Thank you! FFS!

I wonder if Cory also says "Meespace" and "Meethbusters."

I'm pretty sure he also says "Zed-Zed Top".

Great show as always.

About Uncharted 2, though. Isn't the platforming in Uncharted just there as a break from the gunfights? Saying that's your favourite bit is like saying the Pipemania minigame in Bioshock is your favourite bit, isn't it?

I've found the multiplayer very enjoyable: co-op survival is excellent fun if you're all working together.

Now that I've finished listening, I wanted to say welcome back Rob! Great job hosting the show. I really enjoyed the topic-less freeform segment. I think it would be a good idea to occasionally do this in place of the normal "main topic", like once every 4-6 weeks, just to give everyone a chance to talk about whatever and see where it goes. Maybe we'll get more gems like everyone making fun of how much rabbit plays games on the sh*tter.

Spontaneity FTW.

Should be "MYÜ-tōs" amirite?

EDIT: or "MÜ-tōs"?

There should be a mini-van in Forza 3.

How about the same van (Ford Transit) that put Sabine Schmitt in on Top Gear to run the Nurburgring in 10 minutes?

When Idle Thumbs was interviewing Max Schaefer, Chris Remo kept mispronouncing it that way. I cringed every time because Max was letting it slide and when Max said it, he pronounced it correctly and Chris kept saying it wrong. Crazy.

RE: Dolphin Sex
That all started back in the Halo 2 days, Fletcher, Krazy and I spent several nights describing horrible acts of dolphin sex. Fletcher could do a pretty good dolphin impression.

Other highlights of team FO's bourbon-fueled Halo 2 exploits

  • Telling our (random pubbie) opponents that the safety word for tonight was "banana" then anytime they attacked start running away and shouting "banana! banana!"
  • During pretty much every game of zombies, the zombies would all try to convince the remaining humans to come outside (ala. landshark). I think at one point we were zombie Jehovah's Witnesses
  • We got my dog drunk (we were drunk first) and while playing Halo 2 we got a mysterious "controller disconnected" message, only to look down and see my dog had chewed through the Xbox controller cords

In short, we are drunks.

I do now.

Fine. I don't want to race with you guys anyway

Posting as I listen, but you mentioned nothing coming in December a few minutes after Cory said he was going to pick up Legend of Zelda: Spiirt Tracks.
Also, for the weirdest thing ever, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers (not interested in the game too much, but it caught my eye) comes out December 26th. Is that because Gamestop had their biggest day of sales for the year last December 26th?

I would also like to point out that in Torchlight, the composer was Matt Uleman. He is the same composer for the Diablo games.

Thin J you got called out as a "badass Motha - (shut yo mouth) - I'm just talking bout Thin J" kinda Forza driver.

I think this pretty much settles it. If the guy who made the damn thing calls it "Myth-os," it's "Myth-os!"

Visual aid (Slightly NSFW or at least the front page).

Edit: And did Cory just admit to using Match.com once?

I have no idea why I totally let him slide on that.

Damn... stop making me want to buy another game – Torchlight – that I wont play.

Once?

Better than a Craigslist personal.

It's still like asking your mom to set you up with someone.

You wound me, sir.

Maybe we should argue this in a separate thread, though.

In re the question about card/board games: Check Barnes & Noble. The one closest to my house has a fairly substantial selection of board games.

What made me think of it is that Cory said don't expect the comic store to have Catan, and I distinctly remembered seeing that B&N had it, which shocked me at the time . . . and still does.

Oh and Rabbit, great answer on the sacred question.

This is totally nerdy but Forza is the Italian word for strenght and pronounced the way you guys thought was incorrect.

Yes I know it still sounds wrong. The Portuguese have a similar word Forca (Four-sa) and it sounds way better.

Spanish "fuerza" is superior.

English "The Force" is the best.

forza 3 has some auto braking in it which is probably what makes the mario kart to racing sim possible.

diablo II was a totally brilliant sequel to diablo. It is the closest I have ever played to perfect co-op play.

Thin_J wrote:

Thin_J I must know:
A.) What is your rank among all Forza players?
B.) How many people play Forza in the world?

superslug wrote:

Wow, really? Better co-op than Halo? Resident Evil 5? Gears Of War?

Certainly more accessible than those three.

I don't know, I'm not gonna try to take back my lack of love for Diablo II, but it's missing something the first Diablo had, that cramp feeling of being in a dungeon deep below the earth. And Torchlight's got it in spades.

Someone saying they disagree with you should hardly change your feelings. I am happy for you to be wrong :p.

I played d2 with a group of friends over a probably a year going through normal to hell and the feeling of building our characters to support each other and managing our resources so we could get the equipment we needed felt much more like a cohesive co-op play than I have ever had in a shooter.

also windows 7 is nice but only because they had vista as a 3 year wide release beta. I like it but I think its total crap that MS are charging for as if it is a completely new system.
