That is the single best qualifier for the "Kill it with fire" meme. Ever.

why did I click this thread? Now I'm definitely not going to sleep ever again.

Holy motherf*cking sh*t.

This thread just brought joy to my otherwise dull Friday afternoon. You guys are the best!

With OG's thread, this thread should now be promoted to sticky status.

I think a picture this horrible needs to be repeated as often as possible. The fact that it keeps bumping into OG's mind is just that much better.

Had a house spider give birth in out house last year. Tons of little green web spinners trying to find their place in the world...sorta cute really, and I hate spiders.

That picture, however...if that happened in my place, I would leave my house, and not go back.

Someone should make it into their avatar.

Some background on this image.

We were driving on the highway in south Texas on our way to the coast. We saw something
cross the road. And were like WTF was that? We stopped got out and found this spider. It was huge. That is a corn field its in, not blades of grass. It chased my friend Jake back to the car. It was easily 8 inches across.

Do you really thin that would be enough?

That would be my biggest problem with seeing that in my house, now what the f*ck do I do (other than sh*t myself)?

Oh, Raid kills spiders. It takes a little longer, but it works.

In the case of that particular spider, I'd tape six Raid cans together and detonate them with some sort of fuse.

There's a spider right above my desk as I type this. I'll get a photo.

Do you have seashells epoxied to your ceiling or something dude?

I never said it was a big spider.

This picture reminded me of an old Sega Genesis game called The Immortal. There was a giant spider level in the game but the really deadly part was after you had killed the giant spider. You had to make your way through an entire corridor filled with egg sacks. One false move and your character died a grotesque death
enveloped and covered by the baby spiders. I remember it giving me horrific nightmares at the time. Thanks for the memories GWJ!!

That'd likely blow a hole in the wall though. What you want to do, is hook the six cans of raid together, douse the spider(s) in the raid, then light them up.

There are WAY more than 40 spiders there... it's gotta be at least two raids.

It's still there. It's been there all day.

So get rid of it, you manly man.

I don't like to kill things unless I need to.

Now if it had, let's say, insulted the work of Christian Bale...

I think it made some disparaging remarks about his acting in "3:10 to Yuma".

Oh now that sh*t's just uncalled for! However, this morning little spider was nowhere to be found.

You probably ate it in your sleep.

Just had to post this. This evening my wife and I went out, and upon coming home, we found a giant black spider on our deck. My wife freaking out, I grabbed a small Tupperware container to trap it, so I could get a better (safer) look.

After getting it in there, I had a drop of water from the container drip down my finger, I freaked out, and dropped it.

When I picked it up, I noticed hundreds of new baby spiders, crawling all over the inside of the container, and the large spider was dead (edit: Dying, as they're eating it).

Implants! Those aren't your memories. They're somebody else's. They're Tyrell's niece's... Ok, bad joke. I made a bad joke. You're not a replicant. Go home, Ok? No really, I'm sorry. Go home.

And take your friend with you.

Last year a house spider clutch hatched in/around/near my air conditioner intake/vents. The result was little tiny spiders raining down on my computer. Just a few a day, but still... Ewww. I'd come home from work and find a bunch of new cobwebs on my monitors and speakers.

The fact that they were there attracted centipedes, who came to eat them. When it got cold the centipedes went away and I've seen far, far fewer of them this year. I still find some house spiders here and there but I'm glad the centipedes seem to have eaten most of them.

I'll note that Max's picture is actually two camel spiders. One's eating the other.

I call shenanigans!

Yeah! I saw that picture and was like "Holy. Living. f*ck. A spider... and another one... Christ.."

The perspective in the pic is kinda weird. Notice the guy's sleeve on the right. Still, a big spider and I've heard horror stories of them eating the skin off living soldiers while they sleep.

Those are all urban legends. Same with the ones about them running 25 MPH, screaming and jumping 6 feet in the air - they don't usually bite humans (or anything larger than mice) and don't actually have the fabled anasthetic injection that supposedly allows them to gnaw at you while you sleep without your knowledge. They are pretty cool, though. A roommate of mine served in Iraq and brought home some pretty awesome videos of camel spiders fighting scorpions.

Is Raid flammable?

Very yes.

You know, as the resident grammar cop, you could catch a lot of hell for this line... I'll let it slide, though, as it's a Strong Bad quote.
