All Pro Football 2k8 - Official Season 4 Draft Thread

Hey ,I understand injuries stink but wasn't it Grumpcius who lost his Quarterback in season 1 and made the playoffs. Either way I don't care, I just hope for more then 8 game season.

No, that was DS. The difference is that we play this game for the fun of using these players were pick. DS turned off injuries after he lost his QB, because it affected the fun of the game for him. It may be an interesting challenge, but I think most of us felt that for the same reasons this game doesn't lend itself to franchise play, injuries kind of screw with it as well.

Yeah, there's no way to trade for a player that might then help you out. No real backups...which I suppose could be said for a lot of NFL teams, too, looking at how Sage Rosenfels turned out last weekend.

Tom Brady and Kurt Warner worked out for the Pats and Rams when they stepped in for injured starters. I just think this game is different. If you lose Dan Marino or Earl Campbell your backup isn't even a bronze player. I made the playoffs, sure. It was a fun, interesting challenge. But I can see the league breaking down halfway through the season if other people suffer similar injuries. As always, though, I'm happy to facilitate. I'll only become a dictator when we face decision paralysis.

Ok, I set up a little four man tourney. It is on Legend difficulty, with 10 minute quarters. It is set up for just four players, so it's going to be 2 games at the most. This can be a fun side project to the main league for those of us that are on more often. If there is enough interest, we can do an eight man tourney as well.

If you are interested, the first three to sign up are in. The name is GWJ Legends Tour. Obviously just search for GWJ, and it should pop up. the password is "stan".

I think it would be fun to see if there is any real difference in using Legend difficulty over All-Pro. My hope would be for less offense, particularly in the last two minutes of each half. It may not work that way at all.

BTW, anyone up for moving the quarters for the league from six minutes to eight?

We'll never get started at this rate.

Why? Just crank it up. It's not like it is going to suck either way. If the legend tourney seems fun, we can consider it for next season. Go with six minutes, quarters, injuries off, and we deal with late hits as we go. This is our fourth season, and nothing has sucked about it so far.

I like the 6 minutes just want more games.

Signup has begun. The league is created.

I think for season 5 draft, we should make a rule. Only draft on weekends so Bagger can wait all week for us.:D

Better yet: we get to pick for Bagga. I see a team of 2 kickers, a punter, and 8 offensive linemen. Gotta' have backups...

If only I checked this forum more often, I'd totally have been able to defend myself.

Jayhawker, I would love to do your tournament, but have to pass I will be away all weekend.
