Ok, I know I'm a week late but whatever. Someone mentioned in 113 that Call of Duty 4 part 2 was part of a new trend of lazy game naming. let us not forget Ultima 7 part 1, Ultima 7 part 1: Forge of Virtue, Ultima 7 part 2, and Ultima 7 part 2: Silver Seed.

Sweet! They read my e-mail! Thanks for taking the time to read and talk on that topic.

I'm a bit too new to the site to really appreciate the connection with Jeff Green and Shawn Elliot. Were they part of the original podcast? Or just good friends of the site?

I just might download some of the old stuff as I'll be doing quite a bit of traveling over the holidays.

Great 'cast as always.

They used to work for Games For Windows magazine, and do that podcast every week, when GFW went belly up they ended up working for 1UP. Both have been fairly regular guests on the Conference Call as well. I'm not sure what got them on the first time, but it is always a cool dynamic when they are there.

I could be wrong, but I always thought that it was the fact that they knew Rabbit who had written for GFW before he closed it. Clarification from the big wigs?

It was mentioned as a joke on the show, but drums on Rock Band could be played with one hand. You've got two options:

1) One stick: Certain colors affect more whether or not you fail. I don't know which, I just remember Bill Harris talking about. So, when doing a regular beats focus on the color that keeps you alive and rely on overdrive for anything too complex.

2) Two sticks: Hold like Wolverine's claws and you won't have to miss notes during regular beats, but you lose the ability to double tap so fills will be harder.

I could be wrong, but I always thought that it was the fact that they knew Rabbit who had written for GFW before he closed it. Clarification from the big wigs?

I contacted Jeff Green a couple years ago when Bookworm Adventures was in their top 10 games of the year. We had him on the show soon after and have been best of friends ever since.

So you were responsible for introducing Rabbit to GFW?

Actually, Jeff went out of his way to reach out to quite a few freelancers who had been regulars at CGM and Massive when THEY closed down, which is how Lara, Myself, and Cindy Yans ended up in the pages of GFW before it died. Shawn was the features editor for Jeff, so he worked with both Lara and I on stories. Sean (Elysium) also did a few articles for GFW under their leadership.

But mostly, GFW Radio was the best podcast evar.

I believe I made rabbit, yes.

If rabbit is the One Ring which guides publications to ruin, then I guess that makes you Sauron.

You really never get tired of it, do you?

I made you, Grinch!

Yes, I know I'm late to the thread, but I'm always a bit behind on podcast listening. Great show, and the volume was fine. One question though: what's with the bleeping? We're all adults here, and I'm annoyed by censorship is general, so the bleeps were a little off-putting. Beyond that though, it was a great episode of the CC.

Who died and made you Dr. Seuss?

I was mainly looking where to lay blame.

All my fault.

I agree, bleeping 'paradigm' is good for a laugh, but actual swears? Nah, leave them in please.

Hi Guys and Merry Xmas from Down Under. I loved hearing your discussion of my email on the podcast and all the great comments form the forums. So much so that I have signed up to them and plan on contributing regularly as I can. I have been given a Baby Bjorn so I hope to try that out soon, and we got a Wii for Xmas along with Boom Blox for me and Guitar Hero for my wife so I hope that might be something to do. I also went and found Commandos and Civ II to try and play 1 handed with my daughter.
Again thanks for reading my email out it was a blast to hear it and thanks for all the support from everybody.

From my family to everyone at Gamers with Jobs and your families.
Merry Xmas
Ian, Kate and Violet who is now 3 weeks old! (and she will be a gamer someday).

Wasn't "Violet" an Aussie game that just won top honors in interactive fiction? I'll lay odds on your child coming up right!

We welcome all with such taste and style.

We welcome others as well. In fact, we explicitly welcome perverts.
