Actually, I dislike Tennessee more than Auburn.

That may be but we don't publically say we hate anyone more than Auburn. It would be like a UT fan saying they hated anyone more than Texas A&M. You can think it but certainly don't say it when you are being videotaped ... sacrilege!

Dude, I believe OU is UT's rival. Seriously....

Not here in San Antonio ... You see either A&M or UT colors everywhere and when a group of Texans is comprised of more of one flavor then they all abuse the other. Its hysterical actually. I've noticed my company's San Antonio office is mostly A&M people (I say mostly meaning there are no UT alums not that there are a huge % of A&M alums comprising the office workforce).

Ok, re: Wells. Nevermind. They finally came out & announced he wouldn't play. Apparently he's been getting "15 treatments per day", whatever that means, and isn't ready to play.

Wow, what an awesome game. That Kansas QB is pretty darn good!

Go Bulls! hehe

Damn good game! Congrats, and good luck the rest of the way.

That was an excellent game, and the second close call in a row for USF. Let's hope for a rematch next season.

Cal loses to Maryland in a very sickening fashion. (Not for weak stomachs)

Even though Charlie Weis got Tom Brady'd on the sidelines, Notre Dame rolls Michigan 35 - 17. Karma for ESPN's Dana Jacobsen saying "f*ck Touchdown Jesus?"

Also, Tennessee must be feeling really good after UCLA (U-C-L-A suck, suck, suck) got thrashed by BYU 59 - 0.

PAC-10 got beat down today!

Fixed.

Go cry in your grass skirts Hawaii.

I knew I was forgetting one. To be fair, the only Pac-10 team that got rolled that bad was UCLA (suck, suck, suck).

Oh, Cal isn't in the PAC-10? Or the soon to be defeated Washington? Oregon did BARELY escaped a loss.

Just trying to take the eyes off of the ACC who did ok today.

Cal came close in the end and Washington is losing to the #3 school in the country. True, the separation between USC and the rest of the Pac-10 is as wide as the LA Angels and the rest of the AL West, but so far UCLA has suffered the most staggering loss of the conference. Like I said, that football monopoly in Los Angeles is alive and well.

ND actually came out to play today. I wonder if Holtz gave the pre-game pep talk...they unveiled a statue of him at the stadium his week. Charlie doesn't seem like the master motivator.

Wow, Charlie folded like an over-caffeinated origami artist.

Umm...Boomer. Sooner.

:-)

Again, to be fair, when I wrote that post, the Washington score wasn't final. Besides, the Huskies didn't run an asinine ad challenging USC's dominance. Nice going, Bruins.

THREE missed field goals for Fresno State in a 13-10 game.

Everyone came up big except the damn kicker. Awful.

Some days I wonder if you're secretly Skip Bayless.

That's just mean. Really mean.

No, mean would be comparing you to Jay Mariotti.

Sorry to dig this up, but I haven't had time to dig through all these threads since coming back from vacation.

2 pages and not a mention of the mighty Gators? For shame!

I mentioned the Gators on page 1?

Gators 2 titles, Alabama 12.

I think the Gators might need a few more titles before getting crowned as "mighty."

11 of Alabama's titles came before 1980 and at least 2 were handed out retroactively. You guys had a great run in the 70's, but so did disco. How many of those 12 titles have come in the last 15 years?

Vols' fans are feeling a little bitter this year.

Can I be Ishmael?

Ouch, E. Carolina BCS hopes get dashed!

Hello, friends. I've stopped by to once again wonder why we aren't talking about the FREAKING GATORS?

Because even a Gator fan has nothing interesting to add?

I hate the Gators, that's why!

USF scrapes by. FSU loses against a good opponent. Still, with a new young QB I did not expect an undefeated season.

I said it's great to be a Gator Hater, I said its great to be a Gator Hater.

Beat a team with a pulse, and look good doing it. The Vols gift wrapped that game.

*edit*

The retirement of a legend. All college football fans should be able to listen to someone like Munson call their games.

As a Gator fan I hate agreeing with the Puppydawg fan on this one, but he's right.

There is not much to be excited about so far this season with the Gators except for maybe the emergence of Moody last weekend and an improved defense (well sort of). Hawaii was looking really good against us until their QB made one bad throw and lost all of his confidence. Miami stuck around way too long. And the Tennessee game was like the Hawaii game (well except it was an SEC driving up the field and turning the ball over and not a WAC team).

To sum up ... our offense has looked underwhelming and our defense is picking off balls thrown right at them. Let's revisit this topic around the LSU game and see how we've fared against more of the SEC bottom feeders.

Speaking of sickening fashion...

I didn't post it all week because I've still been down in the dumps about it. My Apps went over to James Madison University last weekend (who nearly knocked us out of the playoffs last year before we went on to win our 3rd championship in a row), and STOMPED A FREAKING MUDHOLE IN THEM...in the first half. Halftime score: 21-0 Appalachian State.

Kickoff of 2nd half: coaching staff had the bright idea for our special teams (who have given up 4 kickoff/punt returns in the past 4 games) to kick the ball to who is arguably the best kick returner in the FCS. 21-7 before we knew it and MO and the fans were on their side the remainder of the game. Then they scored two more quickly and it's 21-21. We were making a last comeback drive but it just didn't pan out...we lost 35-32.

Great football played by both teams, certainly a story of two halves. If any of you are FBS only guys, do yourselves a favor and watch these two teams face off in the playoffs later this year (there's a good chance they'll meet again). They match up very well, the coaches know each other inside and out, and now it appears we have a good old-fashioned rivalry brewing.

The loss was painful, but a great lesson for a younger team than the past few years to learn about finishing what they started. Silver lining: they learned it before conference play starts this weekend.

Ho-ly sh*t. Twenty-five point underdog and unranked Oregon State knocks off SUC...er...USC. Looks like the Trojans got rejected by these Beavers.
