Thanks Lobster and Grenn, for handing me my inaugural beatdown. :)

Always a pleasure.

I really need to get back into this... I'll try and be on sometime this week,

Always a pleasure, except I wasn't doing so hot. Lance will haunt my dreams forever.

Then my work is done.

...not that I'll stop now.

I want Lance to be my best friend forever.

Ok I added GWJ Fight Club as a friend...what am I supposed to do now?
(Sorry for the silly question, but for the life of me I can't figure it out)

We don't talk about it.

Phragged, when you're looking to get a multiplayer game going, create the room and then go to your friends list. If you select GWJ Fight Club and press right you can view "his" friends and invite them to your game directly from that list.

I need to get off my ass and hook up my USB TV adapter so I can post some screenshots of Lance. And maybe some of my other custom characters (people seem to like my Drow). Mostly Lance though.

In his "special pose."

Sorry I missed you last night. Tonight maybe!

Possibly a repost, but dogs gotta bark, birds gotta fly and I gotta skim. I spent last night trying to finish the story mode and attempting to get the hidden treasures in the ascension mode when, twice, I fought a character named Certis.

Yeah its been brought up a few times-- but no one has taken a screenshot! Come on folk's get on it! I want that shot of girl-Certis on the front page!

Yes, we know, but it's so delightful to be reminded.

Thanks Lobster!
I've been delving into ranked games with mixed results. It's a mix of people spamming the same combo over and over again to get wins, new players and people who are actually pretty good.
I lost pretty regularly to the people spamming combos until I realized I didn't have to fight a real match against them and then just spammed back A,A's and low sweeps since they didn't really know what they were doing. It was really great the couple games against people who were really good. I played one game against a guy playing mistu where I figured I was going to get mitsu spammed. But his economy of attacks was impressive (it was very samurai like....he had no wasted attacks and his attacks always hit where he intended)

OK, my rental periods up, so I'm out 'til I can pick up a discounted copy on Ebay. I'll play wiht you guys later--hopefully Vader will be available by then.

I went into the ranked matches just long enough to get the achievements that require it. Now I only play unranked with goodjers.

I don't mind people who spam combos. Not only are they EXTREMELY easy to read (and therefore, guard impact), but I figure if they can beat me then it's because I couldn't adapt and react, not because they're being cheap.

Last night while we were playing my controls were a bit sluggish, which made that approach a little difficult. I don't want to diminish the wins anyone got against me but there seemed to be a good quarter-second between my button press and my character response, so I had to keep things simple.

I've only ever experienced slight lag while online, although I've very rarely jumped online, so I've completely given up trying to guard impact or anything like that. I'm barely good at doing it offline, there's no hope for me when I'm online. So I mostly block and spam the same few moves. It's not the worst thing ever, but it can make matches a little tedious. Still, I had fun last night.

I'm impressed you can guard impact online....I still don't have the timing down.
I don't mind playing them...but it was an initial shock and the easiest way to play them is to just beat them down mercilessly...

I got decent at doing guard impacts while going for that stupid achievement and to do floor 14 of the Tower, which unlocks a new stage.

You think. You... think? God dammit, there are LIVES at stake!

Mmm... steak.

She was the second girl I faced on floor eleven.

*Fixed*

Found a video of Certis, that little girl. You will need to view the video on high quality to make out the name.

Enjoy!

Certis ended up pretty lucky-- he could have ended up with a much more embarrassing girl than one encased completely in metal. Still, pretty funny.

Yes, but he still squeals when you beat him down. And you can knock his armor off and see his pretty braids.

You have to watch it in high quality.

The video's so horribly overcompressed I can't make anything out. Except that she uses Cervantes' moves.

Ah ha! Funny, I never noticed that option in YouTube before.

Is it just me or is the person playing in that video really really bad?

I can't remember the 11th floor taking more than a minute or two to finish when I played it and I'm awful at this game. I don't think I've ever intentionally done a guard impact, for example.
