Crazy weird dreams that you've dreamt!

They say you remember your dreams when your going through stress. I often remember my dreams and I am pretty laid back so i disregard that. But anyway the strangest dream I've ever had was one where I am siting in my room and suddenly the sky goes so dark. I look out the windows and there are Russian helicopters everywhere blowing up everything in the neighborhood, at which point the Kool-Aid man parachutes into my backyard and I wake up?...thats the strangest...

OH YEAH!

I have this dream where I see myself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at me. I don't know why I'm the only one that has this dream!

A few nights ago I dreamed that I woke up because my water broke (we're at 36 weeks pregnant tomorrow), I reached down and there was a baby! I picked him up, and he smiled at me so sweetly. Meanwhile, Elysium was leaping around in a panic saying, "What do we do? What do we do?" I told him to go call 911, and when he protested that he couldn't leave me alone, I just cuddled my new sweet, smiling baby and said, "I'm just fine!"

It was a really lovely dream, overall, although really hard to shake off, since it all took place in the bed, at night, in otherwise perfectly normal surroundings (no tropical fish swimming through the air or anything else peculiar in the background). Hard to get rid of the feeling that it really happened when the setting is the same!

Only 3 weeks and 1 day until we are scheduled to meet Elysium 3.0. I'll try to remember at that point that newborns don't really smile.

A side note: if birth were really as easy as it was in that dream, the population would explode.

Heh cute.

I once had a dream about getting out of bed and going to work, then waking up and realizing I had to do all of it all over again. Me and Calvin.

Well, there was this one where I really wanted to get a drink of water, but I couldn't because there was volcanic lava on my bedroom floor and my slippers were too far away.

I have that dream every few months. No idea why.

I hate that dream. But not as much as when I dream that I get to sleep in because it's Saturday, and then wake up to realize that it's not.

Better than the dream that you're about to go to the bathroom and wake up to realize you're still in bed =/ haha

I just remembered something weird that happened on my last birthday. It wasn't a dream per se but it did involve sleep.

Basically I was staring at the ceiling above my bed and blinked my eyes. When my eyes opened it was morning. Snap! Just like that, instant sleep.

Hmm let me dig through the archives of what I can remember...

I once had a dream where I was inside this big cube. It felt like it was full of water, except that it was empty and I could breathe "oxygen". Along with me there were people floating and I guess playing all over the place. There was no gravity and I could swim in any direction.

Another time I was running around my high school, except the floor plan was all different. There were hydralisks with crab claws instead of talons chasing everyone around. Later on these guys in blue coats showed up and started killing them with pistols. I sh*t you not.

The US had been destroyed by a nuclear attack and I was going to to Florida in an open air AT-ST.

Nah it's too easy

I had a dream last night...

It was like X-factor crossed with Blind Date but in the back of a limousine (which was tall enough to stand up in). There was a couch at the back of the car with a coffee table in front - separating that area from the 'audition' area. The point of the show was to go round and pick up random people and give them a choice on who they liked best: people who owned a PS3 or people who owned a 360.

The first two contestants were women and while they sat at the back a naked guy appeared in the audition area. He was pretty ugly and sweaty and a little fat. Neither woman liked *him. Next the 360 owner appeared naked and wasn't really much better but the women chose him instead of the other guy.
The next contestant was a guy and again the process repeated itself except with naked women auditioning. This time though, when asked which one he preferred he said that he liked the PS3 woman more because she fitted the 'brand' better. The PS3 woman was really happy to hear this and was saying stuff like, "Oh thank you!".

Dream ended.

*The guys were different for each woman i'm just lumping them together since there were the same general features and outcome.

Yeah, i've been reading too many PS3 vs 360 threads! Anyone want to pretend to be my Freud? :/

Ever tried to break into an ancient castle assisted only by three dead writers who only wanted to argue semantics? Luckily I remembered under which rock the bastard hid his key.

Or have you ever been chased by a gigantic plastic hovering lightbulb?

But the worst ones come after a long gaming binge. You know, the ones in which you get stuck in a loop constantly repeating one scene from the game and you know you are asleep, but you can't wake up enough to get out of it.

I dream pretty frequently (one or two big ones a month), and there's usually a narrative involved. This one was about a week ago...

----------

My brother and I went to some kind of basketball game in an old gym on the South Side (of where, I'm not sure), with a couple of other people. After the game, we left and went down escalators from the busy city block it was on to head home. I convinced my brother to come back and race (real) cars with me. We were speeding along this twisting road inside a tunnel on what I knew was the lower, wider part of a floating island in the middle of a huge river. I could visualize the outside of the island and where this tunnel was in relation to everything else. There were huge girders holding up a small town high above the past that was actually floating on the river, but below on and inside the ice, there were green hills and houses and things too. We were heading down into the massive cavern in our cars and passed a pub on the left among the hills (inside the island!), with the huge wall of ice and panels to hold it all together on the right. He swerved and hit the side just before a corner, knocking off a panel and denting the ice. After a few minutes the water from the river outside started to flow in and fill the tunnel.

I tried to swim up the way we came, but my brother went around the bend in the road further on and got out of the river, so I followed him. After that there was a bit about me and Dad going to some family's small house where we were eating dinner and brewing beer in the town on top of the girders.

Then it cut away and it was like I was returning to the town after having been away, and there were all kinds of people on the street. It must have been years or months or something because it felt like the lower part of the island was completely gone and the town floated along much lower with the ice and the rest of the girders. It was laid out like a little Cornish village, with steep streets and little houses, but I could see past them over a huge (miles) stretch of the river to the opposite (left) bank.

Then I must have wandered back to my house and saw my wife for the first time in a long time. I had really missed her and she was happy to see me too, bustling around to get stuff ready and tidy things! Our place was a collection of wooden rooms spread out with hallways between them and on the side closest to the right bank of the river, and she tied off our house to the bank when the whole town docked at the side of the river for awhile.

And then I woke up before the alarm and tried to distinguish dream from reality.

I had a dream that there was a sequel out to a Ben Stiller superhero movie (not Mystery Men). Except for most of the movie, Ben Stiller's character is training and participating in the Olympics, not doing any actual crimefighting.

I said, "I'm disappointed that we have yet to see him in costume." And Stiller's character's partner, Rorschach, says, "But I'm in costume!"

And indeed he was.

Your mother puts license plates in your underwear? How do you sit?

One common sequence that crops up in my dreams is one in which I'm being chased by something, but I'm having a hard time running away because I've become incredibly light. Every time I try to take a step I slowly float away from the ground, so I end up traveling forward in a series of slow hops. After a little while I get pretty frustrated with this and start making swimming motions with my arms in an attempt to pull myself through the air faster - this works well enough that I give up on running entirely and just swim through the air.

Oh and one time I dreamed that I was at a friend's house and their newborn baby had escaped from its crib. We looked all over the house but we couldn't find it anywhere. Suddenly, my friend looked down at the motion detector he'd apparently been carrying the whole time and shouted "Oh god, it's in the vents!" At this point the dream turned into a reenactment of the movie Aliens but with babies instead of aliens. Creepy.

Oh man, that's just fantastic.

I rarely remember my dreams.

Hooray! You got the reference!

OK... a real dream. Hrm.

I can't recall a specific weird dream at the moment, but I do have a recurring thing that happens in my dreams once a week or so. Regardless of what dream I'm in, I discover that I'm able to make myself slide forward just by concentrating. I'll focus, and then without moving my legs I'll just start sliding along with my shoes scraping across the ground. Inevitably someone in my dream will make a comment or ask how I'm doing that. Then I'll lose my concentration and stop. After the first time, I'll spend the rest of the dream using my newly found power and being interrupted.

I don't remember much of mine either. The ones I usually do are nightmares.

For the most part, they're associated with stressful times in my life, like my deployment to Afghanistan a couple years back. There was a time where I was on perimeter guard, and a young child, didn't look to be more than 10 or so went by with a blackpowder rifle. He stopped a couple times, and I gestured to him to keep moving. I don't know if he understood, but thankfully he kept walking. Another time, I was on a night shift and someone kept flashing us with a laser pointer. I don't know if there was a gun attached to it, and never will. The thought that there could have been will forever be etched in my memory.

Generally, dreams based on events like that go the Bad Route. The kid with the rifle actually had an AK47, with which he racked and tried to shoot me. He didn't do so hot at that. Thankfully, I usually wake up in a sweat before I shoot him. The laser pointer incident is similar, but with the target @ 100+ yards, I usually don't wake up before shooting that person

Man, I'm just a ball of sunshine in this thread, huh? Sorry folks

It's better out than in...

I can't imagine how experiences like that change a person though seeing my friend when he comes back from there isn't the greatest.... he drinks a lot - though he did before he went so it's difficult to determine how induced it is.

I did actually turn one of my dreams into a short story for my Creative Writing class...

Basically it was about this boy that hated his mom because she never let him have a childhood. She was a script writer and forced her family to act out the scenes she wrote so she could see how they would play out. Well, this boy was incredibly sick of doing this because they didn't get to play with friends or anything. So while his mom was arguing with their "Dad", who was actually just a close family friend that lived with them, the kid went outside with his sister and sat just below their huge deck on this hill. The mom enters the house, closing the sliding glass door. She's in there for maybe a minute before she opens it and sticks her head out and says to the guy--whose name is Casey--that the house smells funny. Casey enters the house and shuts the door. The boy stands up and shouts that Casey wasn't supposed to be in the house--apparently he liked Casey, but hated his mom. Suddenly the house exploded, sending the kids to the ground. The ltitle sister is just crying and the house is burning... and the boy has this sort of smile/smirk on his face. I woke up and just felt like: WTF?!

I had another dream where I was helping coordinate a rebellion at my Jr. High School, and it was our HQ that was getting attacked. I'm in the library listening to some updated via walkie-talkie, when I'm told a tank just rolled into the parking lot and is heading for us. Apparently our only ammo is just paintballs and throwing textbooks... I run upstairs and across this huge 2-story hallway that is at my Jr. High in real life that has a whole wall of glass. As I run down that hallway, the tank shoots into the hallway and I fall into the large whole in the floor... And that's when I woke up.

I wonder how fast child services would get called if you really did try to name your kid 3.0 (or would 2.1 be more appropriate?)

Personally I don't remember any of my dreams from recently, and the only one that sticks out in my mind (and don't ask me why I remember this dream) was one where me and my friends were driving around town in a car just hanging out, nothing weird happens, we were just cruising around (which we never actually did).

Did anyone else have messed up vision while dreaming when you were younger? It took me quite a while to figure out that while in a dream my eyes wouldn't look at the same spot. It was incredibly disorienting and whenever that happened I learned to cover one eye.

Speaking of nightmares, whats your tactic for emergency wakeups? I close my eyes and bite my tongue as hard as I can. So far its worked every time but the downside is half of the time this results in me actually biting my real tongue.
