Much like Mario 64 on NintendoÂ's post-SNES foray into the world of 3D, Halo stormed out of the gate and clearly defined what the Xbox was going to be all about. It moved units like no other game could for the fledgling console years past the original launch date. Here we are looking down the barrel of a Halo 2 release and it looks to usher in a whole new level of what Xbox Live can offer to gamers. ItÂ's quite possible this will be the last truly momentous game we see on the Xbox as Microsoft rolls on towards the next piece of hardware. Enjoy Halo 2 and all the anticipation leading up to midnightÂ's release this Monday night, itÂ's going to be something special for gamers all over the world.

On DVD this week we have Gone With the Wind: 4 disc CollectorÂ's Edition, Stepford Wives, Ju-On (The Grudge) and more!

I'll be in the thick of it Monday night for Halo 2, but i'm completely smitten with Jak III, if only because i've heard it described as "Jak II, with significantly less annoying levels and mind-numbing driving, replaced instead with fun."

Hoo-ray.

Shipping the Painkiller expansion the same week as Halo 2? Jesus, talk about bad decisions.

*edit* Oh they're shipping it Sunday, a little better.

Well, obviously you can't.

What is this "Halo 2" of which you speak? I've never heard of it.

Halo2... hands down!

Look, anyone that mentions Halo 2 before the PC port is out gets shanked. That's your final warning.

Hey, where are the smartass painkiller comments?

Well, obviously you can't. :)

In the biz, we call them "review copies"

I know Need for Speed Underground 2 also comes out this week as well as Karaoke Revolution for the Xbox, Zoo Tycoon 2, and Imortal Cities: Children of the Nile.

NFS:U2... I though is out on Nov. 16!

Looks like the PC version is a week early, that's odd.

EQ2 is 39.99 this week at Target. They are pretty good at getting games around release, at least the one I go to does. So if they don't have it Tuesday they will probably Wed or Thur.

Strong Bad email DVD?

Hmm. I'm all over the Red vs. Blue DVDs, but I don't know about that one. Depends on the cost.

The only question is, can you stay away?

Easily.

I was gonna pick up the new NFS for my Xbox, but it'll look better on my PC anyway.

*yawn* Halo2 *yawn*

1h30m until I play halo2! I should of call out... having the game and still waiting to play I think is worse than not having the game and waiting for it!

[edit] Still waiting and 10hours to go!
