College Football 2008 Season Catch-All

*ahem* GO BEAVS!!!

Now that is the team I was expecting this year. The thing with the Beavers is that we can beat any team at home, playing away is another story.

So, let me get this straight. Beaver's running back who gets 186 yards against SC is only 5'6". The sideline reporter was 2 inches taller than him. He looked small compared to HER.

Ugh.

Ugh.

You need to check your priorities if you were looking at him more than Erin Andrews.

Wooooooo Hooooooo!

Go Beavs!!!!!

lil aside: Riley is a Heck of a Coach

Question, considering their strength of schedule and the relative weakness of the Pac-10, can USC even make it to the title game if the BIG-12 winner and SEC winner only have 1 loss a piece?

Ho-ly sh*t. Twenty-five point underdog and unranked Oregon State knocks off SUC...er...USC. Looks like the Trojans got rejected by these Beavers.

Wow, ORG State has knocked off USC the last 3 years. Count em, 3!

It was Stanford last year that knocked them off.

Deadspin has a nice round-up of the hilarity from last night, from an interestingly worded ESPN.com headline to a sign that really sums things up.

Hello, friends. I've stopped by to once again wonder why we aren't talking about the FREAKING GATORS?

I think you are about to get your wish! Ouch!

Somebody please shoot me. I do go to law school at Michigan, that has to count for something today, right? Freakin Gators.

If I may now, for those who surely will say it soon...

ROLL TIDE!

Meanwhile, i'm preparing myself for a season in which my team will only win one game (at this rate) and that was against Northeastern. Guh.

Maybe Dawgs will get a rematch in Atlanta.

New rankings out. Things could have been much worse for the Trojans who benefit from a series of additional upsets over the weekend. Now they just need to learn how to tackle a 5'6" running back.

They still have a shot to sneak back into national title contention if they run the table with the rest of their schedule (not a given) and if the other major conferences go through the same bloodbath they did last year (also not a given).

Number 1 baby!

I'm as biased as they come when in regards to Mizzou football. Of course, since i live in St. Louis, I get a healthy does of their news, as well. And it is probably quite a bit less biased than you get in KC, where the rivalry takes over every conversation.

That said, does Nebraska look like a trap game for Mizzou here? the Tigers are going to score points, but their defense is pretty awful ,and hasn't been tested since they gave up 42 to Illinois. Nebraska 35-30 last week to a good Viginia Tech team. Can they outscore the Tigers in Lincoln? Those 30 points was their worst out put so far this season.

USF loses to Pitt. Way to open the Big East guys.

Bad tackling the culprit in this game.

The first half of Kansas at Iowa St. was thoroughly depressing. I don't think they had 50 yards of offense, and had a grand total of zero rushing yards. Going into the half, they were down 20-0 to a team they were not supposed to have problems with. Ugh!

Apparently Mangino said something meaningful, as they score 21 third quarter points to take the lead, eventually extending it to 28-20. The Jayhawks then held on to win 35-33, and had more than 400 yards of offense. Two completely different teams.

This is really going to be an interesting conference season. They might play well enough to be Oklahoma and Texas, or poor enough to get blasted out of the stadium.

Edit: Kansas had 93 yards of offense in the first half to Iowa St's 181. The Jayhawks finished with 436.

FSU BARELY holds off Miami.

Okay guys, I am in a huge conundrum here.
I have an OU/TX ticket. Bought it for 100, its on the 50 a couple of rows up.
People are paying 800 (I know wtf) for same section seats.
I kind of want to go to the game, but I will have played a rugby match the day before and could get a graphics card and weekend of boozing in instead.
Helps me.

That's no conundrum. Sell the tickets. OU is going to lose anyway.

See now you got me pissed. OU will win, I mean come on. But yeah, I'm probably going to sell it anyways.

I always figured you had a mancrush on McConaughey.

Just because douchebags support your school, doesn't mean Sammy B. won't hook up with Iglesias and Clapp all day.

I really hate to quote this now, in your time of pain. But....

Well, next week should be fun.

USC's probably giggling like crazy. The Big-12 and the SEC will start killing each other one by one and the Trojans will work their way back into title contention.
