Also are you guys going to playing in the Halo Reach beta?

Not so far. I don't have ODST or a beta key.

I do have a key and and I'm playing. There had been talk of setting up a GWJ night. Hit this thread and let's get a game going.

You guys are a bunch of filthy enablers.

All that CounterStrike talk got me out of Azeroth and on one of those 24/7 Office servers. It was soooo good. Like-"OMG it's already 1:30AM?" good.

Sure, I'm rusty. My score was....not good. Not bad, but definitely not good....CS:S is still is as much fun as ever!

My favorite multiplayer memories, though, are from Joint Ops.

There was something magical about that game, and the level of participation at both GWJ and Tactical Gamers.

Grabbing a sniper rifle and jumping on to an empty seat of Air Swampy's Helo was always exciting.

I find it interesting that Certis rates UT2003, I've never played any UT game, but most people swear by 2004. Maybe it's the vehicles.

For straight-up UT2004? I thought the draw of UT2004 was all the mods—Red Orchestra, Neo Tokyo, Alien Swarm, Nightblade, etc.

Forgot another great one - if you could get a good group of players together, Giants: Citizen Kabuto offered some multiplayer goodness the likes of which I have yet to see copied.

I swear by 2004, and it's not because of the vehicles. After the original, 2003 just felt "wrong" to myself and those I played with. It was something about the movement and the feel of the weapons, but I was never able to pinpoint exactly what.

I don't think we were the only ones to feel that way, since Epic offered a rebate to those people picking up 2004 who had already purchased 2003, effectively making 2k4 about $15.- at launch. I decided to not take advantage of the offer, but that earned Epic a bunch of brownie points in my book.

Amazing podcast this week... love the retro game talk, especially when it comes to Subspace. I grew up in Maine, so even with a 14.4k modem I was able to play against people in Europe, California, and South America. I was only 13 at the time, but these experiences pushed me into travelling and studying abroad. For such a simple game, it had amazing depth and was seriously to this date the best social gaming experience I have ever had.

Countless hours put into the warzone server... great game, can't believe it came up.

Two things:
1. Perfect Dark is the only game I've ever pre-ordered.
2. I refused to buy the Wii because it was over-priced, then I played some Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Great show - my favorite multiplayer has to be Mario Kart 64 - I remember coming home from highschool and 'practicing' with all my buddies for our 'grand prix'. Good times

Regarding the discussion about printed manuals turning into in-game tutorials - I think Rabbit said how he hates to waste time on a long in-game tutorial - I was surprised no one mentioned Final Fantasy 13. I haven't played it, nor do I plan to and I don't know if it has a manual or not, but it seems like everyone is complaining about the 20 hour tutorial or whatever, lol. Seems like a perfect example.

Tribes 2 link? Did I miss it?

I always forget something. Here's the link for Tribes 2 night, Dax. Download link there too.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned Team Fortress Classic. I poured weeks into that game. I was glad to hear that Jedi: Academy (still the best Jedi game to date) and BF1942 got some love. Mechwarrior: Mercenaries gets the most love from me, since I was in a clan. Ah, good times. What up.

"I don't deserve number two." More fiber perhaps?

The theme song to the podcast is oddly catchy and slightly haunting.
