NewEgg again to get to the bottom of this.

Y'know, last week was kinda sh*t for me (see the Tech Support section) and this week's not starting out so hot either. Can't a guy get a break?

EDIT: On a whim, I plugged the NewEgg tracking code into the USPS tracker. It said the package (my package?) arrived in my hometown at 6 AM today (presumably at the post office here since I don't get mail at my box that early).

Maybe that's my break? Maybe not. I'll post when I get home this evening.

My call came from GameStop last night... They're doing a midnight release for this. I'm ok with that.

Hooray!

How close? Do you have to hold hands, or is do fights play out pretty reasonably? Also, do they exist in the game world all the time, or just during combat?

Within the view of the camera.
Battles seem to be confined to a general area so we didn't have much issue with that.
Your henchman is always in the game, so when your traveling you have to travel together. If you go down one path and they see something interesting "over there" you both just kind of run into an invisible wall.

That's sounds pretty workable. How long a game is this? 30-40 hours? I think I'm sold.

Wow, that Eurogamer review has drastically increased my anticipation. A 10 from EG means something damn it :). Even better, my release-day delivery from amazon has officially shipped!

Yeah...GameFly shipped it, and it'll be there before I get home late Wednesday night!!

They are releasing it at midnight here, but since I'm old and I pre-ordered it I am just going to wait until tomorrow.

wow! reading the EuroGamer review... I wish I had a 360 now... I enjoyed the first one and it sounds like they've fixed and enhanced all the things that annoyed me...

I got it from work tonight, gotta go play!

I skimmed... Did anyone mention orgies as a new feature? Rat Boy and Stone must be screaming for some Co-Op play.

Played it for three hours and I like it. It feels like how peter promised the first fable would be. It retains the good, and improves upon the limited.

Also, the game allowed me to give Lancejt rancid beef jerky. So points for that.

Now there are appears to be news that some of the LE (CE) are missing their DLC cards. This game is cursed. After deciding to hold onto the dream that is Fable 2, instead of cancelling, I'm sure my box will be lacking. Some sort of gamer overindulgence karma kickin me in the nuts.

So far, it has only been reported with some Gamestop copies. If you run into this issue of the missing LE DLC, then the resolution is to call 18004MYXBOX apparently. Caught the story on joystiq.

PM says the story can be beaten in about 12 hours, but if you branch out and do some of the other quests it can be 30 - 50 hours.

Well. My character is already sporting my LE DLC gear. She looks a lot like this... But female.

Oh and thanks for the rancid beef jerky.

Medieval Halo?

Going to try to get this tonight - can't wait! Hopefully I'll have some impressions of offline co-op.

No problem!

I was mostly just seeing how i could interacted withother characters even with the MP missing.

I just picked up a copy. Will be playing sometime after three or four more anxious hours of work and a post-work run.

I have a small friends list on Live so if anyone who's playing wants another little orb (or however other people appear) to interact with in their world, friend me up. I'd like to see how that all works.

Haven't ordered it yet, as Fallout will take up all of my time in the immediate future anyway. I think I oughta hop back into Fable I and see what I think - I bought it on Xbox Originals but only played a few hours in.

I picked it up at lunch. All of the stores in my area were sold out of the LE pack If anyone wants to sell their Unused DLC card let me know. Since that's all that came with the LE pack of any use I'll pay close to 10 for it.

I'll be up for any co-op play.

Hopefully my copy should be coming in from amazon shortly -crosses fingers-. I'm with CatCarcass, if anyone wants more "floating orbs" please friend me up as well, i'm not sure how many people on my current list are going to grab fable 2 and I'm really excited about this passive mmo quality to the game.

edit: it came, it came! ahem.... back to photoshop.

I'm going to the store in one hour and at this point, I need to know if I'll get the Huge Nerd Edition or not.

Is the extra dungeon DLC worth it?

Hurry up guys! I need to know!

NOW!

Agghhh!! Who are you?? Different Name!!

Can anyone comment on the ghost people? Or is that not out until the online patch?

Floating orbs with your gamer picture are crazy. Keep your eyes our for libertylobster (or he will keep an eye out for you).

The co-op does not seem to allow you to port your own character into a friends world, just use the pre-made types. That is a little dissapointing. thought it would be cool to move your avatar to friends worlds.

Aside from that it seems to work pretty good. You share 1 camera that it seems nobody gets to control. aiming is a little tuff vs. the single player. All in all I had a good time in the hour I spent chasing lobster around and upseting the towns people who love him so.

I think this one will be a good romp for a while to come

Really? That doesn't make much sense at all. Can anyone confirm this?

If by "a little disappointing" you really mean "f*cking sucks all of earth's mammals sh*t" then I agree.

Please pardon my french.

It's mentioned in the IGN video review. This is apparently also the case for 2 player local coop, which is superfluous.
